Surrounded with a forest and in front of the lake our 350 year old Heidi chalet in the Swiss Alps is offering a unique experience of authentic vacation close to nature and to many interesting attractions that the tourist area is offering. From the 3000 meter high glacier where you can ski even in august to the famous Cailler chocolate factory just next to the impressive castle and medieval village of Gruyère.
We are offering a fully equipped authentic kitchen including special machine to enjoy a Raclette or a Fondue.
Amazing view, rooms for children with games, an ancient wood craft working table with special tools, a fire-stove and the experience of cutting some wood for it, but yet also wifi, DVDs and music.
The house is few minutes from the lake and the river and you can enjoy many treks all over the mountains. 2 parking spaces are waiting for you outside the door together with complete private road and no neighbours. In the village you can get anything you need.
living in the Swiss alps with our young family married to Ira and love traveling the world with all our children
Rockman Moriya & Ira purchased this chalet in 2004
It's an amazing isolated house in the middle of nature. A unique experience for everyone !
Isolated, on top of the mountain with amazing views over the Alps.
The location was spectacular and we had a great time exploring the local area. We were lucky and had superb weather and it was magnificent seeing a full moon rise between the Alps on the other side of the valley. I loved the house and so did my family. We absolutely loved the low doorways and cosy feeling. We tended to BBQ most nights.
We found the the pool you told us about in Chateau d'Oex, it was a great find and there were also some nice trails in and around that area near the pool.
Thanks so much again
This was my second stay at the chalet; unfortunately it was just for three days due to other bookings but still enjoyed it none the less. I was met by Didi who showed me the new apartment which is looking great and was due for completion in a couple of weeks so as I'm writing this review it should now be complete.
The chalet is located on the side of a mountain overlooking one of the most beautiful settings one could wish for, it’s simply breathtaking. I am hoping to return yet again in late September of this year circumstances permitting which I think says it all.
Tanja & Stefanie
It was our second stay at the chalet, and everything went well. Both times were in spring, and so it was great to enjoy the surroundings, blooming flowers, amazing views over the mountains, and only a short walk/ride to all the amenities, shops and restaurants when needed.
Highly recommended, and we will be back again, hopefully.
"Chalet Heidi" is a solitary and well-maintained hut located 20 minutes walk above the village Rossiniere. It offers closeness to nature and a pleasant isolation from the nearby civilization replete with tourists, while still providing a good accessibility by car/public transport to the nearby interesting places like Gruyere, Chateau-d'Oex and Col des Mosses. The hut was remarkably well-equipped -- it contained all sorts of kitchen equipment, games, hi-fi, bath, fireplace, and stocks of food at our disposal. Ira was kind enough to bring us his guitar, too, so that we could have a warmer atmosphere in the evenings.
The hut is centuries old and the rooms have correspondingly low ceiling, which was sometimes rather iritating. Also, being 14 adults, we filled all the bedrooms to the limits. However, none of these worried us much. On one hand, the presence of two "living rooms" on the basement floor offered a lot of comfort for all our indoor activities, and secondly, we spend most of the day enjoying outdoor Alpine activities anyway. Splitted into smaller groups, we tried all: snow-shoe hiking, skiing, skialp, cross-country skiing, visiting the museum in Gruyere, witnessing the balloon festival in Chateau d'Oex and even bowling. The venerable age of the hut, its good condition, the separation from the village as well as almost half a meter of fresh snow gave the place an almost miraculous spark.
Ira and his wife Moriya were both very friendly and the communcation was smooth. Picking up the place was fast and without problems, and returning it at the end of our stay even more so. We will highly recommend this place to our friends.
The house is in a unique position and has fabulous views. It is very quiet and peaceful. During our stay over Christmas and New Year we were blessed by largely sunny weather. The house itself has everything needed and the stove in the 'snug' saw frequent use. It is a good example of a 'rustic' Swiss chalet. The house is 100% wood and therefore warms up fast. The family was on hand to welcome us on arrival (many thanks for the wine, cheese and cake!) and after that gave us the privacy that we greatly valued. We would like to return in a future summer season!
Rossiniere is a beautiful small village in the lovely Swiss Alps. There you can really feel and enjoy the special atmosphere of the mountains with only wooden Chalets including the world's biggest traditional Chalet of the famous painter Balthus. Sitting next to the lake and the Sarine River, only 20 minutes away from famous Gstaad and 50 minutes to lake Geneva and Montreux. The Heidi Chalet is located up on the hill, above the village, free from any neighbours.
