LANTANA 8, Lovely 1 bedroom ground floor apartment (3 storey). The bedroom has a double bed and fitted wardrobes with direct access to the large terrace to catch the morning sun. The shower room has a large mirrored storage cabinet. Air-con in bedroom and ceiling fans in both bedroom and sitting room, which makes a comfortable area to enjoy satellite TV, wifi also available; American style kitchen fully equipped with washing machine, fridgefreezer and microwave. The terrace is gated and can be locked, suited with a dining table and 4 chairs, 2 armchairs and a coffee table.

LANTANA apts have 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, with large terrace area and views to the sea and West Coast. Adjacent to charming Chattel Houses and wonderful Beach Front Villas, the development is very favorably positioned just 2.4km north of Holetown.

The beach at Alleynes Bay is 2 minute walk from the site, here you will find a beach bar serving delicious food, there are also many other well known stretches of beach - from Glitter Bay & Lonestar in the South; to Gibbs, Mullins & Indulgence Spa area to the North - are also within walking distance. 2 large free-form swimming pools with loungers and brollys, generous covered decks and fantastic sea views. Secure controlled entry and private car parking.

There are two types of buses service Barbados. Blue buses with yellow stripes are government-owned; their smaller, yellow and blue-striped counterparts are privately-owned. There is a bus stop outside the apartments, cost is the same to all destinations- 2 BDS. approx 66 pence.

Adjacent to charming Chattel Houses and wonderful Beach Front Villas it is well located just 2.5 Km north of Holetown and only two minutes’ walk from the quiet golden sands of Alleynes Beach. Other well-known stretches of beach from Glitter Bay and Lonestar in the South to Gibbs/Mullins and the Indulgence Spa area to the North are just a short distance from the apartment.

The modern Lantana development has 2 large free- form swimming pools, secure controlled entry and plenty of private parking, however a car is not essential as there is good public transport links to Holetown, Speightstown and beyond.

The apartment is available for weekly or longer lets with a flexible changeover day. Longer term rentals or booking using only 1 or 2 bedroom may be available at discounted rates, please e-mail for details. Please note there is strictly no smoking in the apartment.


Holetown is 5 minute drive from Weston. In this vicinity you will find restaurants, bars and a very fine bakery/patisserie. The newly opened Lime Grove Lifestyle Centre is a fabulous oasis in the center of Holetown and showcases many designer boutiques including Ralph Lauren, Armani Exchange and Breitling to name but a few, stylish coffee shops, bars and restaurants allow for relaxation whilst browsing, The centre also incorporates a gym and beauty salon to rejuvenate even the weariest shopper. The shopping mall has a coffee area, small duty free Cave Shepherd outlet, a well stocked supermarket, Internet café and boutiques. An additional walk of 5 minutes will bring you to a larger Cave Shepherd Duty Free shop.

There are restaurants specializing in Italian, Indian or Thai as well as traditional Bajan food.

Just a short distance from Speightstown to the north, the island’s second largest town, (about 5 minutes drive). Once known as Little Bristol because of connections to Bristol on the West Coast of England, Speightstown still has a feel of old time Barbados about it. There is a fish market on the seafront, fruit and vegetable sellers on the road side, a couple of local restaurants, bars and shops, plus a very well stocked supermarket.

The island has the relatively tranquil Caribbean Sea on the west coast and and on the east coast the invigorating Atlantic Ocean.

My husband and I visited Barbados 22-29th December 2014 and we stayed in Lantana 8 a 1 bedroom apartment.

If you're looking for comfortable, clean, safe accommodation then Lantana is a fantastic base. Competitively priced and perfectly located and a short distance from many of the top beaches, bars and restaurants of the West Coast. The world famous Lone Star being 10 mins walk away. Mullins Beach Bar 10 mins and the Fish Pot 15 mins by bus. 5 mins by bus to Holetown where there's a fantastic supermarket and many restaurants and bars. 10 mins in a taxi to The Cliff and Cin Cin.

We really had a fabulous holiday and will certainly return to Barbados and almost likely stay at Lantana. it was an easy, enjoyable experience booking our accommodation and Joan was more than happy to answer my many questions prior to arriving in Barbados.

