The Apartment Has Been Furnished And Equipped To A High Standard
About Robert Kind
We live in Leicester and are now both retired, we really enjoy our frequent visits to our 'Escape' in La Azohia
Robert Kind purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Robert Kind chose La Azohia
El Pinar de San Gines in La Azohia is in a much sought after location set in an area of pine trees in which there are many private superb villas. La Azohia is totally unspoilt and Spanish. At the back of the apartments are the mountains. The next village is Isla Plana 5mins away with good beaches restaurant and bars. The nearest town is Puerto de Mazarron 10mins drive and supermarkets can be found there. The area is very quiet and still Spanish, there are a few tapas bars and restaurants but mostly unspoilt by tourism. This is why we and all our visitors love it here and the reviews we have say it all.

Well Equipped Apartment with Stunning Views
What a fabulous view from the roof terrace and almost every window in the house! I have stayed at the San Gines twice before but this is the best place by far. So well equipped, with amazing views from the solarium and the bikes, beach chairs and cool box were a welcome bonus. Communication with Robert was quick and easy and arrival and departure made so much simpler with the key box. I worried about not having a contact in resort but nothing went wrong and there was no need to contact Robert for anything once we got there, we just unpacked and lived like a local for 10 days.
La Azohia is a lovely little fishing village like Spain used to be many moons ago. Plenty of places to eat, our favourite was Bellavista, delicious food at very reasonable prices and always a warm welcome. There's a good sized Coviran in the neighbouring Isla Plana, only 5 mins by car or a 15 minute cycle along a lovely coastal route.
The apartment was spacious, great water pressure in the huge shower and the beds were so comfy. We would've preferred a double (king size) but just moved the drawers and pushed the twins together (at least I got to keep all my own covers this way!). Only a 10 minute walk from a lovely beach with crystal clear water and a lovely promenade walk to the Aussie Bar at the harbour, well worth the 20 minutes to see the view across the water to Puerto Mazarron.
We had wifi and English channels on the TV which was a bonus too.
I can definitely recommend The Escape to anyone wanting a quiet, away from it all, out-of-season holiday with plenty of amenities just a short walk away. We will be back :-)
Thank you for you great review of our apartment in La Azohia, Costa Calida.
We are very please you both enjoyed your stay, we do try and make your holiday something special to remember. We hope you may return soon.
A perfect place for family holiday.
It was a real pleasure to spend a week in “The Escape”.
We travel a lot and never had such a well equipped apartment - everything you may need is in. Wonderful views from the balcony and from the terrace. Beautiful place to relax, a real “detente farniente”. La Azohia is a perfect place to avoid a crowd but still close enough to visit Cartagena or Puerto de Mazarron. Nice restaurants in a walking distance, clean and warm water in the sea, safe for everybody. If you are too tired to go to the beach you may enjoy life in a swimming pool nearby. A place to remember and to return. Thank you!
Location tres agreable.belle vue tout ce qu il faut. ..même des velos. La mer tout près. ....des lits confortables. Region a decouvrir. Plein de visites. ..mer cristalline. Des vacances ideales

The apartment has access to two pool's and is less than 500m from the unspoilt and mostly sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea where the water is crystal clear, the depth at a distance 20/30m is still only about 3 or 4 feet. There is a walkway from which you can walk over the beach to Isla Plana, about 35mins, where there is a waterfront Spanish bar/social cub open to all serving cool beers/drinks and tapas plus superb views.
There are 3 dive schools in the immediate vicinity and the diving is reputed to be the 5th best in the world
A round of golf can be had within a 30-minute drive. The Sierra Espuna is a beautiful national park. This is lovely days outing by car taking in stunning views and stopping at a restaurant for lunchtime del dia. Cartagena is only 20 mins away with history and shopping. The apartment has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. And is ideal for a quiet break away at any time. It has stunning views from the kitchen and lounge windows and the roof terrace, the sunsets are mostly fantastic. The large marble breakfast bar comfortably seats 4 people also enabling a large preparation area. There is a travel cot provided but you will need to bring own bedding for this.
We have also fitted baby safety gate on top of solarium, which also has a barbecue, sun beds, table and chairs. Together with gazebo for the hotter days.

The beach at La Azohia is gently shelving with shallow, warm waters & a beautiful new palm-lined promenade stretching two miles ensuring a memorable evening stroll along the sea front as the sun sets across the bay. Much prized by the Spanish the sea here is considered amongst the clearest in Spain & has been granted blue flag status for many years with the deeper waters at Cabo Tinoso known by divers far & wide for their colourful sea beds & by the local fishermen who still bring in their daily tuna catches to the quaint marina. The Costa Calida is a fairly undiscovered part of south-east Spain. La Azohia is a totally unspoilt idyllic Spanish fishing village on the Costa Calida. It lies at the sheltered end of the large Mazarron bay, just 10 minutes drive away from Mazarron with its wealth of shops, restaurants, and a wonderful large sandy beach. It is 20 minutes drive away from the large town of Cartagena, where Hannibal landed with his elephants. There are no organised tour operators here, and even in the height of the season you will be able to find virtually empty beaches in La Azohia and around the bay of Mazarron. The beaches in this area of the Costa Calida are fantastic - plenty of large, fine sandy beaches (including a number of blue flag beaches) for the perfect beach holiday.
Rest, relax there is almost no pace of life here. For the more energetic, there is swimming, windsurfing, diving at all levels .La Azohia is a very well-known place for
