About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

The main living area and entry to this unique condo are on the ground floor. The second bedroom and bathroom are located in on the second floor. Your breath will be taken away by the water's apparent closeness and beauty of the surrounding area.

This wonderful location is close to everything you will want to do. It is about an hour drive to Victoria with the provincial capitol buildings, Butchart Gardens and other interesting attractions. The quaint town of Ladysmith is 10 to 15 minutes south, and Nanaimo with its picturesque harbour, restaurants and excellent shopping is 20 to 30 minutes north.

Sports such as fishing from the seasonal 100 ft deep water dock, clamming, swimming, kayaking and hiking just to name a few, make this a terrific location for the entire family's summer vacation.

If you want to get away for a month or more during the coldest parts of the year, and experience Vancouver Island's moderate climate, you will be glad you decided to visit Yellow Point Haven. The fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace and cozy living room with 50 channel TV and DVD player make this a true escape.

Like so many of our guests, you will want to return year after year!

See you soon!

About Scott Dean

Hi. My name is Maureen, and my property is managed by an amazing couple, Scott Dean and Patricia Victor. I am an avid cyclist, triathlete and traveler, and really enjoy the times I can visit the condo, but when I can't, I know that Scott and Patricia will look after everyone very well.

Scott Dean purchased this condo in 2006

Why Scott Dean chose Ladysmith

I was born and brought up in Quebec, but have lived in Western Canada for many years. When you grow up by the ocean, it is never out of your blood, so the purchase of my beautiful BC condo filled a longing for the sea.

What makes this condo unique

The condo is right on the ocean front of Stuart Strait. The day I bought the condo, I looked out of the front window and saw a sailboat, a group of kayakers, some fishermen, and people swimming in the pool and ocean, as well as enjoying the hot tub. I knew then that I had made the right choice! While the setting is idyllic, it has everything a traveler or family could want, is close to Nanaimo, Chemainus, and Victoria, as well as other area attractions. The grounds are beautiful, and the neighbours friendly and helpful.

Excellent view morning, noon and night!

  • 5 of 5

Scott and Patricia have a slice of heaven here. The unit is well-stocked, clean and spacious. Very easy to communicate with the owners. I can't express how wonderful our month long stay was at this condo. To wake up every morning with the calming view of the water was spectacular. This resort has it all - couple on a romantic getaway, family on vacation, business traveler, etc., can find what they need. Heated pool, jacuzzi, rocky beach, adjacent park, playground, tennis court, on-site laundry, private dock and more are available. We plan to return winter or summer because it's that wonderful! Thank you Scott and Patricia!

Beautiful Tranquil Retreat

  • 4 of 5

I loved my nearly two months here. Beautiful views , Well stocked kitchen with all your cooking needs. Comfortable beds ,Attentive Hosts I cant wait to return . Onley drawback was the large window facing the lodge that had no blind or window covering for privacy .You need to be fully dressed before opening your bedroom door to go down to the kitchen for coffee or be on display to everyone in the lodge . This would only be a problem if renting as a two bedroom as the second bedroom is on the second floor and the window without blinds runs the length of the stairway to the second bedroom door. The main bedroom on the ground floor is private .

Owner's Response: Thank ou for your feedback, Susan. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in future. As you can imagine, covering the upper part of the feature window is a very difficult proposition, and as most renters seem to enjoy the extra light it gives, it has been left in its natural state for now, but we have noted your concern and will monitor it in future. Thank you.

Even better than the photos!

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend staying here to anyone wanting a beautiful and relaxing vacation by the sea. From the moment we arrived I was delighted to find that everything was even lovelier than the photos. Close in proximity to many attractions, the choice of whether to be active or not is entirely up to you. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back.

My family sold our family home and had a 50 day wait until we could move into our new home. We came across this listing that had room for our family, and our family dog. Seemed perfect, and while we have been living in Nanaimo for over 15 years, we were not familiar with Yellow Point so we decided to give it a try. Best decision ever!

We arrived at the Inn at the Sea at night and were unable to see just how breathtaking the views were. The condo was perfect, it was clean and bright, and we loved the big windows throughout. Our son loved the spiral staircase to his room on the upper level. We awoke the next morning just blown away by how gorgeous the sunrise was to see, and how close we really were to the water. We loved walking the grounds with our dog, loved the bunnies everywhere, and going in the hot tub and playing around in the tennis courts. It was a short walk to Blue Heron park, and often at nights we would wait until lowest tide and put on our headlamps and walk the shore from the condo to the park, admiring the pockets of white crushed shells and the sea life we encountered. I'd recommend doing this to anyone who stays there, its so much fun!

I would recommend this rental to couples looking for a beautiful get away ( loved it more than the Tigh-na-Mara, 100%) and for families. I would not suggest this place to anyone looking to party, its a quiet place and loud guest can be quite disruptive as everyone is close to eachother.

We would love to go back in the summer to stay and relax and explore more, and to use the pool while it is husband and son dared it a few times in December without heat jumping in and then heading into the hot tub right after. Too crazy for me!

The managers out there and many of the long term stay people were very friendly with us, making us feel at home for the duration of our stay.

We definitely will be back, and have already recommended this place to almost everyone we know!

My piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been coming here for almost 12 years. We absolutely love the location and the quietness. The view is so beautiful.....I love sitting on the patio and looking over the ocean at any time of day or night. Our unit is large, clean and well stocked with everything we need except the groceries. Some of our highlights over the years have been visiting Coombs market...they have goats on the roof, strolling along Qualicum Beach, just a 1/2 hours drive away...the sandy beach just goes on forever. There is a charming pizza place in Ladysmith that has a great special Tues nights and the farmer's market at the Crow and Gate Pub on Sun is a must see. The Pub also is class British Pub on a country road miles from town. People from Victoria make the drive just to sit in the beautiful outdoor garden...and there are lots of gardens in Victoria to choose from.

I could go on and on.....the swimming pool is my favorite place is cantilevered over the cliff and the blue water of the pool combined with the blue of the sky and ocean is quite marvelous. Every morning I walk past the rose garden on my way to a quiet swim to start my day.....heavenly. Be sure to bring some binoculars...have not seen any whales yet, but others have...we just enjoy watching the boats go by while drinking our morning coffee on the patio.

Angela looked after us for many years, now we have Patricia and Scott who have been just as great. They are available by text or email and live just down the road. Each unit is individually owned here which gives this place its charm. Make sure you have the owner;s contact information but really, it does not matter since there is always a helpful person to get a newcomer orientated. One more thing. I mentioned that we have been long time renters....and if we were younger or fully retired would buy a unit here in a heartbeat. Over the years, we have seen the property maintained and improved on...and all improvements are better than the original fixtures. There are at least 2 owners who actually live on site. That speaks volumes to the quality of this place....owners live here too. They keep the place running well, the place is quiet and family orientated and it has quality and charm. Hope you love it as much as we do.
