Note to the Cleaning Fee : The $150.00 Cleaning Fee is for a one time only cleaning in that the unit will be clean upon your arrival. Moreover, we do not provide daily room cleaning although we can provide interested parties with our housekeeper's contact information if they wish to arrange something with her on the side. The Cleaning Fee does provide for towels and linens which include freshly laundered beach, bath, and hand towels as well as wash clothes and bed sheets. A small starter kit of cleaning supplies is also provided which includes a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish washing detergent, as well as shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and make-up removing towelettes. It is the responsibility of the guests though to purchase more of these items if they wish them during their stay.
We had an amazing vacation on Maui! This was our first time on Maui and would love to return. I would definitely stay here again, it was perfect for our family. The condo looks like it was recently renovated with high end finishings. My two daughters, ages 10 and 13, slept on the pull out in the living room and were quite comfortable. The condo and grounds were clean and well maintained. The condo supplied large beach towels as well as beach chairs and snorkelling equipment which we used everyday. The cooler was great to have. We packed drinks and lunch and headed to the beach or out on an adventure everyday.
We loved that the upper pool and hot tub were right across from our condo. The shrubs around the pool provided privacy for our lanai and probably helped block any noise from the pool as we didn't find it noisy at all. It was also so convenient to walk to Napili Bay for an afternoon at the beach. Kapalua Beach was also a favorite. You can walk to this one from the condo but we usually drove since we had all the beach gear to bring. The snorkelling at these two bays was good, saw turtles at both and lots of fish but the best snorkelling was at Olowalu (mile marker 14) south of Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop which is a great place to stop for a meal and wonderful pie!
Randy was great, he responded to my emails quickly, usually the same day if not the next and answered all of my questions.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
This was our first stay at Napili Shores and it was amazing! Randy replied promptly to all or our emails and requests when booking the unit and provided us with some helpful information and maps before our trip. The unit itself has been completely renovated recently and was a real delight to spend our holiday in. The lanai is just across from the pool (but separated with some low shrubs) so was very convenient for our 4 year old every time he needed to hit the pool. The location is unbeatable for the north end of Maui. We will stay here again without hesitation.
I've stayed in Napili twice before and have enjoyed Napili Shores. It's a great family property and the location and proximity to the water is fantastic. This was the first time staying in this particular unit and unfortunately my husband and I had to leave mid stay as the smell from the couch was so bad. My son was going to stay on the pull out sofa so I went to move the cushions around and my hands reeked of mildew just from touching them. I bought a bottle of Febreeze, covered the couch with a sheet, but still the smell came through. Upon our return I reread the old reviews and it looks like this couch had the same problem in the past. It was recovered but not replaced and it looks like the same smell has come through again. We alerted the owners who were very nice but only gave us a $200 refund for the 5 nights that were unusable for sleeping on the couch. We wound up paying for another place up the road which turned into a very expensive vacation for us paying for two places. The ocean view pictured on the page is probably lovely but unfortunately for us the trees grow in during the summer so we could only see the ocean on tip toe.
We have stayed at Napili Shores many times in the past always booking thru Outrigger directly, this was the first time booking directly with an owner and I have to say I did have initial concerns. We emailed Randy and talked to him directly and he was always very prompt in responding and answering all of our questions.
It almost felt like the price for this unit was to good to be true, less than half of booking directly thru Outrigger or the Shores itself but I have to say everything about it is as represented. It was across from the pool but it wasn't noisy at all. The unit was nicely decorated and it had an air conditioner, which we've never had staying at this property, so that was a welcome addition. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any condo we have ever stayed at, with more dishes, pots, pans, knives, serving bowls than we ever needed. You name it they had it! Two very nice beach chairs and boogie boards for us to use as well. My husband and I had the bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable. My son slept on the sofa bed and he said that was also very comfortable. The location was great being close to the pool and bbq's, which we used frequently. It also felt very private since there was very little foot traffic. We LOVED this unit and hope to return many, many times!!!
We would recommend snorkeling at both Napili Bay and next door in the bay by Napili Point. We did both and swam with the turtles at both locations. The bay by Napili Point is like being in a fish bowl with all the coral, fish and turtles but it is a little more difficult to access as you have to climb in and over rocks. Napili Bay has easy access from the beach and if you swim out you can follow the reef from one end of the bay to the other, also lots of turtles. Parasailing was great and we booked thru the Expedia travel desk at the resort, best prices in town. Eat at the Gazebo at least once, they come from near and far to eat there. Everything is great but they are known for their pancakes. Also if you have a chance to get to Paia eat at Mama's Fish House, pricey but fantastic!! We also ate at Lahina Grill. If you're a foodie you'll love it.
Thank you Randy and Barbara for sharing your wonderful condo with us. We hope to be back many times in the future. A hui hou......
We stayed at Napili Shores after hearing very nice things about the beach. The beach was great, although the winter waves were not suitable for young children.
The condo was as described, although the couch inside the unit was very smelly. The upper pool outside the unit was nice, although children under 12 are not allowed in the hot tub. This rule was strictly enforced by the numerous old ladies who seemed to patrol the pool. The other downside was the back wall, which backed on to the parking lot(bedroom wall) was not insulated properly for sound. You could hear the cars coming and going, especially early in the morning when people were coming to the restaurant.
If I was going to stay at Napili again, I would book into a unit facing south to get the sun, and into one that had been renovated. I would recommend staying in this unit if the couch was replaced.
My husband and I as well as our 12-year old daughter spent two weeks in this unit in July 2008.
The unit is very clean and very nicely maintained, providing everything you'll need during your stay (beach towels, linens, completely stocked kitchen), etc. The unit is located directly across from the larger pool and spa which makes it really nice to come and go throughout the day... and is especially nice in the evenings to take a dip in the spa before calling it an evening.
We also loved having the gas BBQ outside of the building next to ours where my husband could tend to BBQ'ing our dinners most nights.
The beach isn't too far from unit, and it's absolutely gorgeous walking through the property with the aeromatic plumerica trees throughout and well-groomed landscaping throughout.
The property is very family-friendly and the unit itself has something everyone... including a very nice television with remote, vcr and stereo system... as an added surprise there's a "free" internet connection, should you feel the need.
We can't wait to return in the summer of 2009, and your dealings with Randy who coordinates the property, as well as Barbara the owner are a 10+... both very nice and accommodating.
Located on the northwest side of the beautiful island of Maui, Napili Shores resort and our condo E141 is ideally situated for all manner of fun and activities. Lahaina the main tourist destination on the island is only minutes to the south of Napili while one of the best beaches (Napili Bay Beach) on the island is located right next to Napili Shores Resort. Aside from the swimming, body surfing, and sunbathing at the beach, some of the activities guests enjoy is the whale watching between Jan to Apr and snorkeling with the turtles in nearby Turtle Bay. A convenient shopping center is also located right around the corner as well as the West Maui Airport where one can easily catch an island hopper flight to any one of the other islands.
