Bedrooms 1, Bathrooms 1, Sleeps 4

"Mio Giardino Romano", the apartment of a Roman photographer, will delight you with its blend of modern art and historic detail, like its original tiled floors, and lovely antique pieces of furniture. Its three rooms, living room, bedroom, and large, eat-in, kitchen are all spacious and light-filled. It's special treat is the private garden, where you can enjoy meals outdoors through many months of Rome's beautiful weather. The apartment is perfect for a couple or for a family, as the living room has two sofa beds, suitable for two children.

You can stroll narrow, cobbled streets lined by medieval houses, bars and restaurants. It's neighborhood is both quiet and and active with some of Rome's best neighborhood restaurants offering excellent value, and either traditional or creative cuisine. We will be pleased to furnish you with a list. Outdoor markets and both charming and funky shops line the streets, too. At night both Romans and foreigners flock here. A visit to the historic fifth century Church of Santa Cecilia is a must. The church of Santa Maria in Cappella can be seen from your window. Take a short walk across the Ponte Garibaldi and you are in Rome's Historic Center, and the Piazza Farnese, the Campo di Fiori. You are also a adjacent to the Isola di Tiberina (Tiber Island), historic and charming. Mio Giardino Romano will make you want to stay in Rome forever.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Cristina and Pasquale were most hospitable and willing to please - even provided new toaster and electric jug with no fuss. Apartment spacious and comfortable and everything worked (a rarity in the old part of Rome) and it was bliss to soak in the bathtub after a day out and about in Rome. The garden was an added bonus for breakfast and pre dinner appertivi. The location is away from the main tourist area of Trastevere and restaurants recommended by the owners were first rate - especially pasta in mani (not just good - brilliant).

Second visit to our home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time staying in this apartment with my husband. We came for our honeymoon for two weeks in April 2014 and missed it so much we came back for a week this past February. We felt like we'd never left. We went back to our favorite restaurants (which are all right next to the apartment) and saw the waiters, dogs, and neighbors we remembered from two years ago. Our first trip to Rome was all about seeing the sites. This trip was about strolling down our favorite streets, eating great food and taking in the magic of Rome. Returning to this apartment felt like returning home. It is in the best corner of the best neighborhood in the best city! When we reached out to Cristina about returning she said this would be a "soul trip" and she was so right.

Owner's Response: Dear Liana, We are always delighted to welcome back past guests; but as much as that we are thrilled to read how you have appreciated Rome this time, not just as a tourist, but as a Roman. Roma has a way of getting under the skin, and as Cristina said, "into the soul". And you are rignt! The neighborhood of Il Mio Giardino Romana can't be beat! We hope to see you next year! All the best, Susan and the Commendable Rentals Team

C'était parfait

  • 5 of 5

Bellissima!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our apartment! Great location in historic Trastevere, which feels quieter and more off the beaten path, but still within walking distance of everything that Rome has to offer. Garden was a wonderful, peaceful place to start and finish the day! Bliss. Owners are lovely, and gave us a complete tour of everything before leaving us on our own. Will definitely return.....

AMAZING

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is just across the river in Trastevere but you feel like you have escaped to the country side. The garden in the back is fantastic. We even got to enjoy fresh lemons off the tree. Cristina greeted us when we arrived and took the time to show us not only around the apartment but around the neighborhood. She showed us where to eat dinner and where to get the best bread and cappuccino (and it was the best cappuccino we had the entire time we were in Rome!) Would highly recommend this apartment.

Owner's Response: We love to hear reports like this. Thank you for taking the time to write. Trastevere certainly has a special charm steeped as it is, in Medieval history, contrasted with current trendiness, as well as being a stroll to some of the most famous monuments, as you say, just across a beautiful bridge. Do come back soon.
