A beautiful country home and grounds 12 minutes from San Sebastian

This property is a large, renovated country home with 5 bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms and multiple sitting areas throughout. The spacious grounds are carefully landscaped with several outdoor sitting or dining areas including an ivy covered terrace for late afternoon/evening drinks etc. The kitchen is updated and complete with all necessary appliances, pots/pans, and cooking accessories. We started out planning for a larger group and this home would be perfect for several couples or a family type vacation. Two couples made the trip and, because of the way the house was renovated, it still felt cozy for a smaller group.

The property is about 1/2 mile outside Usurbil, which has several small markets and a welcoming local bar at the rotary in the center of town. You could easily walk into town from the house. Although some have said the house was hard to locate, we did not find that to be the case, especially with GPS and google maps. SS is about 10k from the house and readily accessible on the local route 634, which also runs along the coast between SS and several towns heading west to Bilbao. The local road into SS is good, easy to navigate and quick. The location was central for travelling to some of the coastal towns like Getaria and Zaruast; a little over an hour to Bilbao and about the same to Logrono for a vineyard crawl. Two hours to Santander and Santillana del Mar.

The house is managed by family owners, particularly Telmo, who is a great help and a font of info on the area and local food options in Usurbil, SS and other spots, like Getaria. Try the local cider houses on the outside edges of Usurbil for traditional local and Basque fare along with the biggest grilled steaks this side of Texas or Florence. Beautiful Spacious House with a Lovely Terrace

This house is a gorgeous restored farmhouse with a lot of traditional charm. It has a lot of room for a group or a family to stay. There's a lot of seating outdoors where one can enjoy the gardens, the terrace, or the landscape. The kitchen was more than adequate for us and the bathrooms are modern. It is well located (although a bit hard to find via Google Maps/GPS) in close proximity to town, where there are good restaurants (Saizar and Kentuene are great) and a large grocery store. The location is convenient for visiting San Sebastián, the coast, and the mountains. There's also a train station in Usurbil, which was very convenient for our itinerary. Highly recommended!

Heaven on earth

What an exceptional home! We stayed in the Ursubil house for one month and it was the best house we have ever rented. Ricardo and his son Ricky were terrific hosts, catering to all our needs, going to special efforts to cater for our young children. The house was beautifully stocked with all that you could possibly need. The gardens were magical and our kids loved picking fresh raspberries and feeding apples to the neighbourhood Donkey. We loved getting back to the peace and quiet of Ursubil after busy days in San Sebastian. It was simply awesome.

Une belle demeure authentique conforme a la description de l'annonce, au calme, au vert et proche des accès ( supermarché, route, accès à Donostia ...). intérieur et extérieur entretenu avec soin.

La distribution de la maison permet des zones privatives ( plusieurs salles de bains et plusieurs salons) ce qui est idéal pour des locations entre amis.

Beautiful, spacious house

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unique house. There was more than enough room for the eight of us. We enjoyed sitting on the garden patio in the evenings. The Usurbil towns people were very friendly and helpful. Telmo was also very helpful taking my brothers around the town to show them where things were. It is very close to San Sebastián and an easy drive to France, Pamplona and Bilboa.
