Surrounded with a forest and in front of the lake our 350 year old Heidi chalet in the Swiss Alps is offering a unique experience of authentic vacation close to nature and to many interesting attractions that the tourist area is offering. From the 3000 meter high glacier where you can ski even in august to the famous Cailler chocolate factory just next to the impressive castle and medieval village of Gruyère.
We are offering a fully equipped authentic kitchen including special machine to enjoy a Raclette or a Fondue.
Amazing view, rooms for children with games, an ancient wood craft working table with special tools, a fire-stove and the experience of cutting some wood for it, but yet also wifi, DVDs and music.
The house is few minutes from the lake and the river and you can enjoy many treks all over the mountains. 2 parking spaces are waiting for you outside the door together with complete private road and no neighbours. In the village you can get anything you need.
living in the Swiss alps with our young family married to Ira and love traveling the world with all our children
Rockman Moriya & Ira purchased this chalet in 2004
It's an amazing isolated house in the middle of nature. A unique experience for everyone !
Isolated, on top of the mountain with amazing views over the Alps.
The location was spectacular and we had a great time exploring the local area. We were lucky and had superb weather and it was magnificent seeing a full moon rise between the Alps on the other side of the valley. I loved the house and so did my family. We absolutely loved the low doorways and cosy feeling. We tended to BBQ most nights.
We found the the pool you told us about in Chateau d'Oex, it was a great find and there were also some nice trails in and around that area near the pool.
Thanks so much again
Very well equipped old-style chalet in a wonderful quiet place up the mountain
The house was exactly as described, and felt like stepping back in time to the days of Heidi. It is a very old house in parts, with low ceilings tucked away on a mountain way above Rossiniere (car definitely needed unless you're up for the 30 min+ steep climb from town). Ira and Moriya were great hosts and very helpful.
Very unique place! Definitely old, definitely cosy and definitely in the mountains. Kids loved the low ceilings and quaintness...something out of a story book. Location is very good and provides easy access to activities in the valley. Best tip is to go to the local tourist office in Rossiniere and get the heads up on which mountains to take on. Definitely book in cheese factory tour in the mountains with Dominic...great day!
Thanks again for a great stay and all the best with the renovations, they look great!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Heidi Chalet. It was in a beautiful location with incredible views of the mountains and plenty of fantastic things to do nearby. The place itself was not for the faint- hearted, with very small rooms and low ceilings but the renovation should make it much better. This was by far the most peaceful, relaxing and happy place we have stayed so far and our bed was also incredibly comfortable.
Very relaxing experience in idyllic alpine environment. Moriya and her family made us feel really welcome - everything was well arranged, directions were clear, and of course the house is extremely charming and has a stunning view. The kids loved rolling in the grass, sleeping in the attic during the rainy nights, roasting marshmallows in the fireplace, watching the cows pass by on the way to their summer pastures, and the visit to the chocolate factory in Broc (again!). We almost miss the occasional encounter between our heads and the ceiling beams ;)
Rossiniere is a beautiful small village in the lovely Swiss Alps. There you can really feel and enjoy the special atmosphere of the mountains with only wooden Chalets including the world's biggest traditional Chalet of the famous painter Balthus. Sitting next to the lake and the Sarine River, only 20 minutes away from famous Gstaad and 50 minutes to lake Geneva and Montreux. The Heidi Chalet is located up on the hill, above the village, free from any neighbours.
