The house was perfect for our niece’s weekend winter wedding! Location was great and convenient!!

The house was well suited for our needs. We were in town in the winter for a family wedding. The size and layout were perfect. Location was great! Bed and room arrangements worked out good. Coffee or tea in every bedroom was so convenient. My only criticism which really isn’t one. I didn’t know what to do with the recycling so I just but th m in a plastic bag and left on kitchen counter. We will revisit this property, thank you so much.

Just gorgeous! Like a luxury resort!

This home is beautiful with a fire pit, a grill, outdoor dining and my personal favorite, a clawfoot tub. They had games and puzzles and cozy blankets in the living room. Lake Michigan is just a short walk. We had an amazing vacation and didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back!

A Classic and Elegant Nautical Home on the Lake

Be still my heart.... This home (yes I am calling it home, not an house) has captured my heart. This gorgeous nautical home is established in a very classy downtown neighborhood. I happened to come during the fall where all the gorgeous leaves were turning colors (green, blue, orange, red-- you name it) and black squirrels were running around and red foxes were taking their daily stroll on the lake.

The house is a timeless, classic, beautiful and quinestical home where I was able to relax with dear friends of mine.

The interior of the home is equally as majestic as the exterior. I felt like I stepped into a bed and breakfast Inn. All the amenities were provided and clean and pristine.

The kitchen begged me to cook and the bathroom has an elegant clawfoot bathtub which I took several baths in while looking outside at the ever-changing trees.

The bedrooms were gorgeous and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in ! There is enough to fit ten people easily. The house has such an open atmosphere that you do not want to leave because it seems like the outside is brought inside and vice versa.

We were within walking distance to down town and the flurry of quaint boutiques that had lovely and sweet items!!

The restaurants are delicious and i have not had one bad meal there! The lake is about 900 yards away from the home.

You can go on morning, afternoon and/or evening walks in the neighborhood and see all the other beautiful homes while venturing the lake.

I have seen a place where my heart wants to be. Hopefully someday I will be able to own a home.. But in the meantime- this house is my home.

The description in the VRBO about this house does no justice. You have to see the home to feel and love to be there.

The house was pristine and clean to a point that you want to keep it clean and beautiful in its own glory.

The owner /manager is the most amazing person to work with . She is very sweet, thoughtful, kind and just all around magnificent. She wanted to make sure that the whole experience met our expectations (she exceeded at that ;) ). I would most definitely recommend this to a friend or relative - but at the same time a selfish part of me does not want to because this is a special home....

There is so much to do, pumpkin farms, wineries, eating lovely white fish while drinking champagne, and sitting in sweet little coffeeshops.

The next time we come here we PLAN on going on hikes, visiting the Lavender farms and many many more!!

Very nice place for a relaxing vacation with the family.

Lots of good things here, so let me discuss the key points:

1. Terrific location. It's as easy to walk to the grocery store and restaurants as drive, and given the great weather there, we walked. Not only are you close to all the stuff, it's also a perfect place to rent if you want to rent a boat, as you can either rent a slip or just dock in the Shopper's Docks that are 1/10 of a mile from the unit. You can head out to the water, return to the docks and take a break, or just launch from there. It's really ideal. The beach on Lake Michigan is also walkable, and although we spent more time at another beach, it's really useful for an easy stroll in the evening.

2. The unit itself is decorated very nicely (very warm feel) and has been well maintained. It's very clean, and the only real update it could use is a new laundry unit, as the existing one has a bit of wear. An external vent in the kitchen would also be good, but that's a nit, as the kitchen was extremely nice overall (and there is a sliding screen door adjoining the kitchen, so you can air the kitchen out when cooking as needed). Plenty of table space for meals, a very comfortable living room for just hanging out, and the bedrooms are more than enough to comfortably sleep 4 adults and 2 kids. You can throw 2 more kids into the mix if needed (2 bunk beds in the kids room), although I think the bathroom space would become a bit more challenging then (1 bath serves 2 bedrooms upstairs along with the master which comes with its own bathroom). It's really good for 6 but could handle 8 if you're patient. The beds were comfortable as well.

3. The fire pit in the back is terrific. Only minor nit there is it'd be nice to have a bit more privacy from the two adjoining houses, but the owners have smartly planted some shrubs that will aid that effort in due course.

4. I think this would also be an excellent property for a ski weekend over at Boyne Highlands, although I didn't really scope out where one would store skis inside (the unit is roomy so I don't think it'd be an issue). We like to be able to cook at night after skiing and hang out with friends and family, and this seems like a great property for a relaxing evening.

Bottom line: if you're looking for a nice house where you can cook meals, hang out, and also enjoy all that Charlevoix has to offer, including all the water activities, this is a great choice. We would definitely consider going back.

Ideal location! Nautical Charm! Super Clean!

This amazing cottage is on a quiet street just a short walk from town and Lake Michigan's shoreline. It was the perfect spot for our "Girls Getaway" in July. The cottage was found clean and well cared for. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The beds were extremely comfortable and the high-quality linens were very much appreciated, as were the bedroom placed Keurig machines. The interior of the cottage was furnished with a nautical charm that was uncluttered and welcoming. We felt comfortably at home. This is the perfect cottage for individuals, couples, and families to relax together and enjoy the natural beauty and charm of Charlevoix.

Beautiful property in amazing location!

We had a fabulous time in Charlevoix, and the Anchorage was the perfect getaway house. Tony and his family have done such an incredible job on the renovation of this house; no detail hasn't been thought of, the rooms are beautiful, functional and make lake life so relaxing. We can't wait to come back, and we are so appreciative to Tony for being so wonderfully accommodating!
