Florence With a View runs three apartments: Santa Maria, San Giovanni and Studio with a View apartments. The windows open up to the Baptistry, Giotto's Tower, and the Duomo, offering stunning and unique views over the most important monuments in town. Whether on holiday in Florence or just passing through, or here for business or study, the visitor can choose to live in this historical and elegant building, with a concierge. It’s like having your own home for a few days in the Renaissance center of Florence, where you can study, paint, read, invite friends for dinner or even receive personal art lessons.
During the first years of the twentieth century the Santa Maria apartment was the Indian Embassy in Florence. The ceiling of the beautiful master bedroom is completely decorated and frescoed, with a frieze of unique and ancient Indian sacred art. A charming room of a thousand colours, romantic and unique of its kind not only in Florence but also in Italy.Santa Maria and San Giovanni apartments are on the third floor of a historical Florentine building, on the corner of Piazza Duomo, only a short walk from the Accademy Gallery, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza Signoria and Palazzo Vecchio. The shared roof terrace of the building overlooks the monumental centre of Florence, with views also over the surrounding hills, from San Miniato al Monte to Fiesole on the oldest 'Etruscan' hill, from Forte Belvedere to Piazzale Michelangelo. The San Giovanni and Santa Maria apartments offer you the chance to visit Florence in a different way, to discover new and hidden aspects of the city, a unique and unrepeatable experience. Studio With a View is an unforgettable experience, only for few selected guests: the Studio has a large room wit a large sofa bed. The most desired in Florence and in the world.
Santa Maria is a luxury apartment in the heart of Florence. It's on the third floor of a historical building in via Roma, right on the corner of Piazza del Duomo in Florence. The building has a doorman and an elevator and in the apartment you find all the modern comforts you need for your holiday: fully air conditioned, a top speed WIFI,microwaves, Nespresso coffee machine. Very silent thanks to the double windows. A spacious living room furnished with a combination of modern and antique flair, comfortable sofas and a big table for your dinner. The master bedroom is known as the Ambassador room: it has stunning details as the ceiling intricately designed and has custom made mosaics throughout. The second bedroom is comfortable and charming. Two large bathrooms equipped with hair dryer . The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking your Italian dinner. From each windows you can enjoy a stunning view over the Giotto's Tower, the Baptistry and the Duomo. Enjoy the roof shared terrace.
The Santa Maria Apartment is exactly as it is in the pictures, only the pictures don't place you in the actual apartment! It's a fantastic location, right in the heart of Florence. It's such a lovely place, that you want to make sure you have enough time to actually stay in the apartment instead of exploring Florence!
The Santa Maria apartment was beautiful, looked better than the pictures, and the location was ideal. The check in/check out process was seamless There was also a wonderful gift of wine and goodies for our us when we checked in. Igor was a pleasure to deal with.
Our family stayed for 8 nights in this 3rd floor, 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Duomo. The interior is richly appointed with carved wooden ceilings, beautiful inlay tile floor and has fantastic views of the Duomo, Baptistry and Bell Tower. The owners are very accommodating and the apartment has a kitchen, 2 bathrooms and internet. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit. Ciao!
I can't say enough about the size and location of this property. This was our first time in Italy for the Christmas season and it was spectacular.
The entrance to the apartment is next to the Prada store (off to a good start) and Doumo with pedestrian square can be seen from all windows. The view from the roof deck was equally amazing. I imagine having a glass of wine in the summer season would be great
We were greeted with a gift basket of wine and snacks along with a quick orientation of the property. The size of the apartment was perfect for 2 Adults and 3 teens. Rooms were very nice, especially the master bedroom with its hand carved ceiling. Bedding was also very comfortable. The washer/drier combo was helpful given we were in Italy for 2.5 weeks and packed lightly. I would like to say we made use of the kitchen, however we couldn't pass up all of the great Italian restaurants. It was a nice touch that espresso pods were in the cupboard
Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy (if not the world) and the Santa Maria Apartment will make anyones stay even more magical. Awesome location (you will not need a car/nor taxi) inspiring views (from both the apartment and the dedicated section in the roof terrace), great furnishings (very comfortable and clean), and unique architectural features will leave you feeling you would have booked a longer stay. The owners were very attentive...and Garage Giglio even delivered our car to our front door therefore avoiding complicated driving in this prime location (you can make a reservation but you pay them when they drop off the car).
I rarely write reviews but I am compelled to do so as our experience with this apartment was wonderful. I would recommend it without hesitation.
The apartment was plenty large enough to accommodate 6 adults for a 3 day weekend. It is advertised as a two bedroom but the living room (which is huge) has a comfortable pullout sofa and doors for privacy. It easily qualifies as a 3rd bedroom. Because the apartment is well laid out, the kitchen/bathrooms and the front door can be accessed without disturbing anyone in the bedrooms. The 12 foot ceilings and 8 foot windows cap off the really extraordinary space. We could have comfortably stayed there for a week or a month. The building itself is classic--it must be 150 years old with very thick walls, old fashioned but well-functioning elevator and exactly the type of charm one would hope to find.
As for the location, it simply doesn't get better if you want to be in the center of the action. You are literally in the Duomo Piazza--and every room has a view of it.
The apartment was very clean, well-appointed and nicely decorated. It has all the amenities and storage you could ask for. Kitchen and bathrooms more than met the requirements of a high-end apartment rental.
As for check-in and check-out, Igor was very accommodating and everything happened when and how he said it would. He was pleasant and professional.
Before renting this apartment, most of the high-end hotels were nearly sold out. We tried to get rooms at the St. Regis, Four Seasons and the Savoy. If they had a room available, it was more than double the price of this apartment per night and could only accommodate 3 people at the most. I enjoy staying at nice hotels and all of the pampering that goes along with it, but our stay at this apartment made us feel like locals for the weekend--which was far more enjoyable.
In summary, compared to any high-end hotel in Florence and probably every mid-range hotel and B&B, this apartment is an extraordinary value. Were we to come back to Florence we would seek out this place again in a minute.
The Baptistery of San Giovanni, Piazza Duomo, Brunelleschi's Dome, Giotto's bell tower. The historic and sacred heart of Florence, visited every year by millions of tourists. One of the most famous places in the world. And yet there are still many secrets and much hidden charm to be discovered here. Off the beaten track of mass tourism and well-known postcard views.
