It 'a special place for a relaxing holiday, away from the noise of the city and very close to the historical center (5 minutes by bus n. 11, 36, 37 and even walk). It allows our guests to Florence staying in tranquility in the green hills.
The apartment is also a strategic base for short excursions to the most picturesque places of Chianti and Tuscany. A short drive away, in fact, you can discover the typical Tuscan landscapes: the hills surrounding Florence, full of vineyards and picturesque towns such as Greve in Chianti, Panzano, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Badia a Passignano; or the beautiful Siena and its famous and fascinating territory, rich in harmony landscapes and medieval villages; or Monteriggioni and San Gimignano with its extraordinary towers that delineate the unmistakable profile.

If you want to stay right in the middle of Florence and don't mind the noise , the traffic and the lack of outdoor space, then this apartment is not for you. But if you want tranquillity and a fantastic view overlooking the Duomo and the rooftops of Florence, look no further. We spent a week in this apartment in August and would have loved to have stayed longer. The view sitting right outside the apartment is mesmerising especially at night . We were welcomed by owner Lucia, as if we were family. She even came to find us at the local supermarket to show us the easiest way to the apartment. She had provided a marvellous welcome basket with wine, fruit juice, water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, honey, jam, eggs, pasta, biscuits and fruit. The apartment was spotlessly clean , the kitchen well-equipped and the large bed comfortable.
Lucia was away during most of our stay, but she made sure we could always contact her. Her parents live above the apartment (with their own separate entrance ) and were there had we needed anything. Although they don't speak English , we were able to converse a little in French luckily. On our last evening, they came by with a bottle of wine and some homemade nibbles to say goodbye. The family were all so friendly without being intrusive in any way.
Anyone of average fitness could walk into the centre of Florence in half an hour or to the beautiful Boboli Gardens in 15 minutes. However, it is quite steep so you might want to take the bus. I use a wheelchair, so these options were not suitable for us unfortunately. The easy route we found was to drive to a supermarket in Scandicci, where we could park for free, and get the tram right to the town centre. This was great, but the pavements throughout Italy leave a lot to be desired!
The apartment is very convenient for the motorways. We visited Pisa (ok), Sienna and Lucca (both wonderful). A short drive across Florence takes you to the beautiful amphitheatre and museum at Fiesole. It is a very easy visit if you have walking difficulties, as they have provided lifts to take you to everything. There is so much to see in Florence, but we particularly enjoyed the Galileo museum right next to the Uffizi gallery.
So all in all Florence is a wonderful place to visit and there is no better place to stay.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our 10 day stay at this apartment. It was the perfect place to relax after a week of sightseeing in Rome.
On arrival, we were greeted by Lucia whose English was great. Lucia was really friendly and forthcoming with information we needed about the apartment and surrounding area, and had put together a folder full of maps and information for easy reference throughout our stay. We were also greeted with a hamper full of food and wine and the fridge and cupboards were stocked with essentials such as milk, oil and butter etc. This was a lovely touch and we felt settled straight away.
The studio apartment was was immaculate and very comfortable and cosy. Don't be put off by the fact it's a studio, it's very spacious. The terrace and garden area was lovely with amazing views of Florence. We spent a lot of time relaxing and eating outside. We had some issues with mosquitoes but this was just down to the time of year and nothing to do with the apartment. Lucia had also left mosquito repellent and other supplies in the apartment to make this less of an issue for us.
Lucia's parents live in the same building and were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Unlike Lucia they do not speak English but we nevertheless really warmed to them. They brought us a bottle of wine in the middle of our stay, and gave us lifts to the station etc to save us carrying our luggage! They were very kind and hospitable.
It is very easy to get to the city from the apartment, you can walk which takes about 30 minutes or get a bus which takes about 10-15 minutes. There are also some great restaurants nearby (although we cooked in the kitchen most of the time), and supermarkets.
We cannot recommend this apartment enough - we are very glad we chose it over a hotel, especially as it is very reasonable in terms of price! We will definitely be going back in the future.