We were in Barbados for Christmas week and my only disappointment was Lantana couldn’t accommodate us for our full stay and we spent our final night at Discovery Bay in Holetown which is an all inclusive hotel on the beach. I was not a fan of being ‘in the thick of it’ in Holetown and personally can’t bear living the all-inclusive dream and being tied to one set-up.

I enjoyed the privacy of Lantana and spending our days at different beach clubs and going to amazing restaurants in the evening (which you must book in advance) and then back to Lantana for a good nights sleep. There’s a well equipped kitchen, washing machine, tv etc if you have the inclination to cook, clean or wash on holiday!!! The pool at Lantana is a good size and there were a couple of families round it most days. If you hire a car there’s adequate parking space.

If you like what I’ve said you should book Lantana as its excellent value for where and what it is.

Clean,Modern, Tidy well serviced and cared for by the excellent and attentertive Agnes.

Well situated for access to the beaches -short bus ride into Holetown or Speightown. Property is very safe and secure ie gated access. Decent size rooms and air con. Pleasant pool area. Slight road noise but after a few days hardly noticeable .

Perfect position for exploring the West side

The property was perfect for our needs. Good air conditioning in the bedroom, nice outside patio space, small inside, but very clean with excellent internet and direct access onto a lovely pool area which was never crowded or busy. Agnes was there to explain everything and was always available if we had any questions at all - lovely! Garden areas were well maintained and pleasant.

Excellent spot from which to enjoy both Holetown and Speightstown.

We booked on here, via Joan, and communication was excellent. Would really recommend.

It was an adequate base which we basically used only to shower and sleep in the end. The apartment was very small with no-where to put your empty suitcases once you'd unpacked and just one small cupboard to hang shirts and tops only. Shoes had to be left out on the floor but on the plus side there was adequate drawer space. The property is very tired inside and needs to be decorated and furnished in colours other than brown, it had a musty smell to it the whole time we were there so we couldn't wait to open the doors in the morning and let the fresh air in. We got the impression the property had been empty for a while as it wasn't freshly clean when we arrived, however the clean the following week when we checked out (and came back to pick up luggage) is what we would have expected. It's a shame really as the main property isn't that old and has a fairly modern kitchen but the rest of the décor doesn't quite fit and was very disappointing. The bathroom towels are all thin and worn too so generally it just needs a bit of an update. The terrace area by the pool however was lovely with modern furniture and was nice to sit outside and have the odd breakfast but it was very close to the main road. Overall and based on previous stays on the island, we were extremely disappointed. However it was a great location for the beaches and restaurants we wanted to go to, so because we are familiar with Barbados we just used it as a base in the end and went out and about and made the most of the island.

Great accommodations, reasonably priced

We were in Lantana 8 in January 2016 for two weeks. The unit is very well positioned on the property - steps to the pool, western exposure. The condo itself is well equipped and comfortable, and we didn't notice any noise between units. This unit was in the building closest to the beach, which was only a short walk away. The grounds are well groomed with lovely gardens. The building is secure and we always felt safe.

The property is located a few minutes north of Holetown, easily accessible on the bus (the bus stop is just steps from the condo). The buses are a very inexpensive way to explore the island, but can be a bit hair-raising with some interesting driving (yellow buses, especially). There are lots of buses though, so if you want a seat and slower ride, wait for a blue bus (government operated). There are a number of super restaurants in Holetown, and the grocery store (Massy Superstore) was perfect for groceries and dry goods.

The condo is close to the road, which can be loud throughout the day but it gets very quiet at night. Likewise, the condo is adjacent to a primary school so there can be a lot of noise during recess and lunch, and at the end of the school day. None of this bothered us - we were out and about most days, and for those days we relaxed around the pool, we just considered it the sound of daily life.

One of the units in the building was under renovation - and although we realize this was not the fault of the condo owner, the hammering and knocking was annoying and chased us from the condo for a couple of days.

All in all we had a wonderful vacation and would recommend this condo for anyone wishing to visit Barbados and go at their own pace. As mentioned, be prepared for a bit of noise.

The Weston Fish Market is just a short stroll away providing a daily supply of quality fresh fish and local flavour. The popular Tropicana Surf Break is also just a quick stroll down the beach.
