Spend your days exploring the National Seashore and your evenings at a sweet little retreat directly overlooking Minister's Pond. Just a short walk from the National Seashore's Visitor Center and trails. Enjoy morning coffee or meals on your screened porch or sit in your Adirondack chairs overlooking the water on your private dock. Comfortable and private, the cottage sits away from the main road and is a short drive to bay and ocean beaches, shops, restaurants and other destinations.
Located in a very private spot in a small Cape Cod cottage colony, this is a perfect retreat for singles or couples who want to have a great time exploring Outer Cape Cod and a cozy place to return to after an exciting day! We also have many guests who find it a perfect location for workshops/seminars.
We are a Franco-American couple who searched for a little gem we could retreat to ourselves and rent to others to enjoy.
We surprised ourselves by finding our little bit of heaven tucked away on a small private road behind the bustle of route 6. In a small, older cottage colony that is now "condos", we have great neighbors and excellent privacy. We picked our little cottage because it has its own private dock and was solidly built , with
Linda Green purchased this cottage in 2009
Perfect location if you want to be private but close to the amazing stretch of beaches that makes up the Outer Cape's National Seashore. Freshwater ponds and the bay beaches are also great for endless variety.
We love taking our bikes on the off-road path to Coast Guard Beach, walking to the Salt Pond Visitor's Center for our morning walks, and shopping (low-key and friendly) at Eastham's Superette.
We also love the simplicity yet practical little space in our cottage, where we often cook fresh local seafood and eat on our screened porch.
Great location and waterfront at a reasonable price.
Perfect get-away for single or couple.
Conference attendees can come home to their cottage only a few miles from the Sheraton and the high school.
The Green Cottage was an excellent stay despite the cold weather. The fishing was great...we appreciated the stay, and the both of us can proudly say that our vacation was fulfilling and memorable.
We just got home from a wonderful week at the cottage. Since getting into and out of many locations in Eastham can be quite challenging the ease with which we could come and go was a big plus for us. We enjoyed early morning walks on the beach at theMarconi Station, late morning swims at Cook's bayside beach and after lunch fresh water swimming at Eastham pond beaches. As Linda suggested the Town of Eastham Beach Parking sticker was fabulous. There are many wonderful restaurants nearby and in Orleans just a few minutes away. The Weber grill and a local fish store allowed us to cook delicious sea bass and blue fish dinners. For those looking to explore the Cape this location is midway between Chatham and Provincetown and therefore an easy drive to art galleries, antique stores, whale watching, bike trails or dune riding. If privacy and reading the many treasures you may have been waiting to delve into are more your style then the screened porch, outdoor hammock and chairs on the dock at the Minister's Pond are perfect for you. Other than sheets, towels and groceries this cottage was nicely equipped with many necessities and easy to clean. We are looking forward to another stay at this cottage.
I just returned from a wonderful week at the cottage. It was a lovely and tranquil haven. The mornings and early evenings sitting on the adirondack chair on the dock, having my morning coffee or sipping a glass of wine in the evening, watching and listening to all of the birds, was so therapeutic. A Great Blue Heron blessed me with its presence almost every day. The cottage itself is just right for one or two people and had everything that I needed. It was very clean and felt very warm and inviting. It is in a good location for exploring the Cape and right near the Salt Pond Visitors Information Center which is a great starting point. You do hear traffic noise from Route 6 but it being off season it was not too bad, more like a whooshing sound. After the second day or so I hardly heard it anymore or pretended it was ocean sounds. At night it gets very quiet and you can hear a pin drop. I slept like a log and the bed was very comfortable. The wall of windows looking out on the pond made the one rainy day I experienced not so bad, as I did not feel cooped up at all. All in all a great time!
This cabin was a delightful place to stay. We immediately felt like it was our home away from home. There was enough room for my husband and me to comfortably stay and spread out with all our stuff. The kitchen was well equipped so that we were able to cook a couple of meals there. The cabin is set on the pond which adds to its charm. It is also located close to the park and the bike path which fit in with our activities for the week. The tranquility of the cabin was a welcome place to come home to after a day spent on the Cape.
This is a wonderful, clean, comfortable cottage. Eastham is a great central location on Cape Cod. Very close to the National Seashore and many great beaches. The cottage is in a very peaceful, private, beautiful location. The owner is quick to respond to email and answered all of my questions. I can not recommend this more highly!
Walking distance to the National Seashore's Salt Pond Visitor Center, the beginning of the spectacular Outer Cape. You'll have access to miles of hiking trails with postcard worthy views, and an off-road bike path to Coast Guard Beach, one of the Cape's most beautiful ocean beaches. There are lots of park programs to choose from, and a wonderful Audubon Sanctuary within a short drive. Great location for exploring Wellfleet, Provincetown, Orleans and the rest of Cape Cod.
Eastham is at the start of the expansive National Seashore beaches, and the Cape is narrow enough to give you easy access to the calmer waters of the Bayside beaches as well.
Other Activities: shellfishing, kayaking, salt and freshwater fishing and swimming, Cape Cod bike trail, outdoor & indoor movie theaters, flea market. Whale watching in Provincetown. Lots of fresh seafood, in restaurants or to 'cook in'.
Big supermarket, lots of shopping, restaurants and cafes in nearby Orleans as well as in Wellfleet. We have a great little local food and beverage store with a deli just a few miles.
