This particular house has been in our family since the 1950's. Our family has a history of summering in Monument Beach since the 1920's. My mother grew up playing in the park down the street and would stop in to her various relatives homes most days before heading home. As times do change and people pass away, our neighborhood is still a welcoming spot, with warm and friendly neighbors.
My 3 kids and their families joined me for a wonderful week in this lovely home. We LOVED the big beautiful porch with the stunning views of the water and sunset. It was so relaxing to sit and listen to the gulls and enjoy our time together there. The waterfront was especially fun for my grandson who made good use of the many water toys available. The public beach and the children's playground were a short walk away. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed wonderful meals in the large and cozy dining room. The beds are very comfortable and the water views from the bedrooms are amazing to wake up to. All in all, a quiet and comfortable place to unwind. For those who need to commute off the cape, the location is perfect. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. Wish I was back there right now.
We felt like we were home. The grandkids loved the beach. The deck overlooking the bay was divine. Very relaxing. Conveniently located. Treather, our host, was very accommodating.
Pioneer Cottage was the perfect place for our girls get together. We enjoyed our days on the quiet beach, morning coffee and afternoon cocktails on the huge porch with beautiful views of the harbor, and dinners in the spacious dining room. The house was clean and very comfortable and charming and the owners were always available to help us find something in the pantry or to give us recommendations for shopping, dining and art galleries. Everything from beach towels and chairs to a lobster pot and espresso machine was available. We all loved our beach house waterfront location and are planning our next visit.
We just returned from our annual family vacation - and we already miss this great big happy house on the harbor! It may have been steamy everywhere else, but we just jumped in the water or sat in the beautiful breeze! Great house and very kind hostess!
We just loved this house! It was a great place to relax and get away from the city. Carolyn (the owner) was really helpful and really keeps a cozy home. This is definitely not your standard, barebones Cape rental.
Our family loved our stay and only wished we could have stayed longer!
My family and I needed a place to relax and get away from the city. Carolyn's home was perfect. She had everything we needed and we felt right at home.
Carolyn made herself available for any questions about the house and the area.
Monument Beach is a great, undiscovered part of the Cape that we will definitely be coming back to soon!
