My husband and I are retired now. We live in the Lake George, New York area in the summer and in the winter we stay at our condo in Englewood, Florida and travel to Vermont to spend Christmas with the family. Our son was born in 1978 and daughter in 1981. They both live in the Boston area, but have many fond memories of our family weekends and vacations at our Vermont house, which we designed and built.
Frank & Marilyn Stevens purchased this chalet in 1980
We chose this location (1/2 mile to Mt. Snow) because we could get to the ski area we liked so much quickly and we can connect to the VAST snowmobile trails.
In the summer we can kayak, swim, hike and picnic in the surrounding lakes.
Vermont fresh air, outdoor fireplace, great walks right from the house. A deck to sit and enjoy nature. Calming and rejuvenating to spend time at the chalet. A step back in time with the décor. However a fun, friendly, family (and romantic) house.
My daughter says, "Oh mom, you cannot sell the Vermont house."
We stayed in the house for a ski weekend with 2 other couples. It was a perfect ski chalet. Close to the mountain, plenty to do, warm and cozy.
There were some minor hiccups at arrival, however hosts were quick to respond and send help. The house is very spacious and great for groups and families. The open foyer layout opens up the space. Stove was a little confusing to use at first simply because it was outdated. I really liked the patio and deck, wished there were chairs to watch the stars at night.
We spent the weekend up there with a few other couples and we all loved our time at the house. Its very close to the Mount Snow, but you feel like no one is around you for miles. Its clean, very open, and theres plenty of room.
I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. In fact, I plan on it.
Skiing, snowmobiling, shopping, dining out, hiking, boating, swimming, mountain biking
