What can I say, from start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, the communication with Nigel was excellent. We had already booked a taxi from the airport (Red Taxi) which took around 15-20 minutes and we were met on arrival by Anka's colleague who showed us around the cottage.
The location is perfect, just far enough away from the Old Town in a quiet setting overlooking the bay, as previously stated the view from the kitchen window is amazing.
The bedrooms have plenty of room and there is plenty of space in the closets with shelves and hangers. The beds were comfortable and the shower was always hot.
The kitchen area has all you need for self catering and the two fridges give you ample room.
The is a nice seating area at the back of the cottage to relax in the evening. You will find a small convenient store within 2 minutes walk which we visited most mornings for fresh bread. The Blue Line bus stop is right outside the store and it cost 1 Euro each to take us into the Old Town and just 3 Euro for a visit to Perast. We found both the buses and taxi's a very cheap way to get around. Just past the Marina in Muo is a small restaurant with seating outside overlooking the bay, we had a meal here which was nice.
It was sad to leave as we had a really nice time but we are definitely going to return next year.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Nigel whilst we were having drinks one night at Ladovina Kitchen & Wine Bar which we can highly recommend.
Beautiful place to stay.
The property is fantastic, in a wonderful location, just 25 minutes walk (or very quick bus ride) from the centre of Kotor Old Town. The quality of décor & furnishings are excellent, the view across the bay is stunning..
You can swim from the jetty's opposite, watch the cruise ships come & go, & catch a bus to Kotor & beyond from the road just outside.
Kotor is as excellent destination to spend a few days strolling around. It is beautiful & well kept, with numerous bars & restaurants for you to stop at & "People watch!"
We walked to & from Kotor many times, stopping at the Relax bar or Ludovino's for rest & refreshments as required.
Well worth a visit into the mountains, amazing views & scenery, would recommend Travel Zoo (0038269277749 or 0038269276212) - in the 1st entrance to the old town along & on your right. Would also recommend them for taxi transfers to & from Tivat (15 euros for us both each way from them, 25 euros from the taxi men outside the airport even after haggling).
People very friendly, toilets a bit dodgy is some establishments! But worth noting the public toilets in the old town are excellent.
So, would recommend the location, & would highly recommend the property.
A beautiful place
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view of Kotor bay from the kitchen window was a highlight. The cottage is beautifully set up and well equipped with everything we needed. The location was a perfect base for exploring the rest of the coastline.
The property was well appointed and beautifully renovated.
We had a great time at the old Fisherman's House. It was a tremendous situation with fantastic views. With a short walk from the house there were restaurants and bars and mini supermarkets. It was situated opposite Kotor and much quieter than the town. The house was clean and very well maintained and we had excellent customer service from Anka when we had a couple of little problems.
Lovely waterside cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Muo as the house was perfect for our family stay and had everything we needed. Fantastic view of the sea and mountains from the windows and the house is perfectly located for Kotor and the Adriatic coast.
Fantastic property in lovely location
Lovely property, clearly lots of time, effort and thought has gone into the renovation. Very clean, good quality linens and furnishing, excellent facilities all round. Fantastic view - I cannot honestly pick fault with anything at all. Even the neighbours were very friendly.
Excellent communication with Nigel the owner and would most definitely recommend, we hope to return sometime.
Thank you for this very warm and honest review. It says it all and how the house lives while we are in residence. Thank you very much!
The bay of Kotor is a sunny fiord in the Adriatic sea, rich of natural beauty and historical places such as Kotor, Perast and Stoliv. The local architecture is testimony of a glorious history. First under Greek, Roman, Turkish and Venetian influence, the region became later part of the Russian and the Austrian empires. Tall green mountains reach narrow beaches on the clear blue water of the sea in a beautifully dramatic scenery. Nine very small islands with their old churches give the bay a unique character. In summer the various marinas around the bay are populated with elegant yachts as well as traditional fisherman boats. The new development of Portomontenegro with its chic boutiques and lively restaurants is only a five minutes drive from Kotor. The place can be very pleasant off season as well, with a temperature ever hardly below 10-12 degrees C in winter.
