About Gloria Coronado
James has lived in Portland for the past 12 years, and I have been in here for 6. We love everything outdoors in the Northwest summers -- hiking, biking, backyard bar-be-ques. We also love to travel, and have traveled extensively in Mexico, Central America, South America, and Europe. We have enjoyed finding places to stay on Vacation Rental By Owner. James is in the Environmental Engineering field, and I do health systems research. Casa Jubilee was a labor of love -- we built it with our own retirement in mind. We hope to one day spend summers in the Northwest, living in Casa Jubilee, and spend winters in the Southern Hemisphere. In the meantime, we hope that Casa Jubilee can provide a home for travelers who enjoy a quiet neighborhood, during their stay in Portland. The home is comfortable -- with a full kitchen, fireplace, and high ceilings. If you are new to Portland, the city is known for it great coffee shops, craft beers, bridges, amazing restaurants. The city has a casual 'come-as-you-are' sensibility that can be refreshing for some. Our hope is that our home can contribute to a relaxed and comfortable stay in Portland.

Why Gloria Coronado chose Grant Park
Casa Jubilee is located in one of the best neighborhood in Portland -- however, I have to say that everyone I have met in Portland believe that they live in the best neighborhood. But Hollywood is the best neighborhood and we can prove it because we used to live in another neighborhood that we thought as pretty cool -- and Hollywood is even better! The neighborhood is quiet and serene, full of tree-lined streets and neighbors walking their dogs. We are a short walk to the MAX station. And, there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and even the public library, that are within a short walking distance. We also love the neighborhood for its Farmers Market, local theater, and nearby parks (e.g. Grant Park, where we play tennis on weekends).
What makes this Guest House unique
We built the home with our own interests in mind. We wanted a modern open-concept design and space that was convertible. For this reason, we asked a local builder to construct a Murphy bed. This allows the bedroom to become a living room or space for entertaining. We also knew that we needed some conveniences --- like a washer and dryer and full kitchen. The gas fireplace was a must for us, as it sets a cozy mood. As we await our retirement, we hope that the home can serve as a resting spot for travelers who enjoy staying in neighborhoods as much as we do when we travel.

Wonderful location and amenities!
This is Portland at it's best! Quiet street, beautiful trees and homes, you can explore the neighborhood on foot as it's 2 blocks from Whole Foods and all the shops and restaurants on Sandy blvd... Everyone is so friendly, stay here and you become a local, lol!
