Glencraig is a contemporary house nestled in an acre of woodland garden, close to the River Nethy. It has 5 bedrooms, large kitchen/dining room, lounge, games room, 2 bathrooms, further WC and utility room/drying room. Both the kitchen and lounge have doors leading to the patio - perfect for BBQ s, watching the red squirrels and birds or sitting out in the evening warmed by the brazier. The games room, with its table tennis table, Sky TV, DVD player and plentiful games, toys and books for all ages will keep everyone occupied whatever the weather. The property sleeps 10 comfortably and there are a further 2 pull-out beds in the games room, if required, as well as a travel cot and high chair. Children will love exploring around the numerous trees, playing ball games on the grass, finding the home-made den and hiding in the little wooden play house. There are extensive walks and off-road cycle tracks right from the door and the village shop/butcher is only a 10min walk along the river

We are a family of four with 2 boys aged 9 and 13. We love mountain biking, skiing, hillwalking - any outdoor activities really! We live in Edinburgh but try to escape up to the house ourselves as often as we can.

Lovely woodland and riverside walks and off-road biking from the door. Totally peaceful and amazing starry skies. Heaps to do for all ages in the area. Great wee village shop and butcher.

What makes this house unique

We love the house because it's roomy but cosy at the same time. It's in such a peaceful location and the garden is really big with dozens of trees - perfect for kids exploring and building dens and watching the red squirrels. It's great to have the large play room with the TV and table tennis table separate from the quiet lounge! It's also our home from home so it has lots of extra touches, equipment, books, games etc

Glencraig is a superb house to spend a holiday in.

The rooms are welcoming, large and very comfortable.

Our party of 4 adults and 2 small children had a great weeks vacation in what is a beautiful and majestic part of Scotland. Nethybridge is a lovely picturesque little village with a great butchers (Mr Mustard) and a well stocked Spar. All the people we met with were delightful.

We cannot praise the house highly enough, it really was lovely to come back to after a day out. The children could happily play in the well stocked play room or watch tv there whilst we adults could enjoy relaxing and chatting in the lounge by the wood fire about the day we had just had.

We will definitely be back.

Lovely house, great location!

we stayed for half term week as a family of 2 adults and 4 kids from 13 down to 6. As we pulled up the first reaction was a wow from the kids, they quickly ran around the garden finding dens as we sorted keys. We entered the house and our expectations were exceeded. The photos do not show just how spacious and homely the house is. The kids were soon playing table tennis and as we unpacked we kept hearing squeals of delight as they discovered toys, games and most importantly for my sons the entire James Bond collection on DVD! The kit hen was the most well equipped I have found in a holiday home. Food processor, bread maker and coffee machine. I have t confess non of them were used but if you are heading up for Christmas it's nice to know what's there.

The lounge is lovely and we enjoyed having the log fire lit and listening to music on the iPod dock/cd player. The selection of books and guide material is abundant as well as maps etc. we were also impressed with how quickly the house warmed up even when temps were sub zero outside. In the area there is plenty to do, we managed some mountain biking and enjoyed some walking in the Cairngorms, especially fun in the snow! We also paid 80 for a 7 day pass to the leisure complex in the macdonald resort in Aviemore . This was great as the kids enjoyed swimming each day and there is also a gym and soft play area with attached cafe. This was great for the days when the weather was less good. There is also a cinema at the complex so a night watching skyfall kept everyone happy.

We would not hesitate to recommend this house and it is roomy enough to share with another family. We would love to stay again, hopefully in ski season.

The house was very spacious and filled with literally everything that we needed. Beautiful location, me and my friends had an amazing time. I would definitely like to stay there again. Great value for money as well!

A comfortable family friendly house and well equipped

A spacious family house. The children particularly loved the games room, whilst we could relax by the fire in the living room.

The beds were very comfortable. The power shower was amazing!

Fabulous family house

Everything thought of, very spacious, comfortable and cosy!!! Great location, with lots of great walks on the doorstep! Lots of wildlife in back garden, just put your nuts out!!!

Fine and well-equipped house

We stayed 11 persons in the house and the space around the dining table is a bit confined.

The electricity disappeared for a short while when cooking, but help was coming within 30 minutes.

Nice and clean, good beds and a nice garden with deers grasses.

We accept that while the dining table is very comfortable for 10 adults, it is a little bit of a squeeze for more than that and we will try to address that issue. Despite the rural location, we are extremely lucky to have very few power cuts so you were very unlucky to experience one - I’m glad it was restricted to 30 mins and that you enjoyed the garden and seeing the deer!

Nethy Bridge is a picturesque, peaceful village situated in the heart of the Caringorm National Park, along the Speyside Way - perfect for exploring the beautiful surrounding area, from the magnificent Cairngorm mountains to the quiet beaches of the Moray Coast. It is also the perfect base for a huge variety of outdoor activities, including hillwalking, golf, skiing, tennis, water sports, birdwatching and climbing. Nethy Bridge is a particularly good location for walking and mountain biking, with mile after mile of off-road trails and paths straight from the door through hundreds of acres of the Abernethy Pine Forest, linking to the Rothiemurchus Estate. It is a short drive to Aviemore, with its shops, pubs & restaurants, leisure centre, swimming pools and cinema - or you could take the quaint steam train which runs from Broomhill Station just outside Nethy Bridge, through Boat of Garten to Aviemore. Red deer and red squirrels are frequent visitors to the village, as are the famous ospreys to the nearby RSPB reserve at Loch Garten.
