Three bedroom, two bathroom year-round waterfront home in Port Clyde. French doors open from second floor living room onto spacious deck that has outside stairs leading to private dock, float & mooring.
We've stayed at this cottage several times both in summer and fall--it is everything the owners say it is and more, attractively furnished, comfortable beds and bedding, very clean, and views that will distract you from doing anything else but sitting on the deck and watching the lobster boats work their traps while the pleasure boaters cruise by. Port Clyde is a popular destination for cruising boats and you can see them all from the cottage. If you can tear yourself away, it's a short trip to the general store, restaurant, ice cream shop, ferries, etc. Whether you want to cook in or eat out, everything is right here. The owner is friendly and provides you with local information. We love it.
My friends and I spent a wonderfull Martin Luther King holiday here. We were especially fortunate to enjoy a 10" snow storm, giving us a bonus extra day at the water's edge. The boathouse accomodates a small group and met all our needs. We savored looking out at the beautiful scene while enjoying Maine specialtys, from the blueberry pancakes to the steamed lobsters.
This place is gorgeous. It's situated on an idyllic lot right on the bay. We had a girls weekend (including my friends dog Dora) and it was completely relaxing. I came from south of Boston, and the drive was very easy. The house is clean and bright and comfortably furnished. The view from the upstairs and the downstairs was beautiful, and the downstairs king bed was absolute heaven. We spend our time enjoying the view from the deck, listening to the great Bose sound system, and enjoying a few cocktails. I would definitely recommend the Boathouse to anyone looking to get away and relax.
Enjoy sunset views from the deck, take day trips to Monhegan Island, the Camden / Rockland areas, or kayak from our beach or float to nearby islands and the Saint George River. Museums, swimming, hiking, shopping and much more in nearby area.
