Overview

Trinidad & Tobago Villa Rental Photos and Description

- 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 4, 1 cot, fold down beds on request

Like the rain forest ridge that Parrot Estate has occupied since 1990, the house continues to evolve. Traditionally Caribbean inspired, the aim is to provide harmony between the accommodation and the surrounding landscape.

Contemporary facilities do not detract from a close and involving dialog with the living forest and the captivating Caribbean sea.

Two double bedrooms and two shower rooms allow comfortable living for four whilst the open plan living area and surrounding covered terrace invite a communion with jungle around you.

From sunrise to sunset this is a place where the holistic benefits of the environment never fail to nourish.

This is a place to feel alive.

Relaxing, rustic...rejuvenating

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful getaway after a fairly stressful start to the year, and this was absolutely perfect.

We were met by Jason at the airport, he couldn't have been more charming or helpful and upon arrival he showed round the beautiful villa and grounds.

It was an absolutely divine location, we were even lucky enough to see some agoutis during the week (which are a bit like large guinea pigs).

The indoor and outdoor living space worked really well for us, we will definitely be returning to this idyllic spot.

A Gem That Could Use Some "TLC"

  • 3 of 5

My wife and I have just completed stays at four Tobago vacation rentals over a 5-week period. Parrot Estate Villa (PEV) was one of them (1 week) and we had expected it to be the highlight of our vacation. In some respects, it was, but some aspects of it were the lowest-rated of our four rentals.

The things we liked: well-organised property owner with very helpful vacation planning information; friendly and engaging property manager (Jason); privacy on the 1-acre site; tranquil views; steady hilltop breezes; relaxing in the gazebo; eating meals on the verandah; cooling in the pool; watching the birds and wildlife (agoutis).

Our disappointment was the condition of the property, which was evident on arrival. We started to draft this review with a list of things in need of “TLC” (the phrase used by the last two writers in the guest book). However, it is easier to say that nearly everything we used or looked at would have benefited from some attention. Each item on its own could be readily overlooked, but the totality of it was disappointing … and we almost injured ourselves the first time we tried to sit on the living room couch. Also making a poor first impression was the bathroom sinks, microwave and stove had not been cleaned after the last guests.

We believe the rental rate was fairly set compared to the other three properties at which we stayed, so PEV’s rate does include a modest discount for the condition of the property. And out of curiosity while staying at PEV, we visited the other nearby rental properties that we had originally considered before choosing PEV. In hindsight we concluded that PEV was still the optimal choice for us in this area.

So in summary, we cautiously recommend this property for a relaxing, private, quiet stay amid beautiful scenery and close to our favourite Tobago beach, Englishman’s Bay. Just be aware of the property’s condition.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your helpful comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed the aspects of Parrot Estate Villa that we feel are of primary importance. You will be pleased to know that a schedule of renovations and renewals is already underway and, indeed, once Jason was made aware of the sofa, the webbing was reinforced immediately. The issue with cleanliness is not one we have experienced before and can only apologise on behalf of our ladies who are normally extremely thorough. Kind regards Kate

Superb accommodation set in the idyllic rainforest

  • 5 of 5

This was a quiet and relaxing holiday with only the sound of the local wildlife. Eating breakfast every morning surrounded by parrots and hummingbirds was magical. We ate out most evenings, Margarite's in Castara was a regular for us as the food was beautiful and fresh.especially the fish. The beaches are beautiful and our son enjoyed snorkelling. Kate was a pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this villa and would have no hesitation in going back. Mark and Amanda Kent UK

Heaven

  • 5 of 5

If your idea of paradise is breakfasting to parrots and humming birds, surrounded by rainforest, with the caribbean shimmering in the distance, and no-one within sight or sound of you, look no further. when sitting on the stunning beach at englishman's bay is too much for you, or you've had enough of beautiful drives or line fishing for black fin tuna with local fishermen, the pool at the house is blissful. Local cuisine is brilliantly tasty, but a cold Carib and a bbq back at the house while the sun's going down is a heavenly alternative. Need i go on?

The owners are lovely, responsive and helpful, and the local husband/wife team who look after things (including the wonderful garden, with bananas, avocados, grapefruit..) are kind and available.

The most worthwhile 8.5 hours i have ever spent on a plane.

And we're booked to go back next year: the 7 & 9 year olds can't wait!

Parrot Estate 2011

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Parrot Estate and we could not have been happier. The setting is so very idyllic....in the middle of the rain forest yet so close to the best beach on the island. We chanced the weather in August and were pleasantly surprised...although it was humid we had the lovely pool and the sea so close by to cool off. We spent most evenings having barbeques with beautiful fresh fish bought from the local market and then lying out on the veranda watching the stars with kids ! The gardens are beautiful full of avocados, grapefruits, mango's and passion fruits ....what more could you want... Heaven on Earth. Kate was wonderful to deal with and so were the lovely couple who look after the property for her....Thank you! ... We look forward to going back for our third visit!

Fantastic Caribbean experience

  • 5 of 5

This is definitely one of the best spots to be staying in during a visit to Tobago. Surrounded by lush rainforest with all sorts of wildlife to see, a pool to swim in if you want to cool off, and this villa is close by to the local town to pick up fresh food, and on the other side the beautiful beach of Englishman's Bay which is a fantastic site for snorkelling, or just lying back on the sand. I would recommend this villa to both families and couples.
