Bucket list dream Vacation

  • 5 of 5

It has always been my dream to take my daughters, their husbands and children up there before I cast off for the great beyond. We rented their "Eagles Nest CABIN" it was more like an executive estate! Beautiful home, comfortable beyond reason fully stocked with everything except our personal needs. A row boat, pontoon boat, canoe and a couple of kayaks were available. The 9 of us ranged from 73 to 6 and had the time of our lives. Fishing was fantastic, caught 30+ northern pike many perch, bluegill & catfish and my 17 1/2 inch small mouth bass! weather beautiful. Older teens swam off the dock, little kids loved beach at Black Oak Lake. Night time was bonfire time with stories of the days adventures. The kids caught toads and frogs along with a garter snake and played with the fish that were too small to keep and let them all go at sunset. We sited many Eagles and hawks and the kids wanted desperately to pet a deer so on one day I took them to the zoo in St. Germain where they had their fill of animals to pet. No one wanted to leave . It is a month later and all everyone talks about is the fun we had here, going back and what the folks at Pinestone call "A CABIN". We are still shaking our heads about that one!

The Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in all three cabins at varying times of the year. Each of them are beautiful, extremely clean and very comfortable. Each time we visited, we were able to take the kayak and the pontoon boat out for a relaxing ride on the serene lake. The wildlife we have seen were eagles with their eaglets, loons, swan, ducks, and beavers. We would recommend it for anyone looking to get far from the hussle of reality and enjoy the peace and quiet of the alluring northwoods of Wisconsin.

Simply Outstanding!

  • 5 of 5

We just arrived home from a week's vacation and want to turn around to go back! We stayed at Moose Lodge which is absolutely gorgeous. The place was immaculate upon our arrival, great views, nice fireplace and outdoors fire pit which was fun making smores with the kids or just relaxing in the cool Northwoods night air. The finished basement was also great for kids to have their own space. We will definitely be back and I'm sure the other two properties would be just as inviting. This was a great find!

Bear's Den

  • 5 of 5

This, along with the other two homes, are beautiful. We stayed in the Bear's Den, which had a "up north" decor with all the amenities you need to feel pampered. The property is well maintained, with the property manager's stopping in to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. My only suggestion is a screen to place in front of fireplace in the master bedroom to provide privacy and block the light from the living room.

Beautiful home, trustworthy owners

  • 4 of 5

The house was everything you would hope for. Cozy, clean, comfortable. The other two cabins aren't too close and the piers are easily accessible. We enjoyed visiting Bonds Falls, Crystal Lake and you should be sure to visit Bent's Camp just down highway B from the cabin. We enjoyed great fishing while we stayed in late June...nice perch and crappies were plentiful (along with some bullheads and small northern). We saw many loons, eagles and families of geese as well as turtles. There is also a beautiful beach just down the road at Black Oak Lake--a beautifully clear lake! The one drawback was we had a group of 10 and there was only sleeping space for 8. So just be aware of this if you have a larger group...I wouldn't recommend the Eagles Nest...although I'm sure the other two cabins would have been fine for us. The couch and loveseat could hold small children, however.

Kingston, WI

My family recently stayed at the Bear's Den lodge which is situated in the middle of the Moose lodge and the Eagle's Nest lodge. The lodge itself was amazing, new, clean, and comfortable. Plenty of room and great views. The owners were very helpful answering all of our questions and even called in once during the week to make sure things were going well for us. We were a bit concerned that it might be a resort atmosphere with little privacy and relaxation. However, it was quite the opposite, from fishing off the piers or by boat, hiking and biking on nearby trails or simply sitting by the campfire watching the eagles and loons. The swimming was endless as well. I can't say enough good things about the experience we had. The pontoon rental worked out great, the fishing was good (had a perch meal one night), and the location is excellent. We took a day trip to Ontanogon, MI and swam in Lake Superior and also stopped at Bond's Falls on the way (a must see). A different day we went to Northern HIghland State Park just outside of Sayner and swam, biked and kayaked in and around Crystal Lake and FireFly Lake (another must see and do). My wife and I even went to the casino one evening in Watersmeet, MI only 10 miles away. Also, took the family minigolfing and go-carting in Eagle River. What a great vacation - Can't wait to get back.
