The Perfect Vermont Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for a better place stay during our trip to Vermont! The house was so beautiful on the inside and out. It accommodated our large group very well. It never felt crowded and was the perfect spot to gather with friends and catch up in beautiful common areas. Hope to go back one day!

the perfect home

  • 5 of 5

This home is so perfect for any group, large or small. Extremely comfortable and spacious and afforded us many opportunities to have intimate conversations with a few or all be together as a group. The kitchen is perfect for preferring large meals and is stocked with everything you'd need. It's furnished and decorated in a way that really makes it feel like a home away from home.

Will return!

Gorgeous Architectural Gem

  • 5 of 5

I came up to the Upper Pines Lodge for a long weekend, and felt utterly transported. The house is enormous--- with plenty of different types of places for a large group to spread out in--- and well appointed. But it is also an incredibly warm and inviting retreat, perfectly situated in a beautiful, secluded forest.

As an architect, I was drawn to the unique features of the house and site, as well as the building craft. The property is just full of unique architectural moments, from the simple shed that greets you upon arrival to the gorgeous woodwork on the interior. Custom cabinetry, stonework, and light fixtures stand out as art pieces in their own right, and it is a pleasure to stay in a place where every detail has been considered.

The Upper Pines Lodge was a treat to explore and inhabit in the winter, I recommend it highly.

Excellent stay, beautiful cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We fully enjoyed our stay at the Upper Pines Lodge. The cabin is unique, stunning and perfectly located very close to Lincol Peak/Sugarbush. All as advertised and more. We stayed with another family (4 adults, 5 young boys). Plenty of room for all, with a room to spare. The media room was a great gathering spot for the kids to watch movies etc., while the adults enjoyed time around the fire in the comfortable living/family room. We would stay again, and have no reservations recommending Upper Pines Lodge for a stay in the Mad River Valley any time of year.

Celebrating the New Year in The Upper Pines Lodge

  • 5 of 5

10 of us made a plan to gather to celebrate the New Years in Warren, VT. I spent HOURS scouring for just the right home and must admit was giving up hope when I changed my parameters one last time and The Upper Pines Lodge appeared on my screen. With exactly room for 10 and happy to accept my two dogs I knew I had found "the one." 5 months later when we opened the door to Jack's lodge we could not have been more delighted. The house was warm and welcoming and the ideal backdrop for our New Year's Eve festivities. We skied most days and then rushed back to the home to relax, play games, and sip wine by the fire(s). We stashed the four kids on the top floor to sleep and, as city kids, they were over the moon happy to have their own private kid space. And the master suite was pretty much as big as our apartment. This home is NOT your average rental and the owner is uber attentive to the details about his home but also to you as a renter. He was always available for questions and even answered some questions before you had them - mind reader! It is a special place worthy of a special occasion or will make any occasion special just by being there.
