Guestbook comments from the owner

"What a gem to find! This warm and romantic cabin is exactly what anyone going to the catskills wants. Quiet, Cosy, Romantic, UP TO DATE. The cabin was meticulously clean when we arrived and the furnishings weren't like the 1970's style cabins and resorts we've seen. Mary was a wonder to deal with and she really went out of her way to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this cabin, as I'll be going back myself."

Was even more than we expected! Wanting to take a "dogcation" we read through many descriptions

  • 5 of 5

This "cabin" is exactly how it is featured in the pictures! We are from South Jersey beach area so having some form of water was a definite for us and our 2 labs. The cabin is located close to the street so we would advise to keep dogs on a leash if you do not trust them running off. Fortunately, ours only care about what we are doing with them, and even though we did not see any animals, we always made sure they were not out on their own. There is plenty of open space on each side of the cabin to play . The backyard has been cleverly designed. Off the back patio a rock path takes you passed a rock wall to an open area full of large rocks, sand, and The Neversink River. A large fire pit surrounded by makeshift seating designed with rocks makes for a very inviting nite time fire and "smores"! Our digs jumped and chased their toys in the river. We swam, and enjoyed out time in our floats! We consider this the beach area of the property. Another fire pit is located in the woodsy area along the river surrounded by trees .Hence, the countryside of this property. The cabin is very comfortable yet has a large loft upstairs with twin beds, a queen bed, and a futon. Downstairs their is one bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining area, bathroom , and laundry room. All appliances work very well. Plenty of kitchen silverware, pots, dishes to use. Plenty of towels. The grill outside on the patio is heavy duty, and a picnic table for one's outside dining. Love the big windows in the living room and downstairs bedroom. The pond across the street which is also part of this property was low so fishing was out of the question. Property boundaries are marked making it easy to stay within the cabin's acreage. We will definitely become regulars!

Fantastic riverside mountain retreat

  • 4 of 5

The cabin and location are magnificent if you are looking for some quality quiet time with your family. Full moon fires on the Neversink, and a cool getaway from the summer heat. Claryville is a quaint town in the heart of the Catskills and Claryville Cabin is home away from home. Mary was super helpful getting us started and the house was comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommended for anyone needing a getaway or retreat. Hummingbirds on the front porch were incredible, unseen bears on the fire tower trail were intriguing, and we hear the trout are spectacular.

Great for peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time with our girls, 3 & 7, and our dog. Cabin had everything we needed and was surprisingly spacious for a smaller home. The property is large and the campfire area by the river is great. Lots of smores and butterfly chasing. Biggest issue was that the river was so low, it was not fish able. No fault of the owners of course. Cabin was clean, but could use some updating. One thing to note, the twin beds are upstairs while bathroom is downstairs. Kinda tough for a young one at night. Mary was very easy to work with. We'd go back!

Warm and welcoming - cabin and owners!

  • 5 of 5

The Claryville Cabin was a wonderful getaway. The house was very welcoming and as described. The owners were extremely responsive and friendly. We visited with our two children and had a great time exploring the property and traveling to the neighboring towns, parks, and trails. We enjoyed the serenity of the home and would recommend the Claryville Cabin to others.

Authentic cabin with burbling river on property.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is everything the pictures show it as and more. The property is amazing and you truly do have a river within sight and hearing distance from the backdoor. Very close to world famous fishing rivers and hiking trails. The place comes with everything you should need. A fantastic place to just come and disconnect from the world. If you're looking for a place upstate to run away to for the weekend from the city, this is it. Stop your search now and pray there's a free weekend left for you to book.

Riverside quiet cabin with great owner

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here 4 nights in Feb. The cabin is next to the Neversink river and over the few days we were there, it went from being iced up to a roaring flow. A very nice piece of land by the river; good for little kids to explore. Too cold for a fire, but we saw two fire pits for better weather. Large grocery store is about 40 minutes away. Cabin is comfy and can easily sleep 7. The owner, Mary, is just about the best owner I've dealt with having rented from VRBO for over 10 years. Because of a few inconveniences that was really not the owner's fault (eg, ran out of de-icing salt), she gave us a nice 'rebate'. Highly recommend this rental; either as a base to explore the area or just to sit and watch the river.
