Go hiking, biking, sightseeing, whale watching, shopping and much more. Discover all that this unique area has to offer. Located in the heart of Downeast Maine, the lodge is located a half hour from Bangor Internat'l Airport.

Downstairs offers large rec room with pool table, fooze ball, pinball, darts, plus 2 more bedrooms, 2 more bathrooms and washer and dryer. Skylights, glass doors and lots of lake facing windows drench the lodge with natural light.

The main floor has over-sized kitchen, large open living/dining room, master bedroom with queen-sized bed and master bath with shower. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each have full size beds, and each have a separate sliding glass door onto a covered deck that overlooks the lake.

Enjoy the Four Seasons of Maine, at its BEST!: SPRING and SUMMER:

Wake to the call of the loons and drink your coffee on the deck just steps from the shores of Beech Hill Pond. Although it's name says 'Pond', Beech Hill is actually a beautiful, crystal clear 4 1/2 mile long, 1 mile wide spring-fed lake.

Enjoy the private dock and spend your days swimming, fishing, boating (canoe/kayak rentals can be delivered right to the cabin), or simply reading in the hammock. Gaze across the lake to the surrounding hills for breathtaking views.

The open deck and covered porch with hot tub provide guests options for sunbathing, star-gazing or enjoying a shady spot to enjoy the view.

There is a large, flat, sand area at the water's edge, great for relaxing in the sun or playing beach games. Picnic tables and chairs provide plenty of lakeside seating.

The fire pit at the water's edge is perfect for end of the day enjoyment...and firewood is provided!

Maine's warm fall days and cool, crisp nights are perfect for fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, sightseeing, and reveling in spectacular fall foliage. We are less than 30 miles from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, recognized as one of the best places in the country to view spectacular fall foliage!

Ice fishing, skating, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, kite-flying on the lake...are just a few of the activities to enjoy at 'Happy Days' Lodge!

Great for holidays, reunions, special celebrations...

Why not spend Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's at the perfect Maine get-away...

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Becky, We just wanted to let you know what a fabulous trip we had. Our grandchildren had the best time ever. They did not want to leave. The first cast off the dock hooked them fish and it got better from there! Kayaking swimming, pinball, fishing they didn't know what to do first. We sat by the campfire at night and just listened to the loons. It was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Happy Days Lodge was a great place for our family vacation this year. Our combined family of our children, grandchildren and a great grandchild had lots to do between swimming, fishing, water skiing/tubing, kayaking and touring the lake on a pontoon boat. In between they had lots of fun in the fantastic rec room downstairs and sitting around the campfire at night looking at the stars. The house was very comfortable, clean and the owner and manager were wonderful to work with. Thank you Becky and Dave for being so helpful and for replacing the grill when it quit on us. The lodge was a terrific place for a large family to vacation together. Becky - our great grandchild went swimming for the first time and sat in a kayak and had a wonderful time.

Relaxing family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week at Happy Days. There were 6 adults and 7 children. It was one of the most relaxing vacations with 7 kids under the age of 8. The home offered plenty of space inside and also for the kids to run around outside. We were able to splash in the lake, fish, kayak and play, all the while feeling like we were not disturbing anyone around us. We trekked into Acadia and Bar Harbor a couple days but found ourselves enjoying the house so much that we ended up spending more time there. We had kayaks delivered for the week at a very reasonable rate, by friends the owners recommended. By the end of the week my son, who loves the Outer Banks beaches more than anything, told me he wanted to come here every year instead. The house was perfect for our group and we are so thankful to the owners for all they provided for us to enjoy such a sweet week with our family.

Lovely, peaceful spot with loons.

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean (and I am really fussy). It accommodated our party of 10 very well. The kitchen was well supplied with tools and large enough for us to use. Beds were comfortable. The location was perfect for the kids. They could play in the lake, toast s'mores in the fire pit and run around the house. It was also close enough to Acadia that it was not a problem to go there every day. Ellsworth was convenient, and had several tasty restaurants to choose from and decent supermarkets. We had a great time.

Happy Days on Beech Hill Pond

  • 5 of 5

The house was immaculate, spacious and lots of bathrooms. The pond is crystal clear and the fishing was great (lots of small mouth bass). Good location for Kayaking, paddleboarding, and a power boat or jet ski. Large game room in the lower level along with a couple of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked for a large family. Saw an eagle along the shoreline, and loons too.Awesome place to visit Maine.

Best Vacation Yet!

  • 5 of 5

After a long travel day we were so excited to arrive at Happy Days Lodge. Everything was clean, aired out and ready for us to settle in for our long-awaited Maine vacation. Our seven kids swam, kayaked, fished and generally just enjoyed time together at the Lodge. Loved the loons and the float planes coming and going. We were even treated to fireworks one night across the lake :)After a cool swim the hot tub was so nice to warm up in. We especially loved the fact that the kitchen table was big enough to seat all of us and the two refrigerators came in handy to keep drinks cool. Easy access to Ellsworth and Acadia was great and yet we enjoyed being removed from the town life, too. A favorite was sitting around the camp fire each evening and just talking. It was also nice to have Wifi and Satellite TV to check the weather and post pictures. Loved the location and lodge! Thank you for providing such a great place for our family to relax at. We hope to come back again!

Clean and nice calm, peace and beauty

  • 5 of 5

Our family and friends spent 2 weeks (June 14th to June 28th 2015) at the Happy Day Lodge It was 15 of us so we also had to rent a nearby cottage (The Eagle Nest), but the lodge was the meeting point as soon as we woke up. There were enough of everything (plates, glasses etc.) for our large group. The place was clean, the description on the net accurate .

We all enjoyed swimming, fishing and kayaking on the lake, roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. On rainy days (only 2 of them) we enjoyed the recreation room and the hot tub. We visited the Acadia national park and surroundings and were always happy to return to the beauty and calm of Beech Hill Pond. At the beginning of our search for a rental we wanted to be nearer to Acadia Park but it was difficult to find such a large house at this price. Finally I am glad we came at beech Hill pond. We could walk miles without seeing a car. It is far from the hassle of tourists crowds but near enough from stores and activities.. We will keep happy memories of this holiday and highly recommend the Happy Day Lodge.

Car: necessary

This lakeside lodge is 'away from it all', but is only 15 minutes from shopping in Ellsworth and less than 30 miles from Acadia National Park and beautiful Bar Harbor. In the fall, enjoy Maine's spectacular foliage.
