We had the pleasure of staying at La Rebourgere for my birthday party in feburary 2011 , it was a fantastic place for a holiday , the two open fire places together with decor and furnishings were superb ,everbody loved the indoor swimming pool complex , the pool was very clean and warm , the jacuzzi was also really good with its underwater lights , i am not really a fisherman but caught lots of fish with sweetcorn and the rods were suppilied by the resort , also the lake was breathtaking and the wild life and birds were amazing, we would definatley recomend to anybody , the place is well run with helpfull staff and the whole place is a memroable experience , we will be sure to go again. Thank you La Rebourgere!

Magnificent rural French property with all mod-cons

  • 5 of 5

A truly beautiful rustic and rural french farmhouse and cottage with modern conveniences including well maintained swimming pool and jacuzzi complex which was heavily used during our stay. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch after a long day travelling and eased our extended family into a relaxing two week break. Our stay was to celebrate a number of milestone occasions in the family including my Daughter's 21st birthday and the property and facilities were ideal. The pictures of the property probably don't do it justice and the amount of land available was just incredible with plenty to do during inclement weather, which happened in week 1 for us. As usual in old properties things do go awry, blown light bulbs, kettles etc but the attentiveness of Robin and his team was second to none and, whilst none of the issues were troublesome to us, they were resolved on the day or next day, so a special thanks to them and for the gift for my daughters birthday. In summary a great place to stay, well worth a visit, we will be back!

lovely accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in this beautiful house, surrounded by stunning french countryside, we chose the hottest week of the summer, so the swimming pool was a welcome bonus. The house was clean and well -maintained, the welcome hamper was very useful with practical as well as luxury foods.

Plenty to do on site, fishing in the lake, badmington/table tennis...too hot for bike riding but bikes were available .

A car would be needed .... we went on many day trips to Maynee and omaha beach and surrounding areas.

I would definately recommend La Rebourgere for a family or group holiday and would like to return in the near future!

Fantastic! Perfect for Family Holidays

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here last summer and had one of our best holidays ever. We were a group of 3 families with 9 children. We only went out once! The weather was fab so we spent all day around the pool and fishing. Robin the manager was great and only a phone call away if we needed him. Everything was clean and extremely well maintained.

We all plan to return.

Totally perfect for families!

  • 5 of 5

This total gem was absolutely perfect for our visit. The property could not have been better designed for our two families (with 7 children between us). The welcome pack was outstanding and really helped us feel welcome and settle in. The lake and swimming pool meant that staying on site was a genuine option and we were able to occupy the kids with high quality activities without travelling. Having Sky sports was very helpful for both cricket and rugby fans (with the World Cup warm ups)! The property is certainly designed to facilitate banqueting together. Despite the size of our group, we were able to eat all our meals round a huge table inside. The swimming pool and hot tub meant the adults and children were able to relax in the same space together - and that's no mean feat! From this location there were a number of excellent locations for days out, which suited us all. We would recommend this place to anyone - the one down side was that we only booked it for a week. Next time we'll definitely be looking to go for two!

A wonderful family holiday

  • 2 of 5

I looked for a property that would suit a family of 10 ranging from a 2year old to a 66year old and could not have found anything better. It was perfect in every way and the swimming pool was the best ever. Unfortunately we had quite a lot of rain but it did not spoil anything. There is so much space with both houses that there was space for everyone. Our welcome hamper was amazing and very much appreciate . Had the weather been better the outside space would have been fantastic. We would certainly recommend your house. Thank you very much.

Visitors have a choice between seaside and countryside. The stunning beauty of the region's interior, with its thatched cottages, traditional farming and ever-changing landscapes, is matched by a long coastline which stretches from the romantic cliffs and sandy beaches of Seine Maritime in the East, to the wild Cotentin seaboard and the World Heritage Site of Mont Saint Michel and its bay, with its huge tidal range and strong currents. La Rebourgere is ideal for families who enjoy both a relaxing and a more active holiday. Close by you will find riding, golf, swimming, walking - countryside and forest, cycling, canoeing, there is also a nearby riverside picnic and kayak area . For those who would like a day's shopping or sight-seeing, Paris is just over a two hour train journey away.

Local attactions include the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne with it's beautiful floral displays, the lake (with pedaloes in the summer season), outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, casino, street cafes and some fabulous restaurants. The medieval town of Domfront also has lots to offer, narrow cobbled streets, tiny shops, the ruins of the chateau, the church of Notre Dame sur l'eau, where, it is said, Thomas a Beckett said mass in 1166.
