My dad bought 20 acres at the cut in '64. My wife and I retired here in '05 to build our own little paradise. We'd planned to build a big house, but it would have taken too long to get power to the place we wanted to put it, so we built this little cottage to live in 'til then. We loved the simpler life in the cottage so much that we decided not to build the big house after all. Since then we've sold a few lots where our new friends have built their dream houses, but we've kept most of the land, so our cottage is still very private.
Dave purchased this Cottage in 1964
Why Dave chose Forbes Hill
Our land is on a small peninsula, so our privacy is guaranteed.

A Tranquil Delight
Our stay at The Prime Cut was the epitome of relaxation and beauty. We enjoyed taking in the great views and ocean sounds while relaxing on the front porch, and daily visits from humminbirds and geckos. The color of the water was breathtaking, and we saw schools of fish while snorkeling in the calm clear water. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare meals and live comfortably. We had lunch in Georgetown one time, but all other meals were prepared at the house (many restaurants were closed over the Easter holiday weekend). Make sure to stock up on groceries in town, especially if visiting over a holiday.
The locals were very friendly. Highly recommend a visit to Little Exuma!

If you want to experience the Bahamas in all aspects, this is the place for you. It's a cute cottage nestled in native vegetation. You'll be surrounded by views of the ocean from the deck while you listen to the waves, watch the birds, and breathe fresh air. A short walk to the beach will have you dodging geckos as you admire the variety of plants and flowers. When you get to the beach, it's truly breathtaking. Quiet and secluded, this place is a retreat.
Be sure to follow the homeowner's advice once you book this place - they want your experience to be amazing. Rent a car, order the groceries in advance, pack your bug spray, book an excursion, eat at the recommended restaurants. Take advantage of all the culture that you can!
Thank you Catherine for your wonderful review. We work hard to make our guest's Bahamian experience something special, and it's very nice to hear that our efforts have been rewarded.
Thank you also for leaving our home in great condition.
Perfect spot to get away from it all and just relax!
We truly enjoyed our vacation at Prime Cut! The privacy allowed us to relax with spectacular views all around us. We loved the peace and quiet. If you are looking for a spot to get away, this is it! We were lucky enough to meet the owners in person and pick their brains about the island. The cottage was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. We will definitely return.
Thank you for your review. You were wonderful guests, and you left our home spotless and neat. You are welcome back any time.
Excellent Value in Exuma
As described...just take a minute and read the reviews! No, the house isn't "on the beach", but just a VERY short walk to some of the prettiest views you'll ever take in. Not to mention the privacy! House isn't the newest or fanciest in the Bahamas, but you're not being charged for the fanciest or newest either. We found it quite adequate for our needs. Very clean. Everything works. Comfortable furniture. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
I first visited Little Exuma in 1961, and I loved the island and its people from the start. A lot has changed since then. We now have paved roads, phones and power, and much more, but the people are just as friendly as ever. We retired to this cottage in 2005, and now we're sharing it with you whenever we're "off island."
