This 6 bedroom 4 bath home overlooks a meadow full of trees and wildlife, and is surrounded by forest land. Your family and or friends will enjoy the miles of state forest trails outside the back door for summer biking & walks and cross country skiing during the winter. You can access the trails from the home and go for miles. All the roads in the neighborhood dead end at trail heads. North National Park is walking distance to the house and offers Frisbee golf, ball fields, snowmobile rentals and much more. The Lake at Kings Beach is 2.5 miles away and has boat and kayak rentals. Shopping and restaurants 2.5 miles away, casinos 3 miles away that will satisfy your thirst for nightlife. Crystal Bay Club is known for their music venues, and Cal Neva for their spa services. There is an abundance of restaurants and shops scattered up and down Kings Beach that will cater to your daytime or evening dining fancies.

In the wintertime… you are in the middle of the North Shore with easy access to all the ski resorts. The house is 4 miles to the entrance of Northstar which offers a great all-around skiing mountain. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are minutes away with a short cut that eliminates dealing with traffic in Tahoe City. Diamond Peak and MT Rose are 20 min away and offers less expensive skiing with specials and family pricing. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing are literally out the back door…and for those adventure enthusiasts, there is a multitude of snowmobiling rentals as close at 2 miles from the house.

For those who just want to decompress, this home is the perfect antidote. The house is designed for comfort, and with over 3100 sq ft of living space, you have ample room for large families or groups of friends to spread out.

As you walk in the front door, you are greeted by 22 ft cathedral ceilings, and a large open long living area. To one side is the kitchen the opens into the dining area. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities for cooking and has a countertop with 3 bar stools. There is lots of counter space and cupboards for your items. The dining room has large mission style table that could seat 12 and overlooks the views off the patio. A slider opens up to the deck with hot tub, BBQ, patio furniture, and panoramic views. The views overlook the meadow and tree lined mountains. You can sit here for hours taking in the sights and smells of the pine trees. The views from the hot tub really adds to the enjoyment of soaking. In the living area is large leather sectional sofa which faces a river rock hearth country stove fireplace, and 50 Smart HD TV. You can sit on the couch, watch TV and wildlife at the same time. The room is lined with windows to take full advantage of the views. Scattered pillows and throws will make you feel at home. Next to the sectional is a full bathroom, pool table and another slider that exits to the hot tub. The kids love the pool table which is located at the other end of the dining area. Adults can socialize at the table, and kids can play pool without bothering each other. Summer or winter, morning or evening, you'll enjoy the peace and solitude from any part of the house.

Off the living area is the Master Bedroom. This room is HUGE. It has the high A frame ceilings and feels like a separate cabin. Besides feeling like you're in a separate cabin, it is quiet and private from the living area. This is a great spot for kids or infants napping yet being close to your activities. There is plenty of room for the King bed, 2 twins, trundle bed, TV, and large bathroom with closet and changing area. The bathroom is also set up with rails and bars for the elders who may need a little help. There is also a private deck for sunning in the morning.

Down the stairs is large laundry room with washer/dryer and exit which can be used as a mud room in wintertime. There are 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on this level. 2 King rooms with views to the forest and haveTV's, 1 King bedroom with childs bed, 1 queen room with TV1 LARGE King room with 2 twin beds and TV/DVD,. Teenagers/kids love this room because of the size and its at another end of the house to make noise and watch their favorite movies. There is extra floor space here for sleeping bags. Because Lake Tahoe's motto is just 'play hard' extra attention has been given to a great bed and a good nights sleep. All the bedding is Hotel Style with memory foam mattress pad, luxury 300 count sheets, 4 down or down alternative pillows, duvet, and bed throw. You'll feel like you're in an upscale hotel.

The open areas and high ceilings enhance the areas to socialize with family or friends, without feeling closed in. The different rooms in the house will allow your group to be together or separate.

There are all the amenities of home and more. Coffee service is provided for your first morning here. The furnishings are user friendly with plenty of seating in the living area and patio. Large, wooden beams, triangle shaped windows, and mountain decor throughout the house compliment the 'Tahoe' feeling. The location and amenities of this home makes this a great vacation home year-round.

Booking online is convenient but may not answer all your questions on the house and/or surrounding area. Feel free to call me 858-229-6608.

About Alpine Ventures

I care about my Tenants.

