|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
This luxurious villa comprises 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 lounge/dining/kitchen areas. The villa is finished to the very highest standards with ivory porcelain floors throughout, Hansgrohe bathroom fittings, leather suites and dining room furniture imported from Marks and Spencer in the UK. The kitchens are fully equipped with granite work surfaces and a there is a separate laundry room. Air conditioning is provided throughout and there is cable TV/internet access on both the first and second floors.
Each of the three floors has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, making Villa Katarina particularly suitable for more than one family or larger groups. Equally, an individual family would find the villa ideally laid out for their needs. All six bedrooms and both living areas have direct access to a balcony or the patio area from where you will experience 180 degree sea views and spectacular sunsets.
Externally, there is a lovely tiled pool, BBQ, table tennis and extremely spacious and comfortable balconies and lower patio area, all with the most spectacular views. The villa is south facing, thereby enjoying all-day sunshine, and with over 200 sq m of patio and balconies. Just below, a five minute walk away, is one of the most beautiful pebble beaches in the area and a choice of excellent restaurants and bars.
We are a British family who fell in love with Dalmatia and built Villa Katarina to the highest standards. The bathroom fittings are Hansgrohe, the leather suites and dining room furniture are made for Marks and Spencer in the UK and were imported to Croatia, the ceramic tiles were imported from Italy.
We spend three or four weeks a year in the Villa and moor our boat at Stanici beach when we are on holiday.
Paula Roberts purchased this villa in 2007
We decided we wanted to buy in Croatia and looked at many properties in Istria and Dubrovnik as well as the Split area. We fell in love with Omis which is outstandingly beautiful but decided to locate ourselves 5 minutes outside the town in the village of Stanici. It has 5 restaurants in walking distance as well as bars - two of which are on the beach.
We love the layout of the Villa over three floors, with views of the sea from every bedroom and living area.
The marble spiral staircase in the tower is spectacular and as you walk down the stairs you get glimpses of the sea from the tower windows.
Absolutely wonderful family holiday. The villa was clean and very well equipped, the pool, fairly small but great fun for all the family (9 of us including granny, two families both with 12 and 16 year olds). Minor problems dealt with promptly by very helpful caretaker. Only slight riders: 1. If you are at all infirm, and wish to walk up to the villa, its pretty steep, and also sizeable number of steps after crossing road to get to the beach and 2. The private road up to the villa, because of its steepness, is a bit hairy on the first pass, absolutely fine thereafter.
That does not at all detract from how lovely this villa is. Six bed/bath, large comfortable rooms, great outside areas with 3 different terraces for our large family to sit out depending on time of day and sun/shade balance!
Finally, the area is spectacular; the villa is in the heart of the village of Stanici, with lovely pebble beach (with a couple of low key beach bars and some watersports, though not at all obtrusive) and excellent value and food at the local restaurants. Two particular must do's are rafting on the river at Omish, stunningly beautiful, go with Pirate Rafting; and Adriatoptours 9-5 boat trip to the island of Brac (office in Stanici), individual for the family, three stops, all stunning and a wonderfully relaxing day. Omish a lovely town, lots more elsewhere! We will be back.
Just wanted to say thank you very much. We had a fantastic holiday. The villa was beautiful. Everyone who stayed thought it was excellent. We had a great time in Stanici, the local people were just so kind. We had some fantastic food in both Sun City and Bar Espanol and the beach bars were well and truly used. The guy that runs Espanol was so kind, we had asked him about whether or not there was somewhere for the kids to go and party and he recommended Deep Night Club in Makarska, so parents went along to investigate and thought it was okay. But he went the extra mile for us and ordered a taxi owned by a friend to collect the kids and bring them home. That was just the kindest thing to do. We had a fantastic day out with Captain Robert that we hired out for the day, and who took us over to Brac and to a couple of beaches but then went the extra mile (yet again) and took us to the village where all the stone is cut and the stone school. He got the kids to jump in the water and drag them along with a rope. They had such good fun and a time which none of them will ever forget.
I am so glad we stayed at your villa and can only highly recommend Villa Katarina and the wonderful village of Stanici.
I am sure that this is not the last time I will be in Croatia. I cant wait to come back.
