Vanessa purchased this chalet in 2011
We fell in love with the view first and the neighborhood second. It is the perfect blend between quiet and residential and close to town and skiing!
The service and quality of a hotel and the space and amenities of a home.
We just arrived home yesterday and had a lovely trip your home was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This chalet worked out perfectly for us! It is a beautiful home and very well equipped and maintained. For us the location was perfect; very easy access to hiking trails and Brevant lift and is on a street high above the town. It was a quiet street above the bustle of town yet easy walking distance (albeit down and up the hill!). The views are absolutely spectacular of Mont Blanc. It is large enough that it gave us flexibility for accommodating friends and family we weren't sure were going to come, but was still very nice for the 3 of us.
Vanessa was very helpful to work with and answered some travel/logistics questions for me and met us at the driveway. She had warned us of construction of a new house going up next door and offered the option of changing or cancelling our reservation. But, she checked on the work hours and the timing was when we would be out hiking anyway so it was of little consequence (and the workers were very nice!). She left us two very generous restaurant vouchers as a very nice gesture. Her restaurant recommendations included some places just off the beaten path that might not be easily found otherwise and were excellent and a little less touristy than those on the main drag.
We were very happy there and highly recommend this chalet!
We have just returned from a wonderful week in Chamonix. The chalet was brilliant and really well equipped for our group (6 adults, 6 children and a baby). There was plenty of space for everyone and we were able to find everything we needed. The kitchen was already well stocked on our arrival with essentials like olive oil, cling film etc and we'd also been able to order our first night groceries ahead of time which was invaluable when dealing with 7 tired and hungry children! The hot tub with views of the mountains is absolutely stunning and a real highlight of the accommodation. The location is great, a flat walk to the Brevent lifts and then a further few minutes down the hill to town. We had very young children so they needed a bit of cajoling for the walk home but for adults or older children it would be a breeze.
The best thing for me, however, was how enormously helpful the owner, Vanessa was in advance of our arrival. Vanessa answered my very many questions quickly and with extremely helpful advice about which transfers, ski school and ski hire to use. All of this allowed us to book everything ahead and made for a seamless and stress free holiday.
Arrived in Chamonix on a Saturday evening with a group of friends all excited for a week of skiing. We were welcomed outside by Vanessa who welcomed us in and showed us around the chalet quickly and helpfully. The chalet itself is beautiful, and the welcome pack was a very nice touch. We had all planned on running to the shop to buy the necessities (coffee, kitchen paper etc) but quickly found all of this was supplied and we felt like we were in a home which was fully functional. The chalet is located close to Brevent Ski lift where you can catch a bus to town from if you don't fancy a walk, we used the chalet as a great base throughout a week of exploring the chamonix valley, the drying room was very handy to hang and keep all the gear over night, also the hot tub was a lovely touch to rest the legs after a day on the mountains. We had a group of 13 staying there which was very comfortable and the chalet felt large enough to feel spacious, we also cooked every night for the full group in a well equip kitchen without any problem. Overall I loved the chalet and both Vanessa and Phil were extremely helpful and very friendly. I hope to go back to Chamonix in the future and when I do I would check for this chalet first to stay here again.
Perfect for the 9 of us - comfortable, well decorated chatlet with some of the best views in the valley. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day on the slopes!
Great place and great owner. The location was perfect and the views awesome. Everything was clean and well maintained. The owner was awesome in helping us find the hidden treasures in town as well as times to see some places that might otherwise have been busy. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone. In fact we hope to stay there again when we go next year. The town was amazing and that trip up to the top of the mountain took my breath away…. literally. I couldn't breath it was so high up. Thank you again for a wonderful time.
Absolutely everything about this Chalet is wonderful! It is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and is stocked with all the high end comforts you can image. It boast multiple flat screen TVs, Ipod docks, a fully stocked kitchen, and even a hot tub for a little aprés ski relaxation. The bathroom towels are plush and large, and they provide eco-friendly toiletries and a comfy bathrobe for every guest! There is a little book with anything you need know about the property, town, and attractions. All you have to bring are your skis and clothes, as this chalet has everything you could possibly need.
Beyond all the great material items available, this property really does have the BEST view in town. It overlooks the town of Chamonix and has a direct line of sight to the glacier and Aiguille du Midi. The little balcony off the living room is perfect for drinking a cup or coffee in the morning while watching the clouds break, or even sharing an "adult" beverage at night at star gazing. We stared out the double french doors any moment we were in the living room. There's no need to watch TV when you can gaze upon the beauty that is Chamonix and the French Alps right from your living room.
As everyone has said its a short, flat walk to the Brevent ski lifts and then a little walk down the hill into town. It close enough to town and easy enough to find to let the teenagers walk around and not be worried they might get lost. A few walks up the hill and you wont be worried about gaining any extra vacation pounds. ;) If skiing isn't your thing, there are loads of other activities for all ages around town.
Last but certainly not least, the owners, Vanessa and Phil, are the most lovely people in Chamonix. They are super accommodating and are willing to help make your alpine holiday everything you dreamed it to be. As American and British ex-pats they have an attention for detail and friendly demeanor that most French-owned hotels and chalets cannot even begin to rival. After meeting Vanessa and Phil, you can understand why this chalet is as amazing as it is.
We will never stay anywhere else when we visit Chamonix! If you are contemplating booking this chalet, think no more. This is the most wonderful vacation spot in the town. Get it while you can!!!
