About Sue Eident

I (Sue) have been coming up to ski at Okemo since I was a child - my family belonged to the Sikorsky Ski Club. Okemo is a mountain for all levels of skiing in such a lovely town. Our kids are now grown and scattered but we had so many wonderful ski weekends at the house when they were young. Now we mostly enjoy kayaking across the street in summer and snow shoeing in winter, and of course the hot tub! We lived in the Middle East for a few years and have lovely antiques and rugs in the house that we brought back with us.

Why Sue Eident chose Ludlow / Okemo Mountain Area

My husband and I bought the house in 2001 and have made many improvements since including the addition. We fell in love with it at first sight! First the perfect location, close to the mountain, yet private. The original owner was a farmer and talented violin maker who build the house in 1905 when he was 71! The barn still has the milking stations for his cows. The house has a farmhouse feel and retains many of the original features yet is so comfortable and roomy for modern living.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Perfect location: proximity to the mountain for skiing but wonderful also for summer - sitting on the porch enjoying coffee and the fabulous views across the street, kayaking and canoeing and exploring all that south-central Vermont offers.

Cozy and great for groups

  • 5 of 5

The house was great for a weekend ski trip. Very close to the mountain, perfect for our group of 10. The house was spacious enough but cozy, and we loved the wood burning stove. The kitchen was well stocked as well and the owners were helpful and responded quickly. Would highly recommend!

Comfortable, spacious and close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend staying at this home if you are interested in skiing at Okemo. I organized a trip here for my brother's 30th birthday with our cousins/spouses. We had 8 adults staying in the house. The house itself is comfortable, spacious and well-kept. Everything we needed was within a 3 minute drive - the grocery store, the beer/liquor store, the ski shop, and the mountain of course! After a long day of skiing, this house was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy each others company. We cooked at the house every night, played games (they have cards, several board games and foozball), and went in the large hot tub. Sue was wonderful and easy to work with while organizing our stay. Thank you!!

Very Comfy!

  • 4 of 5

6 adults and 4 children had a very comfy stay here over the February school vacation. Room for all with the two sitting rooms and plenty of place for everyone to share dinner.

Perfect Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

This was such a great house for two families (9 adults) staying close to Okemo Mountain for New Year!

The house had all the charm of a quaint farmhouse with modern upgrades and plenty of space for two families.

We enjoyed chilling around the wood burning stove playing games and having family meals around the dining table.

The house feels cozy but also offers extra space with the addition of the large family room with cathedral ceilings.

Perfect location, close to Ludlow downtown area and very close to the main base of Okemo.

The large hot tub was such a great place to relax after skiing.

We had a wonderful time.

Thanks Sue!

Good for hikes in summer

  • 4 of 5

Me and a couple of friends came up to Vermont to do some hiking, overall a trip to reconnect. Sue was an excellent help. She provided us with places to check out such as activities wise. Any problems I had, she was just an email away. Having a grocery store right down the road was a plus. She made payments easy and was patient. We got our full deposit back. There were some minor things, the hot tub wasn't working for us but it was over 80 degrees so we didn't care as much etc. The house set up was cute

Perfect house for a family getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 3 and 9) recently returned from a stay at this home in Ludlow. We traveled to Vermont from NY to see the beautiful fall foliage. The owner of the house was a pleasure to deal with and answered all of our questions before we reserved the weekend. This was our first time renting a house, and I was nervous about the process but it was so easy and painless. The house itself is very spacious and in a great location- it's located on a quiet, scenic road in Ludlow but just a few blocks away from dining and a great little downtown area. This rental is a great deal. It was less expensive than booking 2 rooms at an inn, and you can't beat the convenience of having a full kitchen when traveling with kids. They loved the yard and taking walks around the neighborhood. We had a great view of the hills from the porch every morning, and after spending the day sightseeing, it was very nice to return to this clean and well-furnished house for the night. We're definitely spoiled now and hope to return next year.
