Ideal location, apartment, and owner helpfulness
We were delighted with our 4 nights in Claudia's place. The property was exactly as described on the VRBO listing. We had high expectations, and were pleased to discover that our expectations were exceeded. We are adventuresome travelers who always try to find places where we can live as temporary locals, in a real neighborhood, where we can shop with the locals in their local markets, prepare our own meals, and enjoy relaxed meals in our own outdoor courtyard as the locals do. Claudia's apartment was ideal for us, away from the tourist clamor, in a traditional neighborhood within the walls of the medieval city. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed; the Thursday farmers market was nearby, as was a neighborhood mini-market for other basics. Everything was spotlessly clean.Claudia lives in the adjoining property and was very welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend her place!
Thank you for your kind words, Charlotte. We appreciate that you have taken the time to share your experiences with us - and we agree that Claudiais truly a gem in our team! We count ourselves happy to have you as a guest. We look forward to seeing you back in Rhodes in the future!
Un endroit de charme
Une jolie maison, confortable et agréable, dans un quartier calme de la ville médiévale, à quelques minutes du centre. Une propriétaire absolument adorable. Vraiment un endroit à recommander avec enthousiasme.
It was a great pleasure to host Martine & Jaques ,beautiful people with a cheerful soul came as strangers and left as friends. Thank you so much -we will meet again. warmest greetings from Rhodes Claudia
PLEASE NOTE :
the house is located close to the Synagogue and opposite the moat and the theatre of Melina Merkuri where during summer times open air concerts are performed. The name of the street is Ekatonous
UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE,THE MEDIEVAL CITY OF RHODES
Its a joy to wander through the pedestrian-only, cobbled streets of Rhodes Towns old town, protected by 14th-century fortifications measuring 4km (2.5 miles) in length. The top attraction is the vast 14th-century Palace of the Grand Masters, housing a museum tracing the islands history. To reach it, walk up Ippoton Street, lined with ‘inns, each one representing a different country from where the knights originated. Close by, the 15th-century Knights Hospital houses the Archaeological Museum, while the nearby Byzantine Museum displays religious icons and frescoes in the former cathedral. Also take a look at the pink 16th-century Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent, built when Rhodes was controlled by the Ottomans. A short distance southwest of town, overlooking the sea, the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes is home to the Temple of Apollo. Many cruise companies also offer a half-day excursion by bus to Lindos, a whitewashed hillside village crowned by a medieval fortress and an ancient Greek temple.
