Come to a delightful woodland setting next to the State Forest. Our two-story, year-round Cape sits on one-and-a-half acres --- just a short walk from the State Forest bike path and Greenlands trails. Bright & airy with ceiling fans throughout --- and Air-Conditioning if needed, this well-appointed home sleeps six comfortably. We have a well-equipped kitchen with a five-seat breakfast counter, a new gas stovetop with electric oven and a new fridge. The dining room table seats six people. Three attractively decorated bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs, offer comfortable bedding: two queens and two singles. Bed linens are provided (but not towels). We also have owner-transferable ferry boat tickets for your car for July and August if you need them. See details below.
On the first floor, the living room has a bay window view overlooking one of our flower gardens. French doors lead to a lovely cathedral-ceiling sun room where we provide Wi-Fi internet, cable TV, BluRay/ DVD and a CD player/radio. Beyond the kitchen, a full-size laundry is adjacent to the first floor bath. An elegant first floor bedroom with queen bed is nearby. The dining room looks out on to a large rear sundeck and an extensive lawn surrounded by woods.
The second floor has a spacious master bedroom with a queen-size bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds, and a full bath in between. Hardwood floors run throughout the house.
Outdoors you will find front and rear sun decks with decorative flower boxes, a large teak table with umbrella that seats eight, a grill patio with a Weber gas grill and a charcoal grill. Enjoy a soothing private outdoor shower. Take a nap in our hammock. Play croquet. Our house and its grounds give families lots of room to spread out in a tranquil wooded environment. Flowers are everywhere.
As our guests, you will have access to West Tisbury's private Lambert's Cove Beach, a nearby private association swimming pool and the use of a tennis court, both nestled in the woods. We also have Beach Chairs for your use in the basement. The house is centrally located on the island within easy reach of Vineyard towns and attractions.
While the house sleeps six comfortably, it also makes the perfect, romantic getaway for a couple, both during summer and in the off-season when rates are lower and crowds have thinned. Spring and Fall on the Vineyard are lovely.
Accessibility: A three-step entry way with a solid handrail and a comfortable first floor bedroom, bath and laundry make this home more accessible for elderly guests. Our no-pets and no-smoking policies help to reduce allergens.
We have owner-transferable Steamship Authority Ferry Boat Tickets for your car for July 1-8, 2017 and August 19-26, available for transfer at cost if you need them. Call for details when booking.

We had a great time and the house was just what we were hoping for. We have been to other venues and been disappointed but not with this vacation. We appreciate the condition and care that was represented here. In fact, we would like to stay for the same time frame next year.
The home is beautiful, simple but clean and very homey. It's very well maintained and has a great yard. The owner is extremely nice and attentive. Highly recommended.
The weather was great! The house is conveniently located to access the whole island and all it's activities. The home is private, quiet and close to great walking trails.Owner (Ted) was great to work with! We had all the amenities we needed to enjoy a fall vacation.
Just came back from our July 2011 visit to our beloved Martha's Vineyard and our West Tisbuy (rental) home. We've rented at this house for many years and have enjoyed it each and every time. We always find it in pristine condition (and we've been to other places about which we cannot say the same thing).
It's a cozy and comfortable MV house with a beautiful backyard; secluded, peaceful and quiet. The house is equipped with just about anything you might need for a perfect week on the island. There's a well-equipped kitchen, dining tables inside and out, a brand new Weber gas grill for cooking some just-caught seafood, TV (which we rarely use), radio and cd player. And, oh yes, just in case you feel you can't be totally on vacation - there's a wireless router with speedy internet access to keep you "connected."
There's also a very-close-by tennis court and large swimming pool for your use.
The best part - the house is situated just yards from the Cornellus State Forest with its fabulous bike path - an achingly beautiful bike/ped path that runs through open meadows and pine forests. Our morning trek takes us from the house to 7A (a new coffee/takeout spot) behind Alley's General Store - 5 miles each way. It's paradise!
We hope to return many more times in the years ahead. Thanks to Jane and Ted for providing the perfect getaway - a home away from home.

My friends and I stayed at this home for a weekend in late Septemeber. We were visiting Martha's Vineyard for my son's wedding and our stay at this home only added to a perfect weekend! The home was clean, the furnishings were top-end and tasteful, and the yard and surrounding areas were immaculatey maintained. The owner was a pleasure to work with and was honest in his dealings with me. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, centrally located home to stay in while visiting Martha's Vineyard then this is the place to be!
