Chalet Alpage occupies the top 2 floors of part of the Piste Rouge Residence, a newly built duplex apartment with fantastic views up and down the valley (the Val d’Annivers) and just a very short distance to the main Bendolla cable car station.

The duplex consists of approximately 118 square metres of living space plus a large south facing balcony. This is the largest duplex size in the building. It is also one of the most convenient resort locations for skiers and snowboarders because it is so close to the main cable car station and piste. It is only 100m from the piste and lift station. Many properties with a similar number of bedrooms are located a drive or bus ride away from the lift.

Notwithstanding its ideal positioning for skiing, the duplex is also just five minutes walk or less from the heart of the village and its bars and restaurants. Chez Florioz, the most popular apres ski bar, is on the way back home after a day’s skiing in Grimentz.

This high specification apartment has 4 bedrooms, (2 on each floor), which can be configured as doubles or twins. The kitchen is well equipped with granite worksurfaces, a full size fridge freezer, induction hob, nespresso machine, dishwasher and microwave.

There is a stunning double height living and dining space, opening out on to a large balcony with far reaching views.

The dining table comfortably seats 8, and is overlooked by a mezzanine which has additional seating, a table football table, tv, play station and plenty of books and games.

There is a further tv in the living room, wifi throughout, an iPod docking station and a Stuv wood burning fire.

                                                              The apartment is nice, comfortable, very well equipped for people who love cooking like us and very close to the slopes. The only thing we regretted is that there are no washing machine available in the appartement which is a not fully convenient for a week stay with kids.

                                                              Grimentz, Switzerland

                                                              Grimentz is one of 5 small resorts in the Val d'Anniviers ski area, forming part of the Valais region of Switzerland which includes resorts such as Verbier and Crans Montana. The village dates from the 15th century with picturesque narrow cobbled streets and old wooden barns and houses. In the summer the village is famous locally for houses adorned with geranium filled window boxes. In the winter locals and visitors stroll down the narrow streets (many of which are pedestrianised) collecting items for dinner from the baker or butcher or simply window shopping. Grimentz and Zinal are in the last French speaking valley heading East from Sion and French is generally the language you will hear on the slopes or lifts or in the village shops and restaurants. A small alpine village, it punches above its weight when it comes to skiing, particularly when Zinal (the neighbouring resort) is taken into account. The famous Chamois itinerary route which takes you from Zinal to Grimentz, often in deep powder, is one of the region's most famous routes and a must-do in winter for stronger skiers. The local planning authority has rightly preserved the old village, only allowing new developments close to the Bendolla lift which has meant that a ski in/ski out experience is available for those who buy or rent in the right developments. By contrast, most chalets are located too far from the lifts to walk or ski back to base.