Villa Katarina was superb. Had an amazing time in Croatia and having a beautiful Villa was the icing on the cake. The Villa has 3 floors and as there were 6 of us we all had our own space if needed. Made friends with the local cat and the neighbours were so nice. Nina was excellent and the villa was wonderfully clean. Would 100% recommend. Paula was so obliging and helpful. Lovely family. Thank you so much.
We can't recommend Croatia and Villa Katarina enough. The country is spectacular and Villa Katarina is ideally placed to make the most of it - we visited the island of Brac, Markarska and Trogir all of which were wonderful. The villa is truly luxurious, has six large bedrooms with beautiful en-suites and each bedroom has a balcony and sea view.
The villa was spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard. Nina who met us was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been more helpful.
A wonderful holiday!
We went as a family group and everyone loved this villa.
Modern, spacious, stunning views. Small but great pool.
Everywhere extremely clean.
Hand over last,Nina, informative and English speaking.
There are half built villas surrounding Katarina, but no building work was evident whilst we were there for two weeks. Extremely quiet and peaceful.
A steep climb down to the nearest pebble beach which was clean with gorgeous turquoise sea. Beach restaurant was good to visit to watch the sunset.
Two of our group went canyoning from Omis and had a challenging but wonderful day out. Several went white water rafting along the Certina river which was a great place to appreciate the awesome scenery.
We hired a water taxi from Omis for the day and went to Brac island, stopping en route for deep sea swimming, visited a sandy beach and had lunch in an award winning town- all in all a great day out.
Omis was buzzy and very busy! Loads of places to eat, drink and people watch.
Split was soo busy, all car parks full, but slightly off the Harbour front plenty of roads where parking is permitted. Old town well worth a visit.
On check-out day we went to Trogia near to Split airport which is a fabulous island and a convenient place to spend several hours before our flight home.
All in all we would absolutely recommend a stay in Villa Katarina.
As an aside, we were all impressed with the cleanliness of all toilet facilities, including the public ones in every town- the rest of Europe could learn a lot from their upkeep.
I just wanted to thank the owners for sharing their beautiful home Villa Katarina.
The villa had everything you needed to completely relax and switch off, but if you are someone who still needs to stay in contact with the outside world it provided all modern facilities. We chose the music channels!
Located in a beautiful area with stunning sea views where we sat at night and had dinner on one of the three balconies to watch the exquisite sun set behind the mountains.
Villa Katarina was a spacious, clean, luxurious home that had plenty of social areas as well as being big enough to get some down time if you wanted to. Just a stone throw away from the beach if you wanted a change of scenery.
The owners are extremely forthcoming with local information and very accommodating providing you with all the information you need. It was helpful hiring cars (there is plenty of private parking) for local supermarket shops and also going out for the day.
The area has plenty of activities and we went white water rafting for the day. This was one activity among others in the area that you can choose from, if you can pull yourself away from villa.
Nina who met us with the keys was genuinely lovely and this was a reflection of the owners. The neighbours were friendly and chatty.
I would thoroughly recommend Villa Katarina for your annual holiday, if not for the beautiful relaxing area, then just because the owners made it a very stress-free holiday to organise for six couples.
Thanks for a great holiday.
Villa Katarina is just a five minute walk from one of the most beautiful pebble beaches in this area.
Stanici is a 5 minute drive from the historic medieval town of Omis with all modern amenities, including a sandy beach, and is where the River Cetina enters the sea. The river and the canyon behind the town not only provide the most wonderful scenery, but also affords a myriad of outdoor activities including canoeing, white water rafting, climbing, mountain biking etc. The hiking is particularly outstanding along paths through the wooded slopes to the mountain ridges.
Split is 30 km away and is the second largest city in Croatia and ferries leave regularly to many of the surrounding islands - Brac and Hvar are well worth a visit. The city is over 1700 years old and at its heart is the wonderful Diocletian Palace dating to AD 305.
Makarska is 27 km from Stanici. It is an old town, with a horseshoe shaped bay and palm fringed promenades full of fashionable cafe bars and boutiques
Villa Katarina is perfectly positioned to provide for both a peaceful break in a beautiful setting, and a base from where to pursue numerous activities.
