QUESTION: Is the beach sandy and swimmable?
ANSWER: Many renters ask is the beach is sandy and/or is the beach 'swimmable'. The answer is yes. Yes it is a sandy beach.
However, Pleasant Point Landing beach is a bay-side beach. ALL Wellfleet bay-side beaches have a tidal range of 9-12 feet, depending on the moon cycle. Pleasant Point's beach is swimmable 2 hours either side of absolute High-tide. This gives beach goers 4 hours for swimming. Again, depending on the tide charts. At low tide, it is NOT accessible for swimming and walking out on the flats is NOT advisable unless wearing waders. The sand gives way to a mucky bottom as you go further out away from the swimming area(s).

About Warren Lenoir
I'm a retired Graphic Designer. I split my time on Cape Cod and a Florida home. Summers I rent & maintain the main house at the Compound, (Bountiful Cottage), and live in my former artist's studio, (Blackfish Design Studio). For over 20+ years I have worked as an Assistant Gallery Director in Provincetown at the Rice Polak Gallery. I have over 25+ seasons of rental experience, assisting guests in getting the most out of their vacation adventure.
Warren Lenoir purchased this House in 1991
Why Warren Lenoir chose Pleasant Point
Many years ago I discovered this neighborhood while exploring Wellfleet locations in the winter. I always thought this would be a lovely location; I was romanced by the feel of the established turn of the century/early 20th century cottages and proximity to Pleasant Point Landing and Blackfish Creek. I waited many years for an opportunity to purchase this home. In 1991 I was fortunate enough to acquire Bountiful Cottage and slowly work on restoration and updating it.
What makes this House unique
The house, built in the late1890's, is located in a quiet neighborhood of Victorian era summer cottages that is unique to this area. Located just across the street from Logy Bay/Blackfish Creek, great for Kayaking, long marsh/beach walks and swimming. The restored/refurbished Victorian era beach house: I like my summer guests to feel special. I'm available to help/fix/maintain with any challenges that might arise with the home while they are visiting. The beach is a short 2-3 min walk down a wooded lane/pathway that begins right at the end of the driveway.

Wonderful logistics and a charming cottage with a gracious host. Would 100% return again for another retreat. Thumbs up!!
It was a pleasure to have you, Maureen and your family come and visit Bountiful.
I look forward to hosting you again the the future!
Bountiful week !!
We've stayed at "Bountiful" about 7-8 times since 1995, and have had an excellent experience every time. Warren, the owner, always makes sure that your stay is great, providing toiletries in case you forgot something, and this time even ensured that the weather was perfect for our week's stay. We highly recommend a "Trip to Bountiful".................
Exceptional cottage! Clean and neat. Exactly as described. Would highly recommend this place!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I loved Bountiful cottage and had a wonderful, relaxing time there. A great getaway! My only regret is I had to come home! The cottage is beautiful , quaint, super clean and I LOVED all the antiques and artwork. You just get a feeling of all your cares melting away just walking in. It was great to have all the little things there like paper towels, toilet paper, tissues in every room, and even ice in the freezer-Warren is attentive to all your needs but even though next door he is not intrusive. It was a perfect location , just steps to the marsh beach for long walks and a short drive to the ocean and lakes. The only area on the Cape I will go is Pleasant Point as it holds a special place in my heart - spent vacations here every summer as a child. I hope to return to Bountiful next summer!
Best spot on the Cape
Bountiful Cottage has become very dear to us! A lovely little gem of a house on a very sunny spot. The cottage is well-kept and was spotless upon arrival - all the white curtains and shades are stainless, I should have asked how that was possible! - the kitchen carries every pot, pan and utensil you can imagine. The inside of the house is like the cabin of a boat, very cosy, well decorated. Every morning we had breakfast outside at the table in the front yard. Warren is a very kind host, both very accessible and totally non-intrusive. We would love to come stay again!
Hi Clara and Mark,
thank you for your kind review. I look forward to hosting you on your next return visit to Wellfleet.
Beautiful location in Wellfleet
The location was great for my group -- close to P-town and several gorgeous kettle ponds, plus it was easily walkable to water in the mornings. The cottage itself was perfectly appointed, with everything you could need and some nice complimentary toiletries. The outdoor shower was delightful, and got rave reviews. It was great to know that our host, Warren, was available next door but gave us lots of space. Overall, we loved it.
Peaceful Pleasant Point
This was our second year staying at Bountiful Cottage. The property is very well kept and the rooms nicely arranged. It is not large but a family of four (or more) is very comfortable in the space. The sleeping porch is especially nice and cool even on hot days. The kitchen is well supplied with good quality cookware, dishes and cutlery. There is a working fireplace in the living room (lovely for chilly nights!) and the outside shower is great--we never used the inside one!
The neighborhood is very quiet in the evenings, and neighbors are friendly. The cottage is very close to the center of Wellfleet (less than a five minute drive, but I would not advise walking to Wellfleet along route 6--no sidewalks and traffic can be quite bad). We rented kayaks from Jack's Boat rental--great area for kayaking!
thank you for your kind review. I was so happy to host you and your family for a second season. Bountiful Cottage is certainly in your hearts now. So happy and grateful to hear you will return in 2018!
Location: 3 miles to Wellfleet center (shops and restaurants). 12 miles to Orleans (shopping centers). 17 miles to Provincetown.
