Guestbook comments from the owner

"What a gem to find! This warm and romantic cabin is exactly what anyone going to the catskills wants. Quiet, Cosy, Romantic, UP TO DATE. The cabin was meticulously clean when we arrived and the furnishings weren't like the 1970's style cabins and resorts we've seen. Mary was a wonder to deal with and she really went out of her way to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this cabin, as I'll be going back myself."

Unbelievable! Even better than the listing states!

  • 5 of 5

The Donohue's here....Transformed campers.....now totally a cabin family!!!!! So I am not one to take the time to write a review.... I always have good intentions, but with a full time teaching position, 3 kids, a side grooming business and volunteering for my local ambulance, I never really get the time... but this cabin and the owner Mary so deserves my time and OUR FAMILY review!!!!! She had perfect instructions for everything! Even maps to get there and to know the property. The cabin was even better than the pics! The fire pit by the river had to be our favorite! My youngest son even tried to replicate it in a super small scale! Who knows you might get to see it if it is still there! The house is immaculate and we tried to leave it as well. Plenty of blankets and towels. Electric warmers for the beds. Washer/Dryer if you need. Front porch to relax as well as my mom's favorite part, the wood swing looking over the stream. Our kids played in the stream for hours, skipping rocks and we hiked way up the stream until it split! Even my 72 year old mother could walk most of the stream! When she couldn't go any farther she sat by the edge enjoying the water flow while we tracked on. We had lots of camp fires and competitions of stacked rocks....if you go you will understand! Just look around at the stream edge!!! And Mary is there for you for what ever you may need or to answer questions. Kids were happy wifi worked great when we were inside for the night. Just make sure you check the garbage drop off schedule....we kinda missed that note and had to haul our garbage back to long island..... no biggie, but will plan better next time we come! LOL! Thanks Mary for the amazing memories and for sharing your amazing cabin and stream with us!!!!! We will deff be back in the spring!!!!! Best memories ever! We are definitely going to be regulars!!!!! ps... Signing in the cabin book was so cool and reading the stories of other cabin guests was a great thing to experience with our family! :) See you in the spring Mary!!!!

Beautiful cabin and property

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin for a long weekend in the Catskills. The property is beautiful and has a small stream running behind the house. There are two outside fire pits. The cabin is super cozy and we lit a fire in the fireplace every night. The kitchen is large and the stove is new. It is 45 minutes from some of the best hiking as well. We will be back.

Was even more than we expected! Wanting to take a "dogcation" we read through many descriptions

  • 5 of 5

This "cabin" is exactly how it is featured in the pictures! We are from South Jersey beach area so having some form of water was a definite for us and our 2 labs. The cabin is located close to the street so we would advise to keep dogs on a leash if you do not trust them running off. Fortunately, ours only care about what we are doing with them, and even though we did not see any animals, we always made sure they were not out on their own. There is plenty of open space on each side of the cabin to play . The backyard has been cleverly designed. Off the back patio a rock path takes you passed a rock wall to an open area full of large rocks, sand, and The Neversink River. A large fire pit surrounded by makeshift seating designed with rocks makes for a very inviting nite time fire and "smores"! Our digs jumped and chased their toys in the river. We swam, and enjoyed out time in our floats! We consider this the beach area of the property. Another fire pit is located in the woodsy area along the river surrounded by trees .Hence, the countryside of this property. The cabin is very comfortable yet has a large loft upstairs with twin beds, a queen bed, and a futon. Downstairs their is one bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining area, bathroom , and laundry room. All appliances work very well. Plenty of kitchen silverware, pots, dishes to use. Plenty of towels. The grill outside on the patio is heavy duty, and a picnic table for one's outside dining. Love the big windows in the living room and downstairs bedroom. The pond across the street which is also part of this property was low so fishing was out of the question. Property boundaries are marked making it easy to stay within the cabin's acreage. We will definitely become regulars!

Fantastic riverside mountain retreat

  • 4 of 5

The cabin and location are magnificent if you are looking for some quality quiet time with your family. Full moon fires on the Neversink, and a cool getaway from the summer heat. Claryville is a quaint town in the heart of the Catskills and Claryville Cabin is home away from home. Mary was super helpful getting us started and the house was comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommended for anyone needing a getaway or retreat. Hummingbirds on the front porch were incredible, unseen bears on the fire tower trail were intriguing, and we hear the trout are spectacular.

Great for peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time with our girls, 3 & 7, and our dog. Cabin had everything we needed and was surprisingly spacious for a smaller home. The property is large and the campfire area by the river is great. Lots of smores and butterfly chasing. Biggest issue was that the river was so low, it was not fish able. No fault of the owners of course. Cabin was clean, but could use some updating. One thing to note, the twin beds are upstairs while bathroom is downstairs. Kinda tough for a young one at night. Mary was very easy to work with. We'd go back!
