A great Lagoon view with private Garden

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,184 sq. ft.
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

The most authentic Venice in the greenest part of the city center ”….close to St Mark’s Square but far away from the crowd”….that’s how our Guests describe the apartment location. Imagine going to sleep on a bench in front of the Venice lagoon. On the left the Lido of Venice and the beaches, in front of the Island of St. Giorgio and Giudecca , on the right the Arsenale and St. Mark’s Square. Imagine waking up in the morning surrounded by meadows and trees just listening to the cry of seagulls. Now imagine that instead of the bench there is a spacious and bright apartment in a XVIII century home surrounded by greenery and with a beautiful private garden. The colors of the garments hanging out to dry, the artists carrying their easels under their arms, long afternoons sitting in the shades of the magnificent trees of Parco delle Rimembranze (Remembrance Park) or the gardens of the Biennale, a true terrace dominating the lagoon…..everything is reminiscent of an authentic Venetian dimension. All this is the Lagoon Paradise. It is a well kept and stylish apartment consisting of two double rooms with king size bed, a large living room / dining room, a separate kitchen and a bathroom with shower. The living room is spacious and perfect for entertaining guests or relaxing and there is access to a private garden of 120 sqm. The apartment is very bright and sunny from its windows you can admire the Venetian lagoon. In addition, you can also open a comfortable double sofa bed suitable for 2 adults or for children. The apartment is located in the district of 'Castello', the strategic location of Venice. From here all the main attractions (St. Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge and its colorful market, the Biennale, the Basilica della Salute, the Arsenal, etc.) can be reached with a 5 minute “vaporetto” ride or in 20 minutes walk along the Riva degli Schiavoni , capture a slice of carefree, cheerful everyday life while enjoying the breathtaking views of the lagoon. Moreover, the beach of the Lido of Venice can be reached in 10 minutes. The “vaporetto” stop is just 100 meters from the apartment.

If your trip in Italy includes a stop in Rome, do not hesitate to ask since I have an amazing apartment there.

Pleasant apartment in quiet Sant'Elena

  • 4 of 5

Your Italian grandmother's vacation place in Venice. Great for kids. The small private garden is completely secure, so they can go outside and run around a bit unsupervised. There is a nice playground in the lovely park in front of the building and quiet, shady streets for taking walks near home. DON'T FORGET YOUR INSECT REPELLENT! All that beautiful greenery appeals to bugs too, and there are no screens on the windows. The ground floor location makes getting a stroller in and out pretty easy. It's a 90 second walk through the park to the vaporetto stop, which is always convenient, but especially appreciated when you are dragging your bags. From the vaporetto stop you can travel all over the lagoon. Although we took a couple of trips to the small and crowded convenience stores that pass for "supermarkets" in Venice, we found we could get most of what we needed from the little Pane e Salami shop down the street and the produce stand around the corner. We recommend going over to Lido if you need the "supermarket." The one near the vaporetto stop on Lido is slightly less cramped than the one on Via Garibaldi. The apartment is accurately pictured on the VRBO website. I found the bed in the front bedroom to be very, very hard and had to put a comforter underneath me for padding, but my husband and son thought the beds were fine. The kitchen has more dishes and pots and pans than you could possibly want, a cheerfully eclectic assortment of varying vintage. It came with an apron. Yay! Be sure to ask your greeter how to use the stove and the washing machine. It took us a while to figure them out. We used the living room quite a bit; great have that extra space. It was chilly during our visit, so we only got to use the little garden for one lunch, but it was pleasant as long as you have your bug repellent on. The shower was a bit tricky to get used to. We got a lot of water on the floor before we figured out the trick of keeping the glass screen slightly inside the tub, not aligned along the top like it was a shower door. There was no waste basket in the bathroom, but we improvised with an empty cereal box for dental floss and cotton pads. You can sometimes hear people talking as they walk by on the street in front of the building, but the neighborhood is so quiet and secluded that this is rare, and it never happened late at night. All in all, a quiet and pleasant place to recover from the crowds thronging the popular tourist attractions.

A wonderful location in a magical city

  • 4 of 5

The property is part of a beautiful house in a tree lined setting looking directly out to the Lagoon and the Lido. The Vaporetta stop is a minute away and the boats can take you directly to the Lido or round the Lagoon to the Grand Canal and beyond. (It is well worth buying a tourist ticket for a week, if staying that long, so that one can easily access the buses on the Lido to the quieter beach areas, as well as the Vaporetta). We also enjoyed walking into the centre and around Castello region; the main touristic attractions such as the Doge's Palace are much quieter in the evenings. It is wonderful to sit on one of the nearby benches reading while looking out to the islands and the Doge's Palace.

The appartment itself is spacious and comfortable with efficient air conditioning. The only slight downside is that the plates, cups and bowls badly need renewing. Not much of a problem really when compared with the benefits of the location. We will aim to return to this appartment as soon as possible!

most convenient location in venice, especially for children

  • 5 of 5

you couldn't pick a more convenient spot in venice, with the vaporetto stop just across the park, a lovely back garden and playground just outside for the kids. it's the part of venice where real venetians live, and shopping is very convenient - just ten minutes walking to via garibaldi or ten minutes on the boat to lido. if you don't want to travel for food, there is a shop next door, a fruit and vegetable seller around the corner, and two cafes within a minute's walk. the house is very large by venetian standards, and extremely comfortable, with the heat under our control, a bathtub, a large fridge, a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable queen sized beds (european kingsize). there are three steps up to the front door, and one step to the back garden. you can look out the front windows to see the park and the lagoon, and out the back to see the garden full of greenery. it's extremely quiet and peaceful, and there are no tourists there except for you. if they'd sell it to us, we would buy it and live there.

Perfect place

  • 5 of 5

That was a perfect place with everything that you need and more.

We've been in this apartment for 4 days and we did not want to leave it. The location is great - there is a supermarket a minute walk away, bars and of course the San Marco square (15 min walk).

Guido was very kind and hospitable. He answered all our questions and told us what we need to know about our vacation in Venice.

Perfect place to stay in the most wonderful city :)

We can not wait to go back.

A Perfect Place for a Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the True Venice apartment was a wonderful experience. Not only is the accommodation in the authentic Venetian style, but its convenience was perfect. The apartment is opposite a park which leads to the vaporetto stop of St Elena, so it was extremely convenient. The playground in the park also proved to be a hit with our children. The apartment was also within walking distance of St Marks square, which made it ideal for sight seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Venice.

A perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

I recently had the opportunity to spend one night in this two bedroom, one bath apartment in S. Elena.

It is a beautiful well equipped apartment in a quiet area. Perfect for relaxing after a day visiting all of the must sees of Venice. The first thing you see as you come into the entrance way is out the back door to the private garden. I was here in November. It must be magnificent in summer…just the place for an alfresco meal at the table for six. And also perfect for escaping the crowds and heat that can be in Venice in the summer.

The two bedrooms are separated by the central hall way making it perfect for couples traveling together or families. The large bathroom has a tub/shower combo.

There is a well equipped eat in kitchen as well as dining for four at a nice table in the living room.

My only regret is that I did not have enough time to take advantage of every thing this beautiful apartment has to offer.

Guy is your charming host and more than willing to answer all questions…no matter how inane or how many times he has answered them before.

Yes, I would return and recommend this apartment to my friends…in fact I just did.

By the way…if you are looking for the cutlery…it’s in the drawer in the kitchen table.
