Beautifully remodeled 3 bedroom/ 2 bath farmhouse. Nestled in a quiet field overlooking Gorham Mountain. This house is just 1 mile from hiking and biking in Acadia National Park or lying on the beach. Just 4 miles from Bar Harbor on the free public transportation loop. Great location for day and evening activities or just sitting and watching sunsets off the back deck. Recent kitchen and bath remodels great for large families. Relax on the deck, while taking in the mountains, sunset and moon rise. Great place for children. Brand new hot tub outside on the back deck. Wood floors throughout. The downstairs is very sunny and open. Because this is our real home, the kitchen is fully stocked with all the basics plus many extras. The master bedroom has its own marbled tile bathroom with a large shower. There is a den on the first floor that has a very cozy pullout couch (seriously, I bought it for MY parents) and bathroom right next to it, for those not comfortable going up and down stairs. In the bathrooms, soaps and shampoos are provided, as flying with theses items is so difficult! Our home is simple, but the linens and towels are always of high quality, so you feel spoiled on your vacation. As nurses we keep it VERY CLEAN! There is an apartment as well for those who need an extra bedroom, or a bit more privacy. The apartment is a walkout basement one, with planty of light. It is very peaceful down there.

With the lovely view of Gorham Mountain, we don't feel the need to go out and about. Its been lovely talking to Angela and Chris' (7/11)

New addition with a full bathroom added in 2010. We have been told by all our friends who rent- why are you renting this for so cheap?! It really is a beautiful home!
We are a married couple who work as Nurse Practitioners in the area. Angie spent years as a Registered Maine Guide leading Kayak trips around Mount Desert Island. We have been renting out our home in the summer for the past 13 years. We started doing this when we moved away for a three year stint. When we returned, people still called, wanting our home back in the summer. We have had a great time renting our home, and have met wonderful people along the way.
Angie and Chris purchased this house in 1998
We have always loved Acadia National Park. When I graduated college, I knew I wanted to stay in the area. As a kayak guide for 10 years, I wanted to be near the ocean. From our house I can hear the bell bouy in Otter Cove. I never get over the veiw of sunrise from our bedroom windows. I havent always loved our home. As a 100 year old farmhouse, it had gone through several renovations over the years. It has been an ongoing progect, that we are finally winning! Renting out our property has helped us fund these projects along the way. We just put on a new wrap aroun deck and air sealed the basement and kitchen ceiling!
We have a wonderful location that is peaceful, yet close to town. The house is spacious with lots of stuff for the kids to do. There is a den, living room, large kitchen and sunroom all on the first floor. Even on a rainy day one would not feel like you were all on top of each other. If you need the extra privacy, there is the added apartment downstairs. We love dogs, and they are welcome, but we also have allergies and ask that you pay an extra cleaning fee and keep them off the furniture. Acadia is a great place for dogs! As is our huge back yard!
Quiet- yet close to Bar Harbor. On free shuttle loop- flag the propane bus down from the top of the driveway. Lots of space for large groups.
We were more than pleased with choosing this beautiful home. We felt completely comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. There were 9 of us staying there and 2 family members who visited everyday. Angie and Chris have a beautiful home, it is very clean and well maintained. We cooked and/or grilled everyday, what fun with the family....The kids could play on the tree swings or just run around the yard, no worries. It was very easy access to all of the activities we like to do when we are in Bar Harbor, from going into Bar Harbor to shop, going to a water activity or going hiking. Some of our family hiked Gorham Mountain which is the view from the deck. Once they reached the top, they let us know, we couldn't see them for sure, but we reflected our I-Pad off the sun and they could see us, it was very exciting. We just love coming to Bar Harbor, now we know we have a home there, we can't wait for 2018. Thank you Angie and Chris for such a wonderful week. We will see you in two years... Kathy and family
We had another great week at this great house! Plenty space for the 10 of us. House is very clean and stocked with everything you need. Backyard is spacious and private. Park was so busy but was happy the house is minutes from some great trails that we used to hike into the park and didn't need the car.
We loved the house , felt like it was our own, we appreciate you opening your home up to us
What a wonderful place! The farmhouse has everything for a family to settle into for a great week away. Spectacular view of Gorham mountain from the back deck, comfortable bedrooms, renovated and fully stocked kitchen. Location is also perfect - just a short drive into Bar Harbor or the park itself. Did we mention there is a hot tub ?!
Angie and Chris were fantastic hosts, made sure everything was as we needed.
Our extended family (5 kids, 6 adults) had one of our best vacations ever here and we can't wait to come back.
We had a great vacation. House perfectly fit needs of the five of us – husband/wife and 2 adult daughters in upstairs BRs, and brother-in-law who used the basement apartment.
We were impressed at the modern renovation of a charming farm house. The owners thought of everything – kitchen gadgets, beach towels, games, puzzles, pantry items, and even a fully stocked first aid kit. Hot tub was used every day.
The location was perfect. We did not want to deal with the traffic and congestion of Bar Harbor and instead had serene and ever changing views of a mountain from the deck. Very easy access to the Park Loop Road, Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor.
Owners were extremely accommodating and helpful in making our stay comfortable and fun. We highly recommend this house for any family wanting to stay off the beaten path yet close to Acadia’s recreational amenities.
There were five families that stayed here. Mom, three daughters, and a grand daughter, with their families. We used the apartment in the basement which was spectacular! The house was gorgeous with all the amenities one could want, including a hot tub at the end of the day after hiking the Acadia trails. We had an awesome time! Couldn't have asked for a better place with all it's charm. The location was absolutely perfect! If we go again, I would not hesitate to stay here. Will definitely recommend it to everyone I meet. Enjoy the park too!
Acadia National Park surrounds Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island. There are over 100 miles of carriage roads that one can walk or bike, or horseback ride on. Some even offer horse drawn carriage rides. There are both ocean and lake beaches in and outside of the Park to swim and picnic at. There are miles of hikes on trails over the mountains, for all abilities, from the toddler to avid hiker. Bar Harbor is a historical tourist destination. There is a history of the golden days when Bar Harbor was called 'Eden'. There are museums, art galleries, restaurants, tours of the Park. For those who prefer the water sports, there is sailing, kayaking, power boating, whale watching, and deep sea fishing. For the brave, the scuba diving is apparently quite interesting. Mount Desert Island is the perfect place for a family vacation. It has everything a variety of people could want, all in a close region. It is beautiful here.

We have a walkout basement apartment that is available to rent. This is great for teens or the in-laws who want a bit more privacy- or simply as an extra bedroom. It has a queen bed, futon couch, bathroom, TV. There is also a small kitchen and fridge which is great for large families who need the kitchen space overflow. The cost for this extra room is 400 dollars a week.
