Nice, quiet apartment in a easy-to-reach location
My husband and I spent five nights in Joseph's apartment. It's not fancy, but it was clean and quiet and perfect for two people. The bed was comfortable and there was good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. It was close to two metro lines and near the Seine so we were able to reach many destinations by walking. The apartment is not air-conditioned, but we did not need it in late June. In fact, we closed our windows at night because the temperatures got a bit chilly. There was a washing machine in the kitchen, but no dryer; however, there was a large drying rack. There was a boulangerie/patisserie on the corner very close to the apartment so we would just pop in there to get our breakfast croissants. There is a bio (organic) market across the street, and a Franprix (grocery store) just a block or two down Blvd Henri IV. One night we enjoyed a meal at Le Temps des Cerises, a restaurant just steps away from the apartment. This apartment is on the second floor (the American third floor) and overlooks courtyards on both sides. Joseph was a very kind and accommodating host and he was waiting there to meet us when we arrived. I think this apartment is a very good value for Paris and much better than staying in a hotel.
You were perfect guests and it was a pleasure to welcome you at my place
Lovely apartment in a lovely neighborhood
Joseph's apartment fit our needs very well for our stay in Paris. The location is great! It is a wonderful old walking neighborhood close to the Seine. The apartment is remarkably quiet. We really appreciated the amenities including WiFi, washer, and shower. It would have been nice to have a few more kitchen utensils, such as a decent knife or spatula, and a couple of kitchen towels, but other than that it was great.
Thanks for having us!
Great apartment, great location!
This was our first visit to Paris, our host was awesome, everything went very smoothly, super easy to walk to apartment from metro stop and the “area” around the apartment - you didn’t have to walk farther than a minute or two to find anything you needed. Apartment itself was pleasantly cozy, but had plenty of room too. Lovely! Highly recommend!
It was a pleasure to have you at home.
You were perfect guests.
Good luck !
Lovely quiet simple
Joseph has a lovely little apartment in a very quiet area close to Metro and center of the Marais and the Bastille. Its was very clean and equipped for all we needed.
Perfect quiet central Paris apartment
Joseph was a wonderful host, and his apartment is well-situated in the 4th arrondissement between two metro stations -- Bastille and Sully-Morland. The apartment has a nice kitchen which I made use of every night I stayed there -- I like to eat a nice lunch out and then eat in for dinner and cook (the Marche d'Aligre, where you can buy all the fresh produce you desire as well as cheese, meat, seafood, etc) is a short walk away or one stop down on the metro from the Bastille station). Most apartments I've stayed in have had tiny kitchens with not a lot of equipment, but this was well-equipped. Also, this has to be the quietest apartment I've stayed at in Paris. I rarely heard any neighbors and no street noise at all -- it's nicely tucked away and the windows face courtyards on both sides. I resided here for a little over a week and would stay here again. Highly recommend :)
My wife and I stayed at this property from 5th to 10th July 2017. It is very comfortable and clean and extremely quiet. If you favour the Marais /Bastille area it is ideally situated for walking to many of the places you will be familiar with. The Iles and access to the Left Bank are also within easy reach. The journey from Paris Nord to Bastille by Metro is both short and straight forward, and the apartment is quite near the Metro station.
On our arrival, we were met by Joseph, who was very friendly, helpful and informative- if you need to know anything just ask and he will do his best to help you. We had great weather, and in fact for the most part it proved to be the build up to, and culmination of a heatwave!
What a bonus that the property remained cool even at its peak. We visited a few new places as well as old favourites and had one of the best holidays ever. This was our first stay in Paris not in a hotel, and we'd thoroughly recommend it as an alternative, it really is as near as you could feel to being a Parisian.
