French Doors open to a breakfast deck right on the water. Excellent client reviews, especially from honeymooning couples. All dogs report this is the best place to chase sticks and balls into the water that they can remember!
We had a wonderful stay a Waters Edge. This is one of the more private spots on Joe's Pond. The cabin is cozy with a great view of the lake and a large deck for waterside cookouts. This is the perfect place to be if you want to spend the day on the water, with a private beach and kayaks provided by the owner. It is nice to find an owner that welcomes dogs and our dog loved swimming and playing here. Another feature we really enjoyed is the rail-trail right out the back door, which is great for a walk with the dog or family bike ride. We are looking forward to staying here again this summer.
My wife and I found Water`s Edge to be a terrific spot to unwind. Our dogs loved it, as well. The "Rails-to trails" walkway behind the cottage was a source of enjoyment with walking, biking, and meeting both locals and vacationers.
Besides the amenities immediately present on Joe`s Pond, Danville hosts many events during the summer which provide lovely local flavor (concerts, farmers markets, etc.), as well as a grocery store at the local Irving Gas station whose meat quality tops Whole Foods Markets (along with a beer selection to make any hop-head weep with joy).
I`ll echo any positive comments offered in the past, as well. It`s a lovely place, and the price is right.
Quaint, rustic cottage on the beautiful Joe's Pond. Bed was comfortable, shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Kitchen was well equipped. Wood stove worked great and kept the cottage very comfortable even though it was quite chilly (30's) outside. The old railroad tracks close to the cottage have been converted to a bike/walking trail that goes on for miles.
We love visiting Joe’s pond and staying in this lovely cottage, with our two dogs. This is our second visit to this beautiful place. The house has a handsome maroon/red cast iron stove; the impeccable wood floors are covered with oriental-type rugs. The kitchen is fully equipped, the refrigerator is huge, and we created some delicious memorable meals. The bedroom is connected to a lovely small porch and the bed is comfortable, with high quality linens and comfy pillow. As you can see from the pictures, the pond is directly next to the house and the kayaks and canoes are easily accessible and dependable. The hosts, Mary Ellen, and her family, went out of their way to be helpful, but also fully respected our privacy. We had a wonderful time. We ate well, slept well, got plenty of fresh air, and hope to return next year.
Listing description was accurate, property very clean and well maintained, the owner was particularly wonderful to work with. She was amenable to our particular situation and was easily accessible for ongoing communications. I would highly recommend this property. What a beautiful little place in a wonderful location. How great was it to have kayaks available to us and what a beautiful, clean pond! Thanks so much for sharing your property!
We have had a lovely time, and have really enjoyed the cabin. The cabin has a wonderful and comfortable lived-in feel to it, You have decorated with such an eye for beauty and color. We have also enjoyed the pond, the trails, the kayaks and canoe. The dogs are pooped from running at the nearby Dog Mountain.
We have fallen in love with the green of Vermont and the lush and beautiful landscape.
We wanted to stop and thank you.
Canoeing, kayaking, boating, antiquing, fishing, hiking, biking, festivals. For the true feeling of Vermont this Northeast Kingdom spot is absolutely the best. It is my home away from home and I know you will love this area also. The folks at the corner stores are a wealth of information on local color and special spots. Private without being isolated.
Closed for the Winter and spring. Call for Season Start and end dates.
