Just want you to know the house did not meet our expectations, it's absolutely amazing and blows away what we thought it was going to be. About to hit the slopes, looking forward to making this a yearly trip!
This house does have the best view! We were there on New Year's Eve and watched the torch parade and fireworks right from the house. The sledding hill was great for our two families of pre teens and teens. I would suggest making reservations at the local restaurants well in advance during holiday weeks.
We were 3 families traveling from NE Pennsylvania. We had 5 adults and 6 kids: boys 16,15,13,12,12 and one girl 15. The house was a perfect fit for the crowd. The boys loved sleeping down in the game room and lone girl had the small bedroom on the next floor. Each couple
(and the single Mom) had their own queen-king bedroom. The 2 1/2 baths were ample as well. With the 4 levels it seemed like a large home.
We prepared all our dinners and breakfasts in and the kitchen worked out great. It has everything that you need and we were able to eat together because there were plenty of chairs and we combined the table to make one large dinner table. It was great family fun!!
The game room provided lots of entertainment. The boys were "pumping" the tunes and we had several ping pong tournaments and dart tournaments. I would recommend this house particularly to a large family or group.
My only complaint was that the conditions on the mountain did not allow us to enjoy the ski in/off feature. Hopefully next year!!! Obviously we can't control Mother Nature. Also, make note that all the floors are accessed by a wood spiral staircase. It wasn't a problem for our group but maybe for some.
Thank you Matt for allowing us to stay in your home and enjoy Sugarbush. I'll be in touch about 2017 trip!!!
We were just 2 couples and this house easily accommodated our every desire.
The expansive views of the resort and mountain, from the living room and loft, have to be some of the best in VT. Skiing is made easy by nearby trail access. Much easier than needing to drive to the parking lot each morning.
Oh, and don't miss Chez Henri for dinner. This excellent Bistro is only a short drive or a 15 minute walk from the house. Henri and Bernard are great hosts and our meal was superb.
This house is gorgeous! The photos simply do not do it justice. We had a great stay and skied to the lift everyday. The interior is very nice cabin/ski house feel and well maintained. We had a great stay and would definitely come back.
There were 10 of us of various ages that rented the chalet for a week. WE enjoyed the skiing at Sugarbush. Some of us even skied at Mad River Glen which is nearby. Some of us went out on snow shoes and said the trails very very nice. There is something for everyone to do. The house was everything that it was advertised to be and we really enjoyed being there. If we are ever in that area again for a vacation I would definitely rent the house again and would recommend it to anyone I know.
Ski on/ off Sugarbush, off the 'out to lunch' trail, sledding hill out the door to the right, complete game room in basement (billiards, ping-pong, darts, Lifecycle, Stairmaster, 50' Plasma TV, Blue-ray player, kids hoops), walk or ski to village and restaurants.
Close to the best VT Restaurants, Chez Henri (over 50 years good), Timbers, Pitcher Inn (romantic), The Common Man, Castlerock Pub, Paradise Deli, Peasant, American Flatbread (great for kids - outside fire pit), Mint, The Mad Taco, The Butchery, The Sweat Spot, Big Picture Theatre and Cafe (great breakfast), Hyde Away, Etc., Cross country skiing at Blueberry Hill, hiking on the long trail (both winter and summer), snowshoeing.
Fitness center with indoor tennis courts, spa, pool, hot tub, basketball, simulated rock climbing wall, racquetball, all in the village, two minutes from house.
This location is amazing all year round.

Have you ever played a legend?
Robert Trent Jones Sr. paid a visit to Sugarbush in 1961 and decided to offer his expertise in designing the Resort’s golf course. Mr. Jones is one of history’s great masters of golf course architecture and his legendary talent is apparent in every one of the 18 holes of the Sugarbush Golf Club. Designed with remarkable respect for the natural surroundings, this par-71 course is as beautiful as the game itself. You will experience a golf journey through the hilltops of the Mad River Valley, featuring inspiring views at every tee, making each hole a story unto itself.
The Sugarbush Golf Club has a full-service pro shop, featuring an extensive line of golf equipment, accessories and apparel, lessons and clinics taught by our professional PGA staff, and Hogan's Pub, where you can relax on the deck, enjoy lunch, and soak in the sun and breathtaking mountain views. The course has gone through a major upgrade in the last several years. Very Nice.
