A small town full of history rooted in ancestral traditions, Uzès is located in Languedoc Roussillon, between Alès and Nîmes. She is the first Duchy of France.

The city developed with the construction of the famous Pont du Gard, which connected the waters of the source of the Eure to Nîmes. Small prosperous city, it became a duchy in 1565, then grows quietly until becoming the charming city that one knows today. Uzès is classified City of Art and History. Take the time to stroll through its city center, which features small shady alleys, large town houses, medieval arcades and turrets of the Renaissance. Lovers of original small businesses will not be disappointed by their visit to the heart of the land of legends. Bouquinistes, bazaars and dream merchants follow one another along the narrowest streets of the city center.

For the sportsmen, many excursions in the neighborhood leave the city. Equestrian center, paragliding and ULM will allow you to discover the region in an original and full of sensations. For the less adventurous, you can walk on one of the marked trails that roam the surrounding hills, and you will discover breathtaking countryside.

The regional products of Languedoc Roussillon are bursting with flavors and originality. Jams in the cauldron, Pays d'Oc wines, virgin olive oils, caramel chocolates ... there is something for everyone! And for a gourmet break that will last all day, take a tour on the farmer's market on Saturday and Wednesday morning. You can do your shopping and bring a basket garni in your rental. The many festivals that animate the streets of the city, summer and winter, promise you a colorful holiday. Shows, exhibitions, plays, choirs and days of discovering the Provençal heritage await you.

During your stay in Uzès, do not miss:

- The Pont du Gard, famous throughout France, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, which dominates the Gard Valley from its height of 48 meters.

- The ducal castle, which was built more than a thousand years ago, and whose lounges, donjon and cellars can be visited.

- The medieval garden, a real living herbarium, which will make you discover many species popular for centuries for their healing and fragrant properties.

- Saint Theodorit Cathedral and its 48 meter Fenestrelle tower, a true symbol of the city.

- The Haribo candy museum, which will delight young and old gourmets. You will discover the colorful world of the famous brand, and can buy candies at the museum shop.

Uzès is an ideal destination, whether it's time for a relaxing weekend or a week of discovery. Enjoy an apartment rental with friends to get closer to the activities of the city center and scented restaurants.

Very close to Avignon, Nîmes, Alès and the Camargue, Uzès reveals an incomparable Provençal charm. The first duchy of France has preserved a beautiful architectural heritage, which illuminates a campaign punctuated by villages where fruit, vineyards and truffle oaks abound.

There is Saint-Rémy Provence in Uzès. Intimacy and a touch of authenticity more, perhaps. The same circular boulevard, the same fountains, the same heritage.

The tourists are not mistaken, they invest the city from the first beautiful days. Many English, Belgian, Swiss, Australian and American have made this city a vacation or second home.

The Harra of the city such as the golf course and the Pont du Gard open leisure possibilities at your fingertips (horse riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, tree climbing, climbing walls, canoeing, golf, swimming ...).

Uzes. Holiday flat, bright close to the historic center, 74m2 for rent.

One bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, en-suite shower. Could sleep 5 people with bed settee in living room. Separate bathroom and 2 WC. The flat is situated in a 17th century building in the historical center of town,

400/500 Euros a week. Quite (all) included (household, taxes, linen).

A lot of charm for this apartment 18th, spacious, bright, in the city center of Uzès, with 7 windows, near the place in herbs and near the historic center. Including big room in the high ceilings with bed in 140 and clicks, lounge with two clicks in 140, small kitchen, bathroom with TOILETS, shower-room and separate TOILETS. Quite pleasantly furnished, with new bedding and dishes (crockery), big screen TV, radio, toaster, etc.

Very close of Avignon and Nimes, Uzes reveals one incomparable Latin charm and a grace. The former (former) duchy of France (kept) a beautiful architectural heritage, which irradiates a campaign (countryside) where fruits abound, vineyards (vines) and truffle oaks.

There is of Saint-Remy of Provence in Uzès. The intimacy and a touch of authenticity moreover, maybe. The same circular boulevard, the same gluttonous fountains, the same disheveled heritage (holdings): the tourists did not make a mistake there, who invest (surround) the city from the first beautiful days.

A stroll to Uzès begins with a touring in its old center. We cross pedestrian streets and trendy shops and especially treasures of architecture there. As the castle of the dukes of Uzès, accessible private object (approachable) to the visit. As the cathedral St. Theodorit and the Tower Fenestrelle, with its false airs (sights) of Leaning Tower of Pisa. As the houses of the Baron of Castile and Chambon Tower, magnificent Mansions.

Country of country (soil) on horseback (by horse) between Provence and Languedoc, Uzège abound in symbolic productions. We find the olive and the apricot, the vineyard and the cherry, the peach and the truffle there. Treasures of the table which we discover by crossing (through going through) fourteen villages surrounding, since a few years by a Parisian clientele. Because he (it) well makes show itself to Uzès! New small Luberon, the region takes the summer of accents come moreover. A vivifying breath which matters for nothing in the incomparable charm of this city (estate) of the Dukes.

  • 5 of 5
