My response time: I always respond promptly to any inquiry by phone or e-mail. My spam catcher occasionally stops these e-mails from getting to me, so if you don't hear back quickly, please try calling.

The area: Cavendish is a quiet town, located 7 miles from Ludlow and the Okemo Ski Resort. The Cottage at Stone Walls is situated on 11+ acres outside of the village. There are many historic, tourist, and outdoor attractions in the area, but if you want peace and quiet, you have only to stay around the property and you will not be disturbed. Writing tables in every room, beautiful sunny views to inspire you. Plenty of room for your children to play and run around outside, tire swings, hammocks, etc.

References: I would be happy to put you in contact with previous guests of the Cottage, many of whom return year after year. Better yet, you can read the reviews many happy visitors have written.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed at the Cottage at Stone Walls and I have to say that the place was awesome!! We really enjoyed ourselves. The place is very spacious and for just the 2 of us, felt like a palace!! Definitely some place that we could bring the family and have a nice, quiet and relaxing abode to come home to after doing anything out and about. This definitely makes the shortlist of places to return to, with or without the family! The owner was very good about answer questions and made our stay that much more enjoyable! Thanks again!

I will welcome you and your family anytime the Cottage is available in the future. I also have another home on the 11-acre property, and you are welcome to stay there as well. Thank you for the review and for your business! Joannah Merriman

Great location

  • 4 of 5

House was clean and well maintained, location was great. We found there was almost no toilet paper, there was no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the bathrooms. I did find a bag of these things in the downstairs bathroom, but it appeared they were from hotel stays in various places. We didn't find this until we had all tried to shower.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Kathie. I've spoken with my regular cleaning person, though she wasn't the one to prepare the Cottage for you. She said she always puts at least two extra rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom vanity drawer, as well as a 4-pack of TP in the upstairs hall linen closet. Yes, the shampoo, condtioner, body wash, body lotion, and small bars of soap are in the main floor bathroom closet for anyone to use. They often are unused small containers from hotels and resorts, so new guests don't have to use opened bars of soap or bottles of shampoo and other toiletries. I'm sorry you didn't find these things in a timely manner. I'll see what I can do to make our supplies more obvious to our guests.

A Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was a wonderful place to stay for my family of 5 with 3 young kids and my two in-laws. It was just the right size for 7 of us. The games in the game shelves were awesome, the woods were amazing to explore. the pond was beautiful in the early morning. There was everything we could need in the house and it was a great launching point for fin at Okemo, Buttermilk Falls, and climbing Mt Ascutney. Overall a great place to stay at a great price with just what we needed.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family really enjoyed our time at the cottage during the summer of 2017. It had everything we needed, including plenty of puzzles and games for the kids and a coffee grinder for me. Joannah was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.

We ran back and forth between Ascutney and Okemo for mountain biking, hiking, swimming, eating and goofing around. The pond across the dirt road was a great place for evening tag and letting the dogs take a dip.

My kids are already asking if we can go back.
