This charming stone house, approximately 100m2 newly renovated to a high standard, is over 3 levels, each with direct water views. Each of the top 2 floors has a bedroom with a sitting area/study, an en-suite shower room and a generous walk in closet. The top floor bedroom has a king size bed, while the one on the first floor has two double beds and a day bed in the adjacent study. On the ground floor the accommodation includes a comfortable living space with an extra day bed, a kitchen/dining area looking out over the wall of Kotor and the boats sailing by.
The interior of the house follows a traditional Mediterranean style with old stone walls and wooden beams combined with contemporary design and a nautical theme in a symphony of grey, tope and blue colours. Facilities include air conditioning, pay-as-you go internet USB stick, DVD player, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, bed linen and towels.
We had a great time at the old Fisherman's House. It was a tremendous situation with fantastic views. With a short walk from the house there were restaurants and bars and mini supermarkets. It was situated opposite Kotor and much quieter than the town. The house was clean and very well maintained and we had excellent customer service from Anka when we had a couple of little problems.
We enjoyed our stay at Muo as the house was perfect for our family stay and had everything we needed. Fantastic view of the sea and mountains from the windows and the house is perfectly located for Kotor and the Adriatic coast.
Lovely property, clearly lots of time, effort and thought has gone into the renovation. Very clean, good quality linens and furnishing, excellent facilities all round. Fantastic view - I cannot honestly pick fault with anything at all. Even the neighbours were very friendly.
Excellent communication with Nigel the owner and would most definitely recommend, we hope to return sometime.
Nice and well equipped house apartment with nice view to Kotor bay and mountains. Air condition was welcomed when outside temperature was close 35 degrees. Good place to stay if you like hiking, swims in the bay to cool down. I had Large minivan (VW Caravel) which was almost to big to park or confront the traffic so any smaller car is fine and less thrilling experience (the road is narrow and parking lot quite small). Could give even five stars if there were kitchen knife (and sharpener) and not only saw-tooth knifes.
The hostess who opened door was friendly and helpful.
House was clean and well kept and everything worked.
I can gladly recommend this house to friends, relatives and enemies.
I Did not like the plastic bag culture in super markets, the amounts of plastic is absolutely absurd, Back home ill get same amount bags in whole year.
Beautifully renovated cottage in an excellent location. We enjoyed watching the boats come and go. We loved swimming in the clear waters. We loved Kotor and all it offered. We found lovely beaches with great services to relax at during the day and at night caught Taxis into town and dined in style. The house had most things we needed. I didn't take a hairdryer as we only took hand luggage, I wrongly presumed there would be one there. So take your own if you need one. The only other thing to mention is there isn't anywhere to sit out and enjoy the views from the property, which wasn't clear when we booked. However this didn't detract from our enjoyment as we ate out in the evening and spent the days on the beach or sightseeing.
We flew from Dubrovnik and getting over the border from Croatia to Montenegro wasn't a problem but travelling back the other way took a long time with a queue at the border over 2-3 hrs. allow this travelling back.
We have just returned from two truly excellent weeks staying in this beautiful holiday cottage. The accommodation is wonderful with everything you require for an enjoyable break. Anka and her team on site were really helpful and gave us one of the most detailed introductions to the property/ area that we have ever had. The view from the window is amazing and we spent many early evenings watching the cruise liners come and go, but the most enjoyable bit was checking the cost of the super yachts as they passed by. We ate out most evenings and the restaurant just along the road past the marina was excellent, the food was superb and the view spectacular. Taxis were plentiful and cheap, 3 euros in to Kotor old Town ( avoid the Mercedes as they were twice the price). The old town had a huge choice of restaurants , our family favorite was the City restaurant with their resident sax player keeping us entertained on each visit. If you hire a car, head to Lustica and Plavia Horizonte beach ( go through the tunnel, straight over the roundabout and keep on that road to the end). The beach is beautiful, fine sand and ideal for kids, you can walk out at least a couple of hundred meters from the shore. Be warned its very busy, but it was August so most beaches are. They hire two sunbeds and a umbrella with table for 8 euros and day. If you get time head to Prerast, its spectacular setting and beautiful buildings are a wonderful place to spend a few hours. The air conditioning was a life saver as temperatures each day hit 37 as was a cooling swim of the pontoon directly outside the property. Our teenagers were also really grateful for the wifi. Overall a wonderful property and setting, I would suggest visiting soon because I cant imagine this area will stay so undiscovered for much longer.
The bay of Kotor is a sunny fiord in the Adriatic sea, rich of natural beauty and historical places such as Kotor, Perast and Stoliv. The local architecture is testimony of a glorious history. First under Greek, Roman, Turkish and Venetian influence, the region became later part of the Russian and the Austrian empires. Tall green mountains reach narrow beaches on the clear blue water of the sea in a beautifully dramatic scenery. Nine very small islands with their old churches give the bay a unique character.
In summer the various marinas around the bay are populated with elegant yachts as well as traditional fisherman boats. The new development of Portomontenegro with its chic boutiques and lively restaurants is only a five minutes drive from Kotor.
The place can be very pleasant off season as well, with a temperature ever hardly below 10-12 degrees C in winter.
