New Brunswick Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, sleeps 4, plus pull out couch , compl bathroom plus washer/dryer

'Brightwater Cottage' is a 2 bedroom retreat with privacy, quiet and an exhilarating ocean view. There is room for children to play freely in the pasture below, where they can visit our pair of ducks in their woodland pond. (6-8 inches deep) Hosts Kathi and Jim are both artists and their work is displayed at their shop at the harbor wharf,'Salty Dog Arts'. Kathi operates an organic market garden where guests can shop for the freshest in vegetables and berries, eggs from free range hens, and the most delicious jams and jellies. The footpath to the quiet unmarked beach is a 1 km drive or walk to the dead end of the lane. At low tide there is a wide expanse of sand and lots of room for kids to run and play.

Brightwater is a half-hour drive from the St John airport and 5 minutes out of the Village of St Martins. In the village are twin covered bridges spanning an active fishing harbor, lighthouses, famous sea caves, a shipbuilding museum, sea kayaking and great seafood, family and fine dining, and a busy sunday afternoon Farmer's Market. The nearby Fundy Trail offers world-class hiking/biking along the coastline where you'll witness the ebb and flow of the world's highest tides.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What an enchanting pieceof our beautiful blue-green planet. The white caps of the bay,the sounds of the ocean, the beautiful night sky, the view from the suspension bridge on the Fundy Trail and the hump back whales from our catamaran in St Andrews. The exquisite cuisine at the Weslan Inn and the warm hospitality of the village all made the stay in this lovely cottage a welcome respite. 100,000 thank yous!

Kathy & Jim,

this is a very belayed comment, but it shows, that after 2 years, the two of you and your wonderful cottage are still in our heart. We had a wonderful, most memorable time. The cottage is very comfy and we had all (and more) we needed. We loved your home grown corn and the lobster we bought along the road side. (Thank you for loaning us the big pot).

We can see by your bookings that your cottage (and the two of you) are a success, and rightfully so! We will be back, for sure! Stay well!

Sunny, spacious, quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

We are repeat visitors to Seasong, and this year we were delighted to enjoy the newly renovated space. The panoramic view of the Bay of Fundy from the comfortable great room is amazing. We enjoyed coffee on the covered deck while watching the sun rise over the water. The spacious kitchen is well equipped and stocked with all the basics. The newly added half bath is great for company or families with children. The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to all the services you might need. This is a nature lover's paradise: great for hikers, bikers, beachcombers, star gazers, and bird watchers, or for those who just want to relax and get away from it all. The fabulous Fundy Trail is a twenty minute drive away. One of the best and quietest beaches on the east coast can be reached in two minutes by car, or with a pleasant fifteen minute walk. We will be booking again for next year.

Great Mini-Farm in an amazing area of the country

  • 4 of 5

My family (husband, 2 yr & 5 yr) visited this June. The cottage was cozy although the furnishings are old and outdated. There were toys and games for the kids. Despite, everything we needed for a great getaway was there and working just fine. The mini-farm totally makes up for the outdated furnishing in the cottage. The horses were so cute and the kids enjoyed feeding them and watching them each day. The fence boundary was just in front of the cottage so I could sit on the front porch watching the kids run around with Wren (farm dog) and enjoy the horses. Kathy was very accommodating and we enjoyed the fresh garden greens and kale from her garden. She is an amazing painter & I purchased several of her prints. The front view (over the farm) is of the ocean but you cannot see the beach, just the water. Still beautiful. There had been much rain when we arrived for our 3 night stay so we couldn't walk the paths to the beach. I ran to the lighthouse which was a great run and amazing view. My husband ran the path to the lake up at the top of the hill near the ocean and said it was a completely stunning vista with lake and ocean. We spent time around the farm, in St Martins enjoying the chowder and fish at Sea Caves, visiting the beaches and sea caves, eating amazing texmex at Fiori's, and the Fundy Trail (a must see), etc. Thanks again Kathy.

Fantastic Cottage with amazing view

  • 5 of 5

My wife and my 1 1/2 year old son took our first real family vacation here. We had a fantastic time! The cottage was perfect for what were looking for plus it had with a fantastic view. The horses and chickens were a huge hit with my son. The owners were fantastic hosts that made sure we had everything we needed and that we felt at home.

St Martins is a wonderful small village. It was a good base to go out and explore some of the surrounding areas. We took day trips to Montcon, St Johns,

Slice of Heaven

  • 4 of 5

This is an absolutley wonderful place to stay!!! Either with small children...or just for a very PRIVATE romatic escape. The cottage is so very charming, clean and a very nice size. Just a short walk/or bike(as we did) to the shorelline-so breathtaking and fun to explore the rocks with the kids.(Don't forget your kite and buckets for your seashells!) The small town of St Martins has so much beauty, with the fishing boats and rugged shoreline. (Also the Fundy National Park/Trail nearby). The owners are lovely and talented local artist. We even happily bought several paintings...and the miniture horses were an added bonus with the kids. I would defintely reccomend this a cottage of choice and definelty will be back!.

Peace and quiet and a gentle pace of life near a small fishing village make our guests want to stay and stay...We are halfway along the Bay of Fundy with attractions in both directions such as whale watching and exploring the Hopewell Rocks, making for excellent day trips from the cottage. Fish off the village wharf any time or cast for mackerel from the beach in July, Rent a sea kayak for a coastal adventure along the sandstone cliffs. Explore our wonderful and varied beaches and sea caves. And don't miss the worlds best seafood chowder!

Other Activities: sea kayaking, beachcombing, hiking, see the youtube video'Fundy Footpath', for scenes from the nearby Fundy Trail Parkway.
