This adobe house was lovingly redone by us to be the office of our puppet and object theatre. (Our workshop is east of the house.) We've moved our office and now offer the house to travelers. The house is modest outside and interestingly contemporary inside. In the spring and summer, there are lilacs, roses, peaches, apples and grapes (100+ year old vine) growing around the property.
The house has two bedrooms, with a queen bed in one and a futon in another, plus a twin bed possibility in the living room. Sleeps 3-4 comfortably. There is lots of light and gorgeous hard wood floors.
Easy access to downtown, major freeways (I-25 and I-40), public transportation, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Old Town, museums, the Nature Center and the Albuquerque Bio Park and Botanic Garden and La Montanita Organic Food Co-op.
The house has welcomed friends from around the world and is ready for the next guests. Your two hosts, who live three miles away, speak French, German, Spanish and English.
We'll leave a bicycle on the back porch, and can provide a second if requested. There's a Mac computer with secure internet and movie DVDs, a small library that includes art and puppetry books, and good coffee and tea in the breakfast area of the house.
There's a bar and music venue with an outdoor patio (Low Spirits) within walking distance and a burger place three minutes by foot. Also a little convenience store with an ATM and gas station three blocks away. There's an organic food co-op and a vegetarian restaurant both within 7 minutes by car. And the train stations to catch the local Rail Runner to Santa Fe are super close.
We are happy to share our knowledge of the area, if you desire!
