The interior is impeccably maintained with brand new furniture throughout. There are French doors to a breezy, sunny deck right off the modern, complete kitchen. The deck has a large umbrella table that seats six-eight for comfortable outdoor dining. Off the kitchen there is also a beautiful screened porch with cozy rattan furniture.
On the first floor, besides the eat-in kitchen, is an airy, well-lit living room, two bedrooms (each accommodating 2 people), and a full bath with tub and shower. The master bedroom on the second floor has its own French doors to a private deck and a full bath. There is a carpeted, open, child-friendly area on the second floor for reading, games, watching movies, etc. The basement has a ping pong table, washer and dryer, beach chairs, beach umbrella, raft and boogie boards for your use while at the house. Large well-placed windows offer wonderful west light and ceiling fans for maximum ventilation. An enclosed outdoor shower adds to the beach experience.
June 20th - June 27th price reduction: Besides walking to the beach and ponds, our house is a five minute bike ride to Wellfleet town center - extremely easy access for a quick errand or breakfast out with the family. Wellfleet is known as the art gallery town. There are artist openings every Saturday evening with lovely parties that are open and free to visitors. There are also concerts all summer long at various locales throughout town, as well as, the Wellfleet Actors Theater, and the authentic 1950's-style drive-in movie, which doubles as a terrific flea market during the day.
The public bike trail is close by and available for walking, biking and roller blading, it stretches for 26 miles. Great Island (5 minute drive from the house) and the Autobahn Society (10 minute drive0 also provide exquisite scenic hiking and birding, as well as guided canoe trips and beautiful kayaking through miles of tidal marsh.
Cultural and outdoor activities abound not only in Wellfleet, but in Truro (5 minutes from the house ) and in Provincetown (20 minutes away).
My family and I absolutely love this spacious, modern, and airy home and have visited it several times. Privately situated at the edge of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the house is an easy and pleasant walk through the woods to the private swimming at Higgins Pond and to family-oriented Gull Pond. The house has three beautiful decks. The front deck is wide and open and has a comfortable porch swing. My family’s favorite feature of the house is the large, enclosed outdoor shower located off this deck. After a long day at the beach or pond, we all race to see who gets to use it first. The second deck is at the rear of the house, off the dining room. Overlooking the woods, it has a gas grill and a lovely glass table with cushioned chairs. The house is cool, open, and immaculately clean. It has been impeccably furnished in a modern, minimalist Cape beach style. There are two cozy bedrooms downstairs, each of which easily sleeps two, and a full bath. The bright and breezy master bedroom is upstairs, along with another full bath and a large and comfortable sitting area with a tv and dvd player. The third, private deck is attached to the master bedroom. The owners, Richard and Elizabeth, are very friendly and accessible, and have been terrific to deal with. When we had a minor issue arise one year with one of the beds, Richard arranged to have it repaired immediately. We have especially loved the privacy and the simplicity of the house. Each time we have visited, we have left feeling renewed and refreshed.
What a lovely, lovely place! I hope to come back for many summers with my family. The house is outfitted quite nicely and located in a quiet, pristine location. I am grateful for a summer filled with such great memories.

My husband and I recently spent a week at this quite comfortable, if a bit off the beaten track, cottage in the woods bordering the National Seashore in beautiful Wellfleet. We numbered four, actually, including our teenage daughter and her friend. Even so, we were all able to enjoy both together, and alone time, in this spacious enough house. The accommodations were quite well kept and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch in the evening. Although it is possible to walk to Newcombe Hollow Beach from the house, it is a somewhat arduous trek of approximately a half hour. It is much more feasible and comfortable to drive to this quite picturesque and beautiful beach. The drive is about ten minutes. Parking at the beach requires a pass that is easily attainable in town. A walk to the nearby ponds is much more easily achieved, and also takes about 10 minutes. These ponds are swimmable, and quite nice.
The house was well supplied for cooking and grilling. A good time was had by us all!!
This is our second year in this lovely home and we plan to return next year. I am always a bit apprehensive to return to the same vacation place thinking that the second time can't possibly be as wonderful but our stay this year in the Rubin home was fantastic. I highly recommend this place.
This is a wonderful home full of comfortable rooms, furniture and space for everyone's needs whether one is an indoor or an outdoor person. One (almost) wishes for an occasional rainy day to just hang out and read, play games, etc.
It is tastefully decorated with a comfortable lived in but contemporary feel. The first floor has an open floor plan with a vaulted ceiling in the kitchen and an adjacent large deck and screened in porch. We had many memorable family meals and conversations at the large kitchen table or on the deck.
The home feels secluded and private even though it is just a quick drive to Wellfleet center for supplies, dining or a gallery walk. A ten minute walk through the National Seashore woods takes you to lovely Higgins Pond where the swimming is divine. There is easy access to route 6 for a trip to Provincetown or to South Wellfleet and the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
We are already longing for our next trip here
We stayed here in July / August 2016 and absolutely loved the home, the grounds, the cleanliness and the quality of EVERYTHING at the home. From the bedding, to the kitchen equipment, bikes, and outdoor shower, it was first class all the way.
Additionally, the location of this home is perfect, close to mini markets, ponds, beach and yet peaceful and quiet.
Our adult-ish kids joined us for a few days and the home was comfortable, even for 6.
We highly recommend this home and cannot wait to return next summer.
Well done is better than well said, and everything was well done! Thanks Elizabeth, thanks Richard, we appreciate your sharing your home with us.

Recently returned from a wonderful Wellfleet vacation with best friends from NYC, Buffalo and Boston. This rental has great outdoor and indoor spaces to be together and also to catch a little time alone. It works perfectly for 6 people. The 2 outdoor decks ( one with a grill) and a screened-in porch were perfect as were the 2 indoor living rooms. The house is very clean, comfortable and airy. Lot's of options for hanging, playing games, eating together, reading, relaxing and just having a good time.
We loved our many walks to the ocean and kettle ponds. The swimming was exquisite and we loved our outdoor showers upon return. We hardly needed our cars! The rental process was efficient and communication prompt. We look forward to going back next year.
Lovely, well organized and well taken care of home at the edge of the neighborhood so you can walk out to a wooded path and down to the pond without seeing anyone else but also are a quick ride into Wellfleet for a visit to Hatches or Macs. We loved that you can also walk further and get to the beach - many days we never got in the car. And great outside shower.
This is a charming contemporary Cape on a private wooded lot abutting the National Seashore. From the front door you can take a short stroll on a quiet path through the woods to Gull Pond and the pristine sluice way that connects Gull and Higgins ponds. The ocean beach is either a five minute drive or a 20 minute peaceful walk through the National Seashore woods.
