The pictures don't do this lovely home justice!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Castle View Home for 8 guests. We were all instantly enamoured with the property. It is a lovely home, so well appointed. The beds were so comfortable...the bathrooms perfect...the amenities were all we could have asked for and more. The views are magnificent. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was!!! The town was quaint and welcoming. We were very satisfied with the Centra store/gas station, and an Aldi about 8 miles away. The Tower Pub at the bottom of the hill was inviting and had wonderful food and drink. Horseback riding on Rossbeigh beach was an added treat. The location of Glenbeigh was perfect. We spent a day on the Ring of Kerry, one on the Dingle Peninsula, and one driving to Cork and visiting Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone. We were able to catch a train from Killarney to do an overnight and Dublin and finished our vacation with a trip to Cliffs of Moher, sadly, cutting our stay in Castle View short by one night. Using the Shannon Airport was only a 2 1/2 hour drive. Thank you so much....we couldn't have found a better location as our base on our first trip to Ireland. Beyond five stars! Clean, beautiful, well done....I should live so well at home! CHEERS!

Beautiful, family friendly house in a very convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Castle View was everything we had hoped for. Three living areas were perfect for the many families that came to visit during our month long vacation. Eileen had cleaners come weekly which was really great to come home to a clean house and fresh sheets. The linens are excellent, bedrooms were fine, and the house large enough to handle a big group comfortably. We had 2 minor electrical issues which Eileen responded to with superb customer service. The kitchen was well appointed with the exception of dull knives. We took a few to the Centra and they gladly sharpened them for us so problem solved. Would suggest adding an oyster knife and a rubber scraper to the kitchen tools. We love to cook and found the kitchen met our needs.

The view is lovely, so calming to watch the tide go in and out. Rossbeigh beach offers a great 6 km walk to the end and back with a very different feel on windward and leeward sides. The dunes are much bigger than what we have on the southeast coast of the US. Access to the Kerry Way hiking trail is 3 km down the road. I hiked to Windy Gap numerous times just to absorb the gorgeous vistas. The Sunday Market across from the Centra (grocery store Eileen owns in Glenbeigh) is a great place to purchase small gifts, cheeses, breads, knit hats, etc. Glenbeigh Seafood has terrific oysters and mussels and Patricia will show you how they clean shellfish for market if you buy from their facility near the bay.

The house is in a great location for exploring the southwest coast. We all agreed that if you don't want a city experience, Glenbeigh is the perfect spot from which to venture out then totally relax and enjoy Castle View and its surroundings at the end of the day. We especially enjoyed Valentia Island, the Kerry Cliffs, and Dingle. Killarney National Park offers at least 2 days of touring. The Blasket Island Eco tour was exceptional and the drive through Conor Pass was worth the fear factor!

I recommend Castle View without reservation.

Mom's 80th!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have had a more spectacular place for our week and my Mom's 80th birthday. The house, property and all the amenities were immaculate. The 10 adults and 2 children had plenty of space and we were more than comfortable. You will definitely enjoy your time here'

A Majestic Place

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Castle View was exceptional from the castle ruins in the back yard, the horses grazing the pasture, and a house with everything you could ever need! We used this house as a base as we explored The Ring of Kerry, Dingle Pennsula and the uniqueness of Glenbeigh. If you are needing to work while on vacation, the Internet is very slow. I highly recommend Castle View for your stay in Ireland!

Jaw dropping beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

This home had us all so excited when we walked in. Gorgeous, up to date, clean, amenities as advertised, spectacular views of the mountains and ocean, as well as castle ruins. (all of this also right out a Jacuzzi tub window!) Sign on the fence says private property, so you can't explore the castle though. There were horses in that area that easily came up to visit us by the fence. Easily parked 2 vehicles there, could likely fit three. Much appreciated fruits, cookies and pastries for us apon arrival, & those 'Digestives' became our favorite of the whole trip!

Plenty of bathrooms for a large group. The game room was so nice, keeping the kids entertained on their own. Video games, and even the blocks for little ones. I was super impressed with the baby equipment- cribs (not just pack and plays), high chairs, bouncy rocker, and baby gates at top and bottom of stairs. Eileen was always available by phone for any questions we had.

I only have a couple minor suggestions- we found power adaptors on the entry table & also in a different drawer (missed these until the day we left). All in the same area, & possibly with a label on the drawer might help. I did see some pens in the kitchen cupboard, but for those who plan and like to map things out, I found myself looking for highlighters and permanent markers as well. Perhaps even add some scotch tape in the little 'office' cupbard.

It was our mis-sight, in not seeing the sponges/dishrags until the second day, but adding a couple washcloths to the bathrooms would be nice as well.

Clothes seemed a bit wet after the laundry cycle, but an additional super rinse seemed to do the trick.

We drove the ring of Kerry across Valencia Island, down to Skelligs chocolate, continuing to Sneem. From there we took Ballaghbeama Gap back up to Glenbeigh. Beautiful (snowing) and a tad scary all at the same time! Also did Dingle the next day.

Overall, fantastic place to stay. It sure set our expectations high. We only wish our Dublin home would have been as nice, & that we could have finished our trip on the best end- the rural western part of Ireland, and this castle view house.

Castle View House is a Luxury house set in the charming village of Glenbeigh on the Ring of Kerry and offers stunning views of Wynn's Castle and Rossbeigh Beach .The house is privately owned and has been built and finished to the highest of standards. It is within easy walking distance of the village, the shops and all local amenities.. Glenbeigh often referred to as 'The Jewel in the Ring of Kerry'.

It is the ideal holiday location. Whether you are looking for a fun-filled family holiday or a romantic break away. Glenbeigh is situated on the famous Ring of Kerry (N70). It is the ideal base to explore the Kingdom of Kerry close to other coastal towns and villages, being 10min. from Killorglin and Kells, 25min.from Caherciveen and 30min. from Killarney.

Rossbeigh - the scenic beach in Glenbeigh, with 8km of golden sand and paroramic views of the surronding mountains is Kerry's most popular. The west side of Rossbeigh facing the Athlantic ocean is perfect for surfing or windsurfing, whilst the east side is protected somewhat from the Atlantics breezes - great for beach games, canoeing and learning how to windsurf.

Skellig Michael is a large jagged rock, which hoists itself dramatically out of the Atlantic 8 miles off the coast of kerry. There is a flight of steps leading to the remains of the monastic settlement, which occopy a series of terraces, enclosed in drystone walls on a narrow shelf of rock nearly 600 feet above the sea, the enclosure also contains the ruins of St. Michaels church. Beehive Cells also located at Schellig Michael, these corbel-roofed cells are round in the outside and square in the inside. One of the clochans has a cross of white quartz stones built onto the wall above the door.
