Perfect for large families
About Bill Roth
We are brothers Ben and Bill. We are life long residents of Fairbanks and love living in the interior of Alaska. We strive to help our guest experience some of the many thing that Fairbanks and the interior have to offer.
Bill Roth purchased this House in 2015
Why Bill Roth chose Fairbanks
The Nottingham property is unique in the fact that it is so close to town, yet no other houses are visible from the Nottingham property. It is a peaceful, quiet, and private setting.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
This was the best rental I have stayed in. It was immaculate and well stocked with towels, laundry soap, kitchen soap etc. It was very spacious with the 2 levels. Even with 13 people we never felt crowded. Bill was anticipating our arrival and ensured we made it safely on the first night. The rental was the icing on the cake for our fabulous Alaskan adventure!
AK Business Trip
We had 6 in our group for a business trip. The owner worked with us very well, the home is equipped well and very clean! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The owner is one of the most accommodating individuals I have met using VRBO!
I Pamela didn’t talk to property owner
The property was lovely had a great time
Great Retreat Home
It was great to create a retreat at the house. There was plenty of space for our meeting, and sleeping space. The kitchen was large enough to spread out our meals/food supplies. Our guests were comfortable and had enough space to spread out. It was nice to go out on the deck and get some fresh air or eat outside. There was plenty of parking space. We loved the view, being in the hills and being close to nature. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to requests. Enaa baasee' (Thank you) for a great experience.
Great place to stay!
Bill’s house is clean and location is great. Bill is also very helpful and easy to communicate with. Will definitely come back next time!
Great Space, Great Location, Great Host
Our 14-member travel group had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Nottingham House!
The house itself looks exactly like the posted photos - the photos may actually understate the warmth and coziness of the space. It was a wonderful space to relax, connect, and create memories. Also, the location is very convenient to restaurants, area museums, downtown Fairbanks and the airport.
Bill, the property owner, played a huge role in the success of our visit. He was extremely helpful and responsive during our stay and in the months prior to our arrival. He was clearly committed to the success of our trip and went above and beyond to demonstrate that commitment! Our group travels internationally and has been in existence for 10 years, so take our word when we tell you Bill offered an exceptional level of care!
A few things to keep in mind to maximize your experience, most relevant if you rent both the upper and lower units:
- You have to go outside to travel between the upper and lower portions so, in the winter, you have to put on a coat and snow-worthy shoes to travel between units.
- If your group includes people with limited mobility, they will need to be in the upper unit as the lower unit requires a walk down steps and a small hill.
- The house is truly very spacious with lots of sleeping surfaces so, both units combined, you could comfortably house 17 people without using any special supplements like an air mattress or sleeping bag. The pullouts are quite comfy.
- We agree with other reviews that say the top unit is the right space for the central "meeting space" for a group using both units. Remember to open the windows while cooking because the stove in the upper unit doesnt have a fan or range hood so we spent a day smelling like bacon. A yummy smell but not ideal for a museum visit. Lol.
In summary, we highly recommend the Nottingham house and would surely stay there if we return to Fairbanks!
The Nottingham house is in the hills, which in the winter often means 10 to 15 degrees warmer temperatures than in town or North Pole. Southern exposure means above ice fog and smoke and in the sunshine. Very secluded yet located very close to many attractions
