Wonderful family holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is was our 6th holiday to Tuscany - but this is the first time we have thought to write a review.

This is without doubt, the best villa we have had over the years. clean, bright, spacious. Te owners/ hosts very helpful. And after handing over the keys, left us to look after ourselves and enjoy our privacy.

Everything in the villa was perfect. The bedrooms bright and cheery, the ensuite bathrooms very clean and lots of amenities provided for our use, the kitchen had everything we needed and the sitting room and dining area very comfortable.

The most enjoyable start to each day was waking up, pulling back the curtains and seeing the amazing views. Besides that, the gardens, and the huge pool - thoughtfully placed to gain the best views and setting, made the whole holiday so very enjoyable.

We are not an energetic family and tend not to venture off every day, however, we found the location great to visit a few of the hill towns (pienza, Siena, Montepulcaino) , some lovely vineyards and a wonderful truffle hunt followed by a cooking lesson and, a few local fairs.

Most of our time though was spent enjoying the villa and we are certain that we shall return.

SImply a wonderful villa in Toscana, Good Location

  • 5 of 5

A feeling of complete satisfaction - from the time we first booked to the sad day we left to come home.

Our two families really had great time here. Lots of space for us all to enjoy and many quiet areas too.

The villa has (just) been restored and has some wonderful views of this valley which we know well enough from earlier visits here. THe bedrooms are very comfortable, the bathrooms very clean and bright, the family area and kitchen - luxurious. But the outside is where we spent most of our time.

The gardens were also being restored, good colours and scents along with nice grass area. the pool is REALLY lovely with wrap around views of the valley and surrounding hills.

The owner and his (English speaking) agent were very friendly, helpful and genuine. We had many excursions (2 arranged by them in advance of our arriving here - one cooking class and a tour of a Chianti vineyard). Our favourite towns - Cortona of course, but anywhere you point the car, you will not be disappointed.

We hope to return another year to the valley of Chio, this time without the need for research, the place is perfect.

A pice of Tuscan Magic

  • 5 of 5

This was a great find and we thoroughly enjoyed our ten night stay. We were a little concerned at first, reading the villa was newly renovated, we thought we would find builders in the pool ! In fact, they had a few landscapers planting rosemary and lavender and that was that.

We had the ground floor apartment and, it met our needs totally. Having been to this area on three occasions, we appreciated the 'freshness' of the lines. the clean comfortable rooms, the attention to the detail both inside and out.

The views over the valley were fascinating and seemed to change as the day progressed. The pool was an oasis for us 5 and to eat outside and enjoy the warm summer evening was a real pleasure.

The property too was convenient for travels. We managed quite a bit including Pienza, Cortona and a drive through parts of the Chianti. The first weekend too was the antiques fair in Arezzo, a fun day out. We also managed Florence - but by train from the station in Fiorenitno - it took us an hour and we were in the center of Florence.

The owner was also very thoughtful. Lots of help at the outset and as he said - "Always available if you need me- just send me a text" We never did, but it was reassuring to know someone was there for us.

A lovely holiday and somewhere we shall return to without doubt.
