little house on the beachy!

  • 5 of 5

We drove down a windy, road and suddenly we were there! We were in the house nearest the ocean! This was so exciting and we could not wait to skip out of the car to see the view. And what a view!!! Totally complemented by the "wall of glass" which afforded the best view of the beach and sea ever.

We had a lovely cosy, comfortable few days, sleeping in the biggest bed I've ever seen. Whinslack certainly has the wow factor, and Filey was cute and quaint with some fab places to eat and great charity shops!! Was sorry to leave and Come back to Stockport. Miss the sea, view, walks on the beach and sound of the waves. Goodbye lovely Yorkshire, we miss you, love ed and Fiona xxx

A room with a view

  • 5 of 5

The most magnificent view. Comfy sofas, huge bath, real fire, logs and coal supplied, efficient heating system, secure garden for dogs, resident rabbits for dogs to watch through the window. Wonderfully relaxing place to stay.

A Hidden Gem

  • 4 of 5

We had 2 weeks stay at this lovely 3 bedroomed property. It offers panoramic views of Filey Bay and is right on the beach. It is ideally situated for exploring the local area with Filey, Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington all within easy reach. The accommodation is very clean and has everything to make the stay comfortable. The vase of flowers which greeted us on arrival added a special touch. It ticked all the boxes for us and I would recommend this property to friends and relatives. There are a number of restaurants close by. A car is essential. We will certainly book again.

Honeymoon heaven

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week in this beautiful place. The location is just paradise and the bungalow has the most amazing views.

We had fantastic weather and took great advantage of the balcony leading from the master bedroom.

When we arrived at the bungalow it was very clean and tidy with all essentials for a warm welcome. (milk, butter, water, tea, coffee, sugar etc.) The bathroom had all amenities, our only wish would have been a more powerful shower!

We enjoyed some lovely walks along the beach to Filey and had some brilliant breakfasts and snacks in the little cafe just up the road to the bungalow.

We would recommend this holiday bungalow to anyone and would love to view again.

Thank you for such a special experience we have some wonderful memories!

Location Location Location

  • 5 of 5

This property most certainly matches up to its description. The location is stunning. Very close to the beach with only 2 other properties in the vicinity. Only walkers and surfers passing by as no cars allowed on the beach path other than to access the property. A minor comment regarding the facilities in the property description is that there is only a fridge in the kitchen not a fridge/freezer. There is however a small freezer in the garage. The property was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Excellent customer service from Great Apartments. Would definitely recommend this property and in fact this was our third stay.

It’s a breathtaking walk to Filey and back along the beach when the tide is out, then back home to a roaring fire (we visited at Christmas) (fuel provided) to admire the sea views and listen to the waves breaking on the beach below the cottage. Bungalow very cosy, all rooms centrally heated.

Scarborough and Bridlington are both a short drive away and Whitby just a bit further up. Visit Skirlington car boot and market (every Sunday) then carry on to Hornsea to the Freeport shopping outlet followed by fish & chips (from Whiteheads) eaten in the car overlooking the beach. Also park up in Scarborough or Bridlington and get bus or train to Beverley, Hull, York or Newcastle. Good fishing off Bridlington Harbour.

Fantastic location right next to beach and sea. Great facilities with a superb living room and master bedroom that looks out across the bay.

This is our second time at the property and we will definitely be returning next year.

The Yorkshire coastline encompasses some of the UK’s most rugged and charming countryside, from tiny fishing villages clinging to rocky cliffs to glorious stretches of white sand and family-friendly seaside resorts, with everything from windswept abbeys to the county’s best fish and chips. Nothing if not diverse, expect Blue Flag beaches, chilly feet if you brave the sea and a chance to lose yourself in this naturally beautiful destination.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering restful 'get away from it all' holidays. A fishing town on the North East coast of England, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a seaside resort since Victorian days. If you want an active holiday, take the beautiful views of Filey Bay with Filey Brigg to the north and Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head further down the coast or just to quietly relax in peaceful the surroundings. Within a short distance are Scarborough and Whitby to the north and Bridlington to the south.