Alpine Ventures purchased this house in 1994

Why Alpine Ventures chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

This is a great house in a great neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

I love where the house is on the Lake. You are right in the middle of the North Shore, with easy access to all of Lake Tahoe. The Lake is 3 miles, casinos, 3.5, Northstar 4, Reno 35 minutes, and South Shore is 40 and FUN to go to in the summertime. Skiing is everywhere. I ski at Alpine and Squaw and to drive there from the house, I go the back way and eliminate all the traffic in Tahoe City. I can get there in 20 min's., and is an easy drive.

The restaurants and shops on the lake speak for themselves. But...Northstar is my new hangout! The Village is beautiful!

There is a big ice-skating rink surrounded by bars, tiki torches and outdoor couches with fire pits. Around this are shops and restaurants and then the ski lifts. It reminds be of Vail. In the summertime the ice becomes roller skating with the same ambiance.

You can't beat the neighborhood here. Walking the trails is a twice daily event. There are maintained by the forest service and easy to follow. You can walk to Agate bay, or even Tahoe City if so inclined. Because the area is just up from the Lake, most of the trails have panoramic views of the Lake.

The house is super comfortable and I love walking out the back door and being in the meadow with tall pines. The smell of the forest permeates the house and its quiet, peaceful, and visually soothing.

Superb!! Beautiful place for ski vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect landing spot for our vacation.Everything about it was spectacular. Location to slopes, beautiful views, and very spacious for our group of 6 couples. Well appointed. Beds very comfortable and family room a big plus for a group our size. The size of the house providing a great mix of common areas large enough to fit us all and private areas when everyone wanted quiet/down time.

We ate around the large dining room table and enjoyed sweet fellowship. The kitchen was very well-stocked, providing everything we needed to make a variety of different meals. The furnishings were nice and comfortable, the house was clean.

Hot tub a treat for after skiing - views to die for. We had zero complaints - everything was perfect!

We certainly will come back and enjoy this most special house in Lake Tahoe

COZY HOME

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Timber Haus. It was smaller than we visualized, but cozy. Large enough for all 15 of us! Fully equipped with everything you need in a kitchen. Bathroom and laundry supplies were enough to get us through the first couple of days. The neighbors were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful when needing help attaching chains to the tires on our rental van. We are looking forward to our next stay. Mahalo!

Nice place but....

  • 4 of 5

Just returned from ski trip March 2017. Was satisfied with accommodation for a party of 10 adults. However some of the pictures are not accurate. For instance the pictures of the hot tub apparently show room for 6-8 people this is not the case can only seat 4 max. Also there were no bar stools at the kitchen counter as shown in the pictures. Not anyone's fault but cell service was spotty as was the internet. I would consider stayin again.

Owner's Response: The guest made a mistake in his review. Here is the email he sent after submitting it: "Hi Sandy I guess I have to apologize for the issue on the Bar stools. I took a poll of most of the guests with us and they didn't recall them being there. However I guess they were. I am very sorry, can I write an addendum to my review? " Once a review is submitted it can't be changed or added to. There were and are 3 bar stools at the counter. The hot tub is 7 foot by 7 foot surrounded by seats. The amount of people it will fit depends on the size of the people in it.

Great location and Nice Property

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean, well-maintained and as described on the HomeAway site. The location was great, as it was close to shopping, several towns (King's Beach, Tahoe City, and various Nevadan cities where casinos were available), offering entertainments and choices for everyone.

This house is in the middle of the Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from the highway, getting around the Tahoe Basin is effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking and you'll enjoy the different little towns that surround the Lake. . The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up from the Lake at Kings Beach. All the homes here sit on a meadow with tall pine trees, and the roads dead end at the hiking trails. Winter and summer they are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is worth hiking too. You can walk in the summertime to our neighborhood park, North National Park. The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a nice sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. Within 20 min to all the ski resorts on the North Shore, Northstar in the closest and newest village. The village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are always there. Its a wonderful setting to hang out at especially at night. Skiing here is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If your staying a week, I highly recommend taking advantage of the other resorts also. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches, and views you have to experience to appreciate. There are also smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those that just want a good time. One of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime it becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers another nice city with shops, restaurants and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting, and bike baths to view all. A nice day is renting your bike in Tahoe City and riding to River Ranch. This is a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying their menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family or friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
