4 bedroom apartment with en suite bathrooms. Sleeps up to 10 people.

Apartment Rufus is a large chalet-style apartment ideally situated a minutes walk from the telecabine and ski school at la Grande Terche.

The apartment is very light and spacious and has been finished to a high standard. It is an ideal property for families searching for a winter or summer holiday, both due to its location and facilities. It can accommodate 2 families very comfortably.

The entrance way leads into the large lounge with French windows overlooking the garden at the front of the property. There are sofas arranged around the log burner, ideal for relaxing in after a hard days skiing. The dining table can seat up to 10 people. The large kitchen is located down the hallway from the dining area and is fully equipped with all modern appliances including fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob & Nespresso coffee machine.

There are 4 bedrooms, all of which have ensuite bathrooms. Two of of the bathrooms are fitted with baths & showers and the other 2 shower cubicles. The master bedroom is off the lounge and has a private balcony. The second bedroom can be made up as either a double or a twin bedded room, the third bedroom has 2 sets of bunkbeds and the fourth bedroom has 2 single beds.

There is also a laundry room, which is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside there is a large terrace and garden ideal for making snowmen or BBQ's in the summer months. There is also a car parking space for one car by the garden and further spaces across the road in the public car park.

Nous avons énormément apprécié ce chalet pour des vacances entre amis dans une station de ski chaleureuse et agréable.

Confortable et à la décoration soignée nous avons adoré le poêle et le bois à disposition pour une ambiance montagne en toute modernité. Il ne manque rien dans ce chalet (sauf peut être une rallonge électrique pour la raclette !) pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis à moins d'une minute des remontées mécaniques.

Un accueil en toute simplicité par la propriétaire et en toute confiance que nous a également ravis.

The rooms are all very light, with windows overlooking the garden and the master bedroom has french windows opening out onto a private balcony at the rear of the building.
The apartment is equipped with WIFI internet access, TV with UK freeview channels and French TV. There is also a DVD player, a selection of DVD's and a games for children.

A True Gem

Saint Jean D'Aulps / La Grand Terche is the hidden gem in the Les Portes du Soleil ski area. Some might find that not being connected into the wider Avoriaz / Morzine / Les Gets ski lift system a disadvantage however I can assure you it isn't. The ski station has a charming, rustic feel to it and has everything you need within 2 mins walk from each other including ski hire and ski school.

As a snowboarder of 20 years travelling with 3 kids and a wife all at beginner stage and then another family with 3 people looking to learn Chalet Rufus is perfectly situated only a very short walk from all the amenities.

The chalet itself is fantastic to the point we are booking to go later in the season. Ample space for two families with a bunk bed room for the kids. All the bedrooms are good size doubles with ensuite, huge kitchen and separate dining and living area, the finish to the chalet is A1. There are toys for the kids including a Wi and great Wifi connection.

Even if you are a seasoned skier / boarder you are only a 10/15 min drive from the Ardent bubble into Avoriaz & Morzine network. The local bus also provides a connection for those not driving so your covered in terms of being able to get into the larger ski areas. Even as a seasoned boarder there are some great runs to be had with the added bonus the pistes are significantly quieter so yep you can get fresh off piste powder runs all day. I can honestly say I've had some of the best runs ever here. It's not big, exposed mountain skiing, more intimate, tree lined shorter runs. But hey still great.

For those learning it's a no brainer as the ski school and hire are right on your doorstep. Especially for those learning it is a lot more affordable as you're not paying for a ski pass that covers a huge mountain area that you'll never get to see. The ESF school has English and French speakers and the Piou Piou for younger children is perfect.

As I've said we love the area and are booking the chalet again so we can only recommend it.

There have been quite a few days in the season when I've skied up there and not seen another sole; at some points on the Roc d'Enfer circuit you really feel like you are in the wilderness! The Rufus Apartment is in an excellent location, a minutes walk from the telecabine at la Grande Terche, the ski resort of St Jean d'Aulps. You can actually ski back to the door of the apartment, snow conditions dependant. It is also only a 10 minute drive into the centre of Morzine, for those wanting more extensive skiing.
