Why Emma Jorge de Joa chose Las Terrenas
Samaná Peninsula is world-renowned for its phenomenal eco-tourism: Hike through rainforests, see majestic waterfalls, or tour one of the Dominican Republic's national parks. Surrounding bay is the largest humpback whale breeding ground in the world. Walk in the Village of Las Terrenas: This small town, once an old fishing village, is full of Dominican culture and a lively hot bed of artesanic shopping, dominican restaurants and nightlife. Las Terrenas is emerging as the most popular destination on the Samaná Peninsula. Although the town features many shops and restaurants (you can find Supermarket, banks, drogstore, etc.); it is most well-known for its pristine cotton soft, white-sand beach. Restaurants and shopkeepers have made expert use of Playa Las Terrenas, with plenty of relaxing beachside dining and open-air shops most of them from European citizen’s.

Spacious, comfortable, well-equipped
The unit was lovely, and we appreciated Maura's cooking and shopping for us. Emma was extremely responsive and helpful. We loved our time spent at the beach and the nearby Mosquito Bar. I wouldn't exactly call it beachfront, however. While the beach was only a short walk from the unit, it was not on the beach, nor were there clear views of the ocean.
Palm-tree filled paradise
This property is spacious and well-appointed, and comfortably large enough to sleep the four of us in our group. Claudia the chef and caretaker was friendly and took good care of us and the home. We especially enjoyed fresh pineapple juice in the morning and fresh ceviche for lunch! There are plenty of activities available on the property grounds. Our kids had multiple pools to choose from, and we all enjoyed the access to the beach. It was especially fun to ride on the kayaks that were available for free from the property, and we even took advantage of foosball and table tennis in the recreation area. The shops and restaurants of Las Terrenas were easily accessible from this villa via a quick five minute ride, however we also note the other beaches in the area such as Playa Coson, Playa Moron, and Playa Bonita which are are short rides away as well, and especially beautiful. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a vacation in a palm-tree filled paradise.
Thank you for your Review, you always welcome.
peaceful and beautiful -- thank you Emma for a wonderful stay
Perfect villa for a getaway!!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beach villa.
Beautiful and relaxing
Our family of five - Mom, Dad and three kids, 21, 17 and 14 - spent a fantastic week at Emma's beautiful apartment in Los Balcones. The apartment is spacious and everything is very high-end. Ana, the woman who cleans and cooks, is a really nice person and a great cook. I could really get used to having that kind of help! The ability to speak at least some basic Spanish will be useful in this part of the D.R.
The property share two of most beautiful beaches of the DR North Coast: Las Terrenas and Portillo Beach.
