We had an fantastic time in this lovely home over MLK weekend and a few additional days tacked on. The home was perfect for our extended family. Grandkids loved the bunk room and everyone else enjoyed having their own baths and plenty of space to relax. The house is well cared for with lots of linens, dishes, glasses, etc. Clearly the owners care about this property and it shows. We would recommend it to anyone interested in a get away. It did not feel like a rental property in anyway and the owner was delightful.
Definitely deserves 5 stars.
The most convenient stay in a rental home I've ever experienced. Michael was helpful and communicative from Day One. The home is in a small town near the border to NH and has a few small shops nearby if you need anything convenient, but a short drive away across the border is probably your best bet for better supermarkets and restaurants. Stayed for a ski vacation and drove to Killington Ski Resort which was a quick 40 minute drive along the main highway (Route 4). The property was pristine when we showed up, and has more than enough amenities, supplies, and accommodations to fit the need for any type of group. It's in a quiet, secluded neighborhood with beautiful surroundings. The owner is extremely accommodating and polite, and truly cares about your stay in his home. Would recommend to any large group of people, no doubt.
I've rented this home twice in the past several months, and it is a great spot for a large group (the first time there were 4 couples, the second time it was an extended family). One of the best things about this property is the number of bathrooms - something often not found in rentals and which allows everyone to really settle in and feel at home! Both the homeowner and property manager are extremely responsive to any questions. We used the WIFI, had nice dinners around the large dining table, and found plenty of fresh linens and firewood for those cold VT nights. We will for sure rent here again!
We just returned from our second stay at this house, and our time there was just as enjoyable as the first time in winter 2011. This house is clean, well-maintained, and spacious. The owner was available and responsive to any questions that I had, and gave good suggestions for things to do in the area. Quechee is a charming town, as is nearby Woodstock. Being from the Boston area, it is refreshing for us to spend time in beautiful Vermont with its slower pace of life, and this house was a great home-base for exploratory trips around the area. My elderly parents and I just enjoyed driving along the back roads past some beautiful farms. I recommend this house, and I'm already looking forward to coming back again.
This is my fourth stay at this lovely rental home in Quechee. We love it because it is less than and hour ride to Okemo and Killington and Quechee also has it's own ski area. I now realize it is more than a great ski house. It is also a great place for a fall getaway. The description was accurate, the property clean and well maintained and the owner sent us great directions, clear instuctions on how to be comfortable in the house, places to go, list of activities, retaurants, both casual and formal, etc. Woodstock is a short ride awayand a great place to browse, eat and visit with friends. Woodstock is also the home of the Marsh Billings Rockefellar National Park. This includes a beautiful farm to visit and multiple trails, of various lengths, depending on personal preference. I would highly recommend it as a great destination for both family and friends.
Our group was so thrilled to have so much space to spread out and also be together! We were never on top of each other, never had to wait for a bathroom and the "early risers" didn't disturb anyone. The location is also prime, with proximity to hiking, shopping and restaurants. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Access passes available to Quechee Club for on premises golf (2 championship courses), skiing, lake, tennis, trails, dining and more. Close to great fishing and hunting. Thirty minutes to Killington, forty to Okemo. Just 5 miles to Suicide Six and Woodstock, ten miles to Dartmouth/ Hanover. Four miles off Exit 1 on Route 89, just over 2 hours from Boston.
