Perfect August Vacation

We had a perfect August vacation week at this cottage. There is nothing like being able to walk to the beach. This home had a very short walk to the private beach so that meant we could go to the beach any time we liked. It could not have been more than a couple of minutes to walk to the beach. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well maintained. We had everything we could possibly need. The owner was highly organized and a pleasure to deal with. We also walked to the marketplace several times. It is a quaint collection of shops, small restaurants, bike rentals, mini golf, etc. You can find the best lobster rolls there and there were free concerts on the weekend. The marketplace is a great place for families to hang out after a day at the beach. We also walked to the Lure raw bar, a waterfront raw bar with just amazing views of the ocean. This cottage was wonderful! Can ’t wait to rent this place again!

Great stay!

First time at the Cape and we picked a great location. The community is great - small but it's the perfect size for a getaway. The beach is very clean and water warmer than expected. The condo was bigger than expected. It was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. I don't think more adults would work. It was very clean well maintained. I don't have any complaints besides needing A/C. The first half of the week the humidity was very high and after being at the beach or going for a bike ride it would have been nice to come home to refreshing A/C. We had every window open and fans running but it just didn't seem to cut it. Otherwise we enjoyed our time there. The marketplace was ok. Mashpee commons was better to walk around. It's a great spot to have day trips from. There are plenty of trails for old and young. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend Chris's place.

Loved staying at this property! Family friendly, clean,and a short walk to the beautiful beach! Chris was always available , replying to emails promptly ! Hope to visit again in the future..... Very pleased :-)

Lovely, clean, well-maintained cottage

This cottage is what I expected Cape Cod to be. GREAT location, well-maintained, clean and easy access to the private beach. The rooms comfortable but I would not recommend sleeping 6 adults - adults with kids, sure. The owner was very responsive and helpful. My only complaint is you have to have all the towels washed and dried before leaving - check out is at 9:30 a.m. - so if you have morning "bathers" this is a problem. Otherwise - great property.

Owner's Response: Thanks again for renting this year and thanks for the positive review. It sure is a great beach location and cleanliness is always priority #1.Renters often comment on the fact that it is clean and well-maintained just as you did. I agree with you that the property is not well suited for six adults and we will never knowingly rent it to that many adults. The target audience is two adults traveling with two or three children. Sometimes there are three adults and two to three children. It is also ideal for a party of two couples sharing a rental and that often happens in the off season for a long weekend stay. In 13 years, we have never charged a cleaning fee but we do ask that guests toss the towels in the washer and dryer on the way out. If someone cannot do this then we can always discuss the options. Nearly everyone else charges a cleaning fee of $125-$150. One of the frequent requests over the years, especially for weekly summer rentals is earlier check-ins. So we have experimented with a one hour moved up check-in time on this home so that renters could arrive by 2 PM and still spend the afternoon at the beach. To do that, we had to give up 30 minutes on the check-out end to allow enough time for cleaning. The response to this has been overwhelmingly positive and we can always try to adjust these times for most guests. Most guests prefer to arrive earlier and find the check-in and check-out times advantageous in terms of traffic on and off the cape. Thanks again for renting.

Walk to Popponesset Marketplace and enjoy free concerts, shopping, mini golf, restaurants, a coffee shop, a general store, bike rentals and a Ice Cream shop. The Raw Bar at the Marketplace is famous for the best lobster roll in New England.

A short trip to Mashpee Commons where you will find many unique shops, restaurants, movie theaters, Starbucks, etc.

Easy day trip to the islands from nearby Falmouth or Hyannis.

Other Activities: Walk to beach, marketplace, Poppy Inn, short drive to Mashpee Commons
